EGYPT- AUC, THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN CAIRO School of Business

School support

AUC helps international students find internships through the help of the Career Center. The Career Center internship coordinators will guide international students through their process of internship search but the students must contact the Career Center well in advance (one semester prior to the intended internship start time) to allow ample time to search and apply to relevant internships.

In addition to that, internship opportunities are posted on students’ CareerWEB accounts, AUC’s webbased career services management system. Aside from openings available on CareerWEB, incoming students can also find internships by attending the semi-annual Employment Fair, which includes an internship booklet that provides students with all the available internship opportunities by the participating companies.

The career center also offers opportunities to work on campus in the different AUC departments and offices through the Work Study program.

International students are welcome to use any of the Career Center services that include but are not limited to self-assessments, career development workshops, and career advising appointments.

Legislation

Incoming students are strongly recommended to get their tourist visa before arrival. Once they are on campus, it is a must that they contact the Business Support Office located on the second floor of the Administration Building room #G022. The Business Support Office will guide them in the process of obtaining their student residency.

Students who will not be studying at AUC, can apply for a regular tourist visa and the company that they are applying to will help them with the work permit process once they get accepted.
