Kenny’s Corner
Let’s give thanks. In this season of giving thanks, we celebrate family, friends, food and football. Here at Centers Health Care, we have many reasons to celebrate. But it’s also a good time to reflect—and to remember why we are here. Our residents. Over the years, many of you have told me that you consider working at Centers not only a job, but a calling. That is because we have a very special opportunity to give our residents help, hope, care and compassion. At the same time, however, they give us so much in return. As we help them get stronger, their determination gives us strength. As we inspire them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives, their example inspires us. Our residents share with us their experience gained over their lifetimes. They open up to us about the hardships they’ve faced, and in many cases have overcome. Their lives and their stories can be a source of wisdom for all of us. Like many of you, I consider myself to be blessed—not only to work with our residents, but to work with so many of you. At this time of Thanksgiving, it is a perfect time to count our blessings.

News from the Centers
Go shopping!
For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, La Bodega, the gift shop at Bannister Center, is open for business. Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza stopped by for the grand re-opening, cutting the ribbon and chatting with the residents and staff. Now that’s a gift!
¡Ola!
The music was hot and the mood was cool at Richmond Center as they celebrated Hispanic History month. The residents were clapping, shaking and dancing in their seats!
Trick or treat!
Kids of all ages and dogs of all shapes and sizes came out to march in the Halloween Community Parade at Glens Falls Center. Treats were handed out to all…and that’s no trick!
Aloha!
Everyone at Slate Valley Center enjoyed a Luau Party featuring music with Island Times Steel Drums! Tropical snacks such as Pineapple Coconut Dessert Cups and a Tropical Punch were served. Party on—Hawaii style!
The apple of our eye
Warren Center went apple crazy! Apple cider, apple sauce, apples of all kinds and flavors. They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. At this rate, the Warren Center residents will stay healthy for a long time!
Taco takeaway!
National Taco Day was the order of the day at Triboro Center. Residents made their own— tortillas, spiced meat, beans, cheese and more. Ingredients for success! As far as we’re concerned every day’s a good day for Tacos.
