Chapter 1 What are the Fastest Trains?
Some trains are very very fast like the Shanghai Maglev, Harmony CRH 380A and the AGV Italo. First the Shanghai Maglev is the fastest train the world. It’s top speed is 430 km which is the fastest speed of of any train! It was created in April 2004. It runs on a high speed magnetic levitation line which was the first ever built! Next the Harmony CRH 380A is the second fastest operating train at 380 km. It operates from Beijing to Shanghai and created in October 2010. Lastly the AGV Italo is the third fastest train at 360 km. lt is the most modern in Europe. lt was created in April 2007. “ZOOM!” These are some of the fastest trains in the world. Chapter 2 Passenger Trains vs. Cargo Train Passenger trains and cargo trains have many things in common and differences. First passenger trains carry people while cargo trains carry food, coal, cars and even TANKS! Next passenger trains are arrow dynamic while cargo trains have a boxlike front. Also passenger trains have less cars (under 70) but cargo trains can have more than 600!! Some cargo trains have small snowplow but passenger trains don’t have any!! They also have many things in common. They both travel long distances and they both travel on tracks. They both carry things and usually have at least 70 cars! These are the ways cargo trains and passenger trains are the alike and different.
FACTS ABOUT TRAINS 3
Chapter 3 Parts of a Train Have you ever wondered what the parts of a train are? Well I can tell you! Engine Car First I will talk about the engine car. The engine is in the engine car. lt makes makes the train move with the engine of course. A lot of times it is streamlined that means it has a slant at the front to make it go faster. Some times on cargo trains have more of a box like front like I said before. Headlights and Tail Lights Headlights and tail lights are used depending on which way the train is going. A headlight or taillight is a light or lamp usually equipped with a reflector at the front or back of a train. Wheels The wheels are specially designed to go on tracks FACTS ABOUT TRAINS 4
Box Cars A box car carries many things. lt does not quite line up with the engine so… it is bigger. I remember when l was young and l got interested about trains. l wondered what some parts of a train were and what they did. Writing this chapter helped me learn about all of this.

Maglev
a transportation system in which trains glide above a track, supported by magnetic repulsion and propelled by a linear motor.
travel
make a journey, typically of some length or abroad.
tank
a heavy armored fighting vehicle
