Positive stories appeared soon after in the Urdu, Chinese and English-language press. Irina Groushevaia, managing editor of Bklyner, marveled at the “6,000-square-foot gym outfitted with high-end rehab machines and a 14,000-square-foot outdoor rooftop space.” She writes that Brooklyn Center is “just what the doctor prescribed.” Centers CEO Kenny Rozenberg commented: “We’re setting the trend for the industry, because this will be the nicest and newest nursing home in the country. We really are making a difference in the lives of our Residents.”

Kenny’s Corner

Happy New Year 2020! In Japan, families celebrate the New Year by cleaning their house and decorating it with pine branches, plum blossoms and bamboo. In Denmark, people break old dishes and pile them up at their neighbors’ front doors. Down in Louisiana, some folks celebrate by eating Cajun-style black-eyed peas and cabbage. The Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashana brings in the New Year in late summer or early autumn, as does the Islamic holiday Muharram. Although we observe the holiday in different ways—or at different times—we are all celebrating the same event. It is a time of reflection and renewal, a time to look back on past achievements and to resolve to do even better in the year to come. So however, whenever, and with whomever you celebrate the holiday—whether you sip champagne and sing Auld Lang Syne, break dishes, or feast on black-eyed peas and cabbage—Happy New Year to all!
