Join FIMI with CFE and get a 5% discount Children’s Fashion Europe (CFE) once again collaborates with the International Fair of Children's Fashion, FIMI, (www.fimi.es) which will be held in Valencia (Spain) from the 1st to the 3rd of July 2011. With this agreement CFE offers its members 5% discount on floor price. With over forty years of experience FIMI is considered the second largest fair of the sector. This 73rd edition expects to reach the good figures that have located it at the top of the Kids Fashion Exhibitions. As an example the last meeting, held in January, brought together over 300 brands from 17 countries. Moreover, according to the organization figures, the Fair has increased the number of foreign buyers by 11% compared to the 2010 edition. The children’s fashion Catwalk of CPM Kids becomes the largest in its History For the first time in the history of Collection Première Moscow, 9 kidswear brands have starred in the Catwalk organized by the European Association, Children’s Fashion Europe. This catwalk’s edition has been the largest of the nine that have been held until today, both for the number of participating firms and the large number of people who has come to the parade, held from 21 to 24 February. The russian capital has hosted the Fall/Winter 2011-12 proposals from seven european brands, one russian and one company invited from China. The brands of the 9th children’s fashion Show have been: Blue Seven, Barcarola, Bóboli, Cóndor, Gakkard, Mayoral, Pampolina, Snow Image y Special Day. No wonder that edition after edition a larger number of companies want to join this children’s fashion catwalk, which becomes the best showcase to the Russian market. From the catwalk’s organization, the responsible of Children’s Fashion Europe, Alexandra Curatolo, has emphasized “the great reception the Catwalk has had this year, which has brought together some of the most representative brands f the sector”. She has also announced “there has been already an interest by many companies to participate in the next edition of this event”. Next edition of CPM Kids Catwalk will be held from the 5th to the 8th of September 2011 and will count with Children’s Fashion Europe’s coordination. Second meeting of Design4Children Project The Valencia Biomechanical Institute has hosted, 28th February and 1st March, the second meeting of Design4Children Project, which has begun six months ago. Design4Children Project is funded by the European Commission through the 7th Framework Programme, which aims to develop tools for designing products for children (from 0 to 12 years old). These tools will help to improve the design of children products -clothes, footwear and childcare products-, and adapt them to the ergonomics and psychomotor development of children. In the meeting, partners from Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria, Finland and Israel, have analyzed the technical progress in the development stage of knowledge of Design 4 Children. In particular, they have dealed the needs in the design of children products that raise children and parents as well as designers and sellers of such products. In addition, members have outlined the future work on the D4C and the contribution to be made by each of them for achieving the project success. Start the pilot course of Project braM The european Project braM, led by Children’s Fashion Europe and which will create a web course that will enhance the brand in fashion SME’s, is preparing the pilot course. This first course, which will test the definitive course, counts with the participation of students from Italy, Finland, Greece and Spain. Specifically, from Spain, five representatives of SMEs Oh! Soleil, Miniland, Elisa Menuts, Bóboli and Micuna will have the chance to participate in it. These professionals will be the first to use this new and unique tool for free. Also they have the opportunity to offer comments and opinions on the course in order to improve it and adapt it. CFE meets with representatives from UEAPME and NORMAPME CFE has had the opportunity to meet at the end of February two important European Associations in Brussels: UEAPME and NORMAPME. UEAPME is the employer’s organisation representing the interests of European crafts, trades and SMEs at EU level. UEAPME is a recognised European Social Partner and acts on behalf of crafts and SMEs in the European Social Dialogue and in discussions with the EU institutions. It is a non-profit seeking and nonpartisan organisation. As the European SME umbrella organisation, UEAPME incorporates 80 member organisations consisting of national cross-sectorial SME federations, European branch federations and other associate members, which support the SME family. Across the whole of Europe, UEAPME represents over 12 million enterprises with nearly 55 million employees. NORMAPME is an international non-profit association created in 1996 with the support of the European Commission, under the full name of the "European Office of Crafts, Trades and Small and Medium sized Enterprises for Standardisation". NORMAPME is the only European organisation which is exclusively devoted to the interests of Small and Medium sized Enterprises in the European standardisation system. Its members represent over 12 million enterprises in all European countries, including all European Union and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member states.
