braM CONSORTIUM DEFINES THE COMPLETION OF THE COURSE AND ITS TARGET AUDIENCE braM Project has already reached its Equator and defines, therefore, its contents. The aim is to create a web course that will enhance the brand in fashion SME’s and specially in children’s fashion SME’s. The last meeting of braM was held in the Swedish city of Boräs last 9th-10th September. The consortium agreed to significant progress about the training material of the course and the most suitable on-line system for training. After analyzing three different programs, the one that best fits the needs of the project is Moodle. This will serve as a platform to include course contents, available in different languages, and will serve as a meeting point between students and tutors. Other of the most important aspects discussed at this meeting was the completion of the course content and its target audience. The course will focus on the use of the tools to boost the brand in the world of fashion and, therefore, it will aim at those interested in this area or those professionals who want to expand their knowledge. In addition, in braM website (http://www.brandfashionmanager.eu) are available the reports of progress on the needs analysis, training modules and communications plan. Recently project partners prepare teaching materials and research on the pilot project. For this reason, during following months it will be chosen the companies and the tutors who will experience first with the course. Next braM meeting will be held on December 15th of 2010 in Rome. The Italian capital is the headquarter of one of the project’s partner, CNA Federmoda, Italian National Confederation of Craft and PMI.

DESIGN 4 CHILDREN PROJECT WAS BORN

Design 4 Children, a new European Project for Research and Develop was born at the beginning of October. This project is led by the Spanish Association of Children's Products, ASEPRI, and Children's Fashion Europe is a collaborating partner. DESIGN 4 CHILDREN will enhance the competitiveness of the sector through the development of three innovative tools for R & D biomechanics and ICT: support tool design, virtual dummy for testing designs and web 2.0. These tools will promote a new children's product differentiation to meet international competition, and promote the comfort, quality and safety of children's products and innovative product design. Design 4 Children will develop over the next 3 years and will take as a starting point of research on child biomechanical conditions and the interaction of children with clothes and products to which they relate. From the conclusions drawn will be identify a number of criteria elasticity, flexibility, thermal comfort and movement and resistance of tissues, among others. The virtual dummy for testing the designs will allow SMEs to see how the product is and whether it meets the criteria that has been designed without recourse to the creation of real prototypes. An instrument that will help economizing and significantly will speed up the product creation process of companies. If you like to know more information about it, please visit:
