At the end of April of this year, 82-year-old Virginia Corsi (left) and Mary Backlund, 70, (right), both from Boulder, Colorado, were heading back to Albany International Airport when they were involved in a major car accident, both sustaining multiple serious injuries. After a month at Albany Medical Center, they were transferred to Schenectady Center for their recovery and rehab.
The Schenectady Center staff provided critical compassionate support in their goal of achieving a strong positive outcome in order to go back home to Colorado. It worked. Mary was discharged on July 13, and Virginia followed on July 25.
-As reported on WTEN-TV in Schenectady.
