EXPERIENTIAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT The core of the AIESEC Experience is the Experiential Leadership Development phase. PURPOSE PURPOSEOF OFTHE THEPLAN PLAN
iInnovate aims to educate poor Filipino communities about social entrepreneurship and help them in establishing their own businesses within their area rather than sitting at home or begging for food and spare change in the streets, thereby reducing poverty rate and unemployment in the Philippines. The project is a foundation for Filipinos to maximize their potentials, to utilize their ideas and to create impact in Filipino society.
11.8 million or 55% of families rated themselves poor while 8.8 million or 41% rated themselves food poor. (Social Weather Station survey) The unemployment rate rose to 27.5%, or an estimated 12.1 million individuals, as 2.5 million Filipinos joined the ranks of the jobless between September and December found by SWS survey. (Inquirer) 37% Metro Manila, 64% Visayas and 56% Mindanao are poor. Filipinos classified as extremely poor increased by 1.6 million last year and increased another million due to the current natural catastrophes. (gmanetwork) We hope to inspire a collective effort from Filipinos to rise from poverty through their own ideas and action.
