Center of Attention
Dear Team CBO,
As we prepare for Rosh Hashana, I am humbled and in awe of the unity and sanctity that define Centers Business Office. More than ever, this past year has showcased our collective resilience and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Rosh Hashana marks not only a new year, but a new chapter in our journey. Let us reflect on our achievements, learn from our experiences, and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we will continue to innovate, inspire, and achieve remarkable milestones.
May the sweetness of the Yom Tov season fill our hearts with hope, optimism and joy. I would like to extend my warmest wishes for a meaningful and enjoyable Yom Tov season, and a year of growth and prosperity, and a future illuminated by success.
Shanah Tovah,
— Kenny Rozenberg

The Rabbi’s Reflections
Teshuva! That’s the key word on our minds as we approach the Yamim Noraim. We spend forty days, thinking about Teshuva, Davening to merit accomplishing a proper Teshuva, Teshuva, Teshuva….
How can we put Teshuva into practical terms? The Ponovizher Mashgiach writes that Teshuva is not simply a resolution not to fail again. A person should not mislead himself that yesterday he was not okay but from now on he will be. Why would that work? Have we not tried that in past years and not seen the results we were hoping for?
Change is about carving out a different path. We must make it real and take action with tangible changes not just to comfort ourselves with grand thoughts and plans.
How does one accomplish real change? The answer is, by taking real steps in the direction of improvement in any given area. It's not enough to say, “From now on I will learn more”. Rather reach out to a friend and decide on a time and topic, turning the idea into a reality. Or say a person wants to become a better Davener. Go out and buy a new Siddur with a translation to make Davening more meaningful.
Inspiring Thoughts
Eli Rozwaski - Analyst
Elul. The name itself instills fear. It officially marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new year. The question is what is so fearful about Elul itself since there is no Yom HaDin in that month. Furthermore, my esteemed supervisor Ralph Betesh pointed out that there are 40 days between Elul and Yom Kippur corresponding to the 40 days a child is formed in the mother and 40 days of the mabul (a similar statement is found in the Kaf Hachaim Siman 581). We see that it is one unit of transformation.
The question is what does rebirth have anything to do during Elul? The answer, says Rabbi Yeruchum Olshin, is because on Rosh Hashana we have a court case
and we are given 30 days to prepare for court. Therefore, if a person wants to win in court, they will prepare themselves with a defense or strategy to help them out. Especially, when we realize that when we do a sin it is considered a form of death: the essence of the entire 40 days is when we do teshuva from all the various sins from the year, we are in essence reborn. Hence, Rabbi Olshin says that every day is important and we should not let it go by idly. However, he gives advice that above all we need to increase our learning. He brings from Rabbi Yitzchok Issac Chaver that the shofar represents the shofar that was by יניס רה and the zechus of Torah will surely help.
If one would like to improve the safety of a device in their possession, get in the car and drive over to your local TAG office.
A good intention is a beginning and Chazal teach us that beginnings are very difficult. If we follow our intentions with actions, Hashem will grant us the opportunity to reach a type of Teshuva that will have a lasting effect, carving a new path to bring us closer to Hashem this coming year.
With best wishes for a Ksiva VaChasima Tova and a year of Bracha,
To illustrate this point further there is a story from Divrei Chaim where before blowing of the רפוש he would seclude himself in the room for a period of time. No one knew what the Rebbe was doing except they knew not to disturb him. One time the Gabbai needed to speak with the Rebbe and lo and behold the Rebbe was deeply learning a Ketzos Hachoshen. Later on, his grandson explained that we know Hashem is delighted when we learn Torah. Therefore on the day when we ask for things Hashem, who enjoys when we learn Torah, will surely help us be successful in our davening.
We should all merit a Ksiva VaChasima Tova.
Welcome!

Spotlight on Brooklyn Center
A 281-bed facility in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, Brooklyn Center is a game-changer in the field of post-acute healthcare. When the facility opened in 2020, the news site Bklynr called it “state-ofthe-art. It feels more like a five-star hotel. It’s just what the doctor prescribed.” CEO Kenny Rozenberg commented: “We’re setting the trend for the industry. We really are making a difference in the lives of our Residents.”
Brooklyn Center is a 280,000 square foot facility with a 6,000 square foot high-tech therapy suite and 14,000 square feet of rooftop and outdoor spaces. As diverse as the borough it’s named for, the Center features an Asian-themed unit with a staff fluent in Chinese and a Southeast Asian-themed unit with a staff fluent in Arabic, Urdu, and Bengali.
Recognized for its initiatives, innovation and leadership, Brooklyn Center has made a world of difference in the health and well-being of the Brooklyn community

2. Eat nuts and seeds: They are packed with protein, fiber, and a variety of vitamins and minerals.
3. Avoid ultra-processed foods: Diets high in ultraprocessed food can contribute to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions.
Make a workout part of your work day.
4. Don’t fear coffee: It’s rich in antioxidants, and some studies have linked coffee intake to longevity and a reduced risk of numerous illnesses. Enjoy in moderation.
5. Eat fatty fish: Fish is a great source of high-quality protein and healthy fat. This is particularly true of fatty fish, such as salmon.
