WORKSHOP
“
Xcoop® is an alliance that conducts research and engages in advocacy in areas such as education, design, construction, social policy and strategy, economics and technology issues. Through its flexible and permeable approach, analysis of contemporary living it expresses various creative solutions within a wide range of professions. XCOOP
”
The workshop consisted on an intensive work schedule to deepen and give a boost in the architectural development to the project that was beginning to conform. The architects of the organization Xcoop® were the special guests to guide the work week and in this way to advance the project from a different perspective and to enrich the forms of intervention in the different sectors of work. It was started by the synthesis and abstraction of the main project intentions to be able to define a general concept that allowed to give an organizational structure to the work. Emphasis was placed on the definition with words and conceptual diagrams of the different components of the project to give a common sense to the different strategies. Then a master plan was developed to combine and unify the previous project intentions, achieving a general concept that would allow to revert the condition of inequity in the study sector. The raid on sections was fundamental to the development of the workshop, to experiment with different options and to approach the architectural scale of the project.

EQUITY Social condition where human beings inhabit an urban ecosystem that provides them spaces in which they have what is necessary for the development of their quality of life, taking into account their particular needs and conditions. It is expressed mainly in the common elements in a society, to which everyone must have the capacity to access. This proportional urban support must be guaranteed by the state.

MASTER PLAN The master plan main intentions consist in the formation of a balance network that allows us to articulate the different project strategies located in different places of the territory. In this way a mesh was obtained that allowed to generate a connection between the different population sectors, the existing public spaces and the exploitation of those land without utility that intensify the socio-spatial segregation. A general project was developed that reverses the condition of inequity in terms of the demand for open space of social integration not satisfied, improves the environmental conditions facing the population of the sector and responds to the lack of cultural, educational and sports activities in the area.

PROJECT AXONOMETRY By means of axonometry it was intended to visualize in an oblique way the project intention to be developed in the median of Las AmĂŠricas Avenue. It represents one of the green bridges that were designed to surpass the high-speed track and allow the cross-pedestrian relationship of this character. It also shows the treatment of the pedestrian paths that are driven to articulate the separator with the public space next to the El Burro Wetland. It is made explicit graphically the destruction of the barriers imposed by the closed sets, creating open spaces that come in communication with the city.

PROJECT SCENARIO The projectual image what seeks to express is the project intention to create a large forest that combats inequality from different fronts. By means of the formation of an environmental buffer, which serves as a lung and improves the air conditions in the sector; By means of the effective exploitation of the vacant land of the separator, that according to a large park of social integration between the districts currently disconnected; And by means of the spatial articulation of the different population sectors transversally to the separator of the main avenue.

INEQUALITY Inequality appears when these services mentioned yet, start to polarize, in one part of the territory unbalancing the territory and generating the people to create and improve this services in their own houses, or in places that are not adequate to it. Putting in danger the health, education, public spaces, rules, city pacification and others consideration that are vital to human beings. Based on this premisethat is happening on the territory we create a multi-nuclear articulator, that equip the territory with a mix of uses and services depending of what they need. These points will be articulated by environmental corridors that will have pedestrian and bicycles flows, that will end at the new terminal of massive transport, that will be equip by different services and job offices that will impulse the economical dynamics in this place. With these urban interventions, we would generate more equality in the access to the facilities for all the people in the sector, giving them more space to walk and develop their activities. In the architectural scale, we are proposing to regenerate the blocks by putting an adaptive module that coexist with the preexistent architecture and adapt to the necessities of the population.

STRATEGIES Taking into account the inequity of the sector in terms of access to services such as health and construction, lack of public space, access to public transport and a deficit in equipment, strategies are developed based on the criteria: RECYCLING AND CONNECTING RECYLING the part of the industrial area and turn it into a hybrid sector, where they begin to implement activities that integrate the flotation population as a resident. Through public spaces, cultural and recreational facilities that support the commercial activity of the sector. CONNECT the sector with the city by means of routes that are formed from the existing environmental base, taking the river Fucha as main articulates of the four sides of the sector. From the proposed green area (park) it is sought to integrate the population from different activities that are distributed through the parks that the sector. The activities of recreation and leisure are in accordance with the shopping center and thus take advantage of the paths that allow to cross the sector.
58

REPROGRAMMING THE TERRITORY Moving from a mono-functional territory to one where programs are articulated and complement each other, making the new piece an attractor of diverse flows.
68
69
MASTER PLAN Through the proposed reprogramming, it is sought to intervene a piece that currently fragments and encapsulates both neighborhoods, all with the purpose of generating a new area of integration and trancision in the territory. This piece is totally linked both transversally and longitudinally.

CONNECTING DYNAMICS This zone arround 63 st contain some dynamics thar responds to an urban or a metropolitan scale that aren´t related at all, causing some fractures in the territory between this activities and the local scale that corresponds to the residence and local activities such as supermarkets, parks (public space in general). The effects of the fractures in the local zone is lack of equipmets and dynamics, leaving this fractions of city without city. This project pretends to connect all this metropolitan dynamics (metropolitan park, stadium, commerce and universitys) between them through the local zones in order to fill this ones with dynamics and supply the necesities they have whit the master plan of this connection.
78
79
MASTER PLAN In order to connect the metropolitan equipments and break the fractures they are causing, a loop between them was planned, this loop will consist on four different lines, responding to a specific dynamic. the first line is recreational, it goes from the metropolitan park to the cross between the 53 st and the NQS av, the second one is a commercial one, that connects with the recreational one in the intersection mentioned before, near the stadium, and ends at the educational zone where the cultural line starts, and this one ends in an other commercial line that goes to the start of the first one (the recreational one). There are some macrostructures included to give the project connectivity whit the city, two of them are public transpor stations and the third one is a replicable one in the second commercial zone, to organice high impact activities in order to give the pedestrian more space.
