The beautiful new Brooklyn Center is now open for admissions.
The 280,000 square ft. Brooklyn Center has officially opened its doors. A reporter for Bklyner, the online Brooklyn resource, previewed the site and wrote: “Brooklyn Center offers fresh food curated by chefs daily, semi-private rooms for two or private rooms for one, roll-in showers, a fireplace and chess lounges, and various rehabilitation rooms with special equipment, like a 6,000-square-foot gym outfitted with high-end rehab machines, and a 14,000-square-foot

outdoor rooftop space. All completed with a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline, just what the doctor prescribed.” Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care, adds: “We’re setting the trend for the industry, because this is the nicest and newest nursing home in the country. We really are making a difference in the lives of our residents.”
News from the Centers
Walking the Walk
Cooperstown Center is stepping up, joining this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Where is this year’s walk? Wherever you are. It’s virtual. Take the first step: Please consider a $5.00 donation in honor of the 5 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer’s.
Horse Play
The mini-horses visited Troy Center, as the beloved animals shared moments with the residents at their windows. The ponies bring joy wherever they go, and that’s certainly true of Troy Center. They’re invited to visit anytime!
Celebrating Her Century
Granville Center resident Shirley McKernon celebrated her 100th birthday, and many folks from the community came out to express their birthday wishes. A parade of cars cruised past the Center, some honking their horns, others holding up signs. Happy 100th Shirley!
Good News!
CreditDeployment.com and the Northwood Asset Management Group in Buffalo got together and donated 500 N95 masks to Ellicott Center. It was a grand gesture, and the local ABC-TV affiliate agreed, running a story on the news.
More Good News!
Ron Jarvis of Hudson Falls was treated at Glens Falls Hospital with a bad case of COVID-19. Once he tested negative he was transferred to Slate Valley Center for his rehab. On the day of his discharge, members of his motorcycle entourage rode by to greet him. Ron’s back home now, and it’s all good!
Sweet!
July 30th was National Cheesecake Day, and Wichita Center pulled out all the stops: strawberry, blueberry, pineapple all baked to perfection with delicious cheese filling and a crunchy crust. A great day, any way you slice it!

Spreading goodwill—and sweet treats— throughout our communities This summer has certainly been full of changes, challenges and sometimes difficult choices. But even as we donned our masks and practiced social distancing, there were uplifting moments of joy, connection and camaraderie. Throughout this singular summer, Centers Health Care deployed a fleet of ice cream and donut trucks to connect with healthcare heroes at our neighborhood hospitals. Trucks under the Centers banner shared sweet treats at Montefiore and Einstein Hospitals in the Bronx; NYU Langone in Manhattan; Jamaica Hospital in Queens; and numerous other locations in Brooklyn, upstate New York, Kansas and Rhode Island. Ice cream and donuts are small tokens of our appreciation for the hard work that the hospital staffers do. But more important is the chance to meet and talk with our fellow healthcare professionals. We are in this as a community, and all it takes is a warm summer afternoon of shared treats and smiles to demonstrate that we are stronger together.
