SHARPEN Y O U R G A M E
If you are a budding player, then here are some very important golf tips to help you sharpen your golf skills like the swing including the ball position, backswing golf tips and the down swing golf tips. If you are rather serious about your game, then make sure to practice these golf tips on a regular basis and watch the progress in your game.
SOME BALL POSITION GOLF TIPS: To make the iron shots precise and crisp, make sure that you do not hit the golf ball in the downward manner. But in order to achieve the downward blow of the ball, position the ball in proportion to the stance that you have taken. Thus to hit the iron shots, practice the below mentioned golf tips while positioning your body in such a manner that the ball is at the centre of your stance for the shorter irons like the 8, 9 irons as well as the wedges. For the mid irons like the 5, 6 and the 7 irons, place the ball one forward from the centre and for the fairway clubs like the 3 and the 5 woods and the hybrid clubs, place the ball two forward from the center. In case of the driver, place the ball three balls forward from the center.
SOME FULL SWING GOLF TIPS: In case of the back swing, rotate the club keeping the arms and the body at the back while moving the body weight to the inside of your back leg. For completing the back swing, hinge the wrists as they are approaching the waist level. While at the top of the back swing, make sure that the leading arm is straight and most of your body weight is on your back leg and also make sure that your back knee is flexed. Rotate your shoulders up to 90 degrees while at the top of the back swing and rotate your hips to 30 degrees.
DOWN SWING GOLF TIPS: When you wish to down swing, shift your body weight to your front leg. This will make sure that your hips, arms and the shoulders will also follow this shift of the weight. Check that the head is behind the ball. Continue with the turning of your body even after the impact position so as to make your club and the arms extend towards the target. by Robert Samuels

FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND OTHER HEALTH CONDITIONS by Dan Reeves
Have you read about this recently? Scientists have now started taking note of all the Green tea benefits that people in China and Japan have been aware of for centuries! Green tea has been a part of these cultures for a long time and the western world has just now begun recognizing these hidden treasures. SO HOW DOES GREEN TEA HELP EXACTLY? LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE TOP FIVE GREEN TEA HEALTH BENEFITS:
1. CANCER PREVENTION AND REDUCTION
Green tea contains a substance known as Epigallocatechin Gallate or EGCG. EGCG is a powerful antioxidant and it prevents cancer by countering the harmful effects of free radicals. Not only does it prevent new cancerous cells from forming, it destroys existing ones too.
2. WEIGHT LOSS ENHANCEMENT
Your existing weight loss benefits can be enhanced considerably by including green tea in your diet. It enhances the rate at which body fat is burned during exercise, which translates into a faster rate of weight loss with the same intensity exercise.
3. DIABETES CONTROL
Green tea health benefits include prevention and control of diabetes symptoms by regulating the amount of sugar and insulin produced in the body.
4. PREVENTION OF LIVER DISEASE
Excessive intake of alcohol can harm your liver irreparable. Green tea protects the liver from alcohol damage and provides protection from liver tumors and viral hepatitis as well.
5. PREVENT DIGESTIVE DISORDERS
Green tea has tremendous digestive properties and prevents all kinds of digestive disorders and stomach ailments. The only catch is, to get all these benefits you will have to drink copious amounts of green tea everyday. A good alternative is to take supplements instead which contain green tea extract. Since these supplements contain a much higher concentration of the tea, just a couple of capsules a day should be enough as opposed to drinking 5-10 cups of tea. Another benefit is that some of these supplements do not contain caffeine in them, which you will find in the tea. Caffeine can cause sleeplessness and taking the supplements will avoid this problem. So find out a good supplement now and get all these great green tea benefits working for your body.

Meditation has been around for too long to be just another buzz word in the multi-billion dollars wellness industry.
Meditation is indeed the method of choice for ones spiritual
evolution, but this is not the benefit discussed in this article.
Rather the focus is on meditation immediate benefits for your
mind and body. There is not only anecdotal, but also more and
more scientific evidence that meditation benefits both your mind and body in a synergistic way: your mindset influences the body
and at the same time your body helps your mind go further on its quest for evolution.
MEDITATION BENEFITS YOUR MIND BY: • Increasing your awareness in every moment, as opposite of
living your life on autopilot, hence everyday seems to last longer and be filled with more noticeable experiences.
• Increasing your focus and concentration, which in turn like a
magnifying glass, helps resolve the problems at hand faster and more profound.
by Constantine George
• Raising your threshold of
tolerance to stress inducing events
therefore you become calmer, happier and more tolerant.
• Increasing your intelligence. During the process of
meditation,
new synapses (neural connections) are formed. There are an average 100 billions neurons in anyones brain. What
differentiates us from an IQ standpoint though, is the number of neural connections. As simple as this.
9
From a physiological perspective, your body benefits as well.
This is easier to demonstrate by science. Measurable markers of meditation positive effects on ones body include:
• Reduced blood lactate and Cortisol, known markers of
depression and anxiety.
stress,
• Reduced blood pressure. • Increased number of
longevity and youthfulness hormones as
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) and Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). Meditation is subsequently a less expensive and natural alternative to provide our bodies with these essential hormones.
• Increased number of
wellbeing and happiness related
hormones: Serotonin and Melatonin. It is common knowledge that happier people live longer.
There are simple ways to include meditation in your daily routine
without impact on your schedule. Most of us spend a lot of time in the gym taking care of our bodies. And this is perfectly all right.
Shouldn’t we spend just a fraction of this time though to keep our mind in shape? Well, meditation does just that.

SHOULDERS ON LINE, FEET SHUT Shoulders square to the target, feet slightly shut. Not one person really speaks about this shot very much, but if it comes up at all you’ve probably been told, “If you’re going to hit the driver off the deck you’ve got to hit a big swing. It’s the only way to get the ball up.” Actually, that’s not correct at all. If you have enough club head quickness there’s no need to just hit a big cut. Of course you can hit a big cut if that’s what you want to do. You can still strike it well, and high, and far, but you lose control of the ball and you lose length. For this shot, you’re trying to hit the ball dead straight. Maybe a slight cut if you want to, but you can actually work the ball both ways when striking the driver off the deck. Take your regular driver arrangement, with your feet a little bit shut. Line up your shoulders and club face square to the target line. Keeping your feet slightly shut helps shallow out your path on the way back and through. That’s important, because if you have a very steep path you’re just going to heave that club head right down in the earth. You need to sweep the ball, but you still have to hit down on it with the driver when you’re hitting it off the deck.
CLUB HEAD INSIDE SHALLOWS THE PLANE There are a couple little tricks to make this shot functional. First is that you can see in the first photo below that the club face is dead square to his feet line. That’s intentional. That’s planned. Rather than focusing on getting it square to the shoulder plane or the target line, you want the club head a little bit inside. Why would you want that? Squaring the club face to the feet line helps you come through the ball more shallow. If you take the club back very steep you’re going to have to redirect it on the way back down. Club face square to feet line (left), left forearm rotation, club face square to feet line (left), left forearm rotation (center, right). You want it to go back and through on a very comparable plane, so you want to take it back very shallow. As you go back you’re actually getting more revolution in your left forearm from off the ball, to get the club coming back behind your hands. You want that spin in your hands because it helps shallow out the path on the way back. As you keep going to the top you’re still rotating the left forearm, getting the arm plane a little shallower than usual. As you get closer to the top, even though you’ve rotated your left forearm pretty aggressively taking the club back, the club face is still square to your forearm.

BYÂ ROBERT REID
YOKO ONO ONCE SAID THAT NEW YORK CITY NEVER CHANGED JOHN LENNON.
HE WAS BORN A NEW YORKER.
Certainly the image of Lennon flashing a peace sign in a 'New York City' muscle t-shirt will ever connect him to the Big Apple. As will, more tragically, his murder, outside Lennon and Ono's apartment at the Dakota (the classy co-op at Central Park West and W 72nd St). Lennon fans regularly go by to see the doorway where Mark David Chapman shot him four times, or to Strawberry Fields in Central Park, with its 'Imagine' mosaic. But there's more to Lennon's New York. To follow him around the city he lived most of his last nine years, one only needs listen to his relatively unknown 1972 song 'New York City' - a breathless romp around hipster New York of the early '70s, a song that remains buried on his fascinating, overtly political album Sometime in New York City. Here are the main stops:
105 Bank Street, Greenwich Village Most link Lennon's New York life with the Dakota (site of the recent battle between U2's Bono and Billy 'stroke me' Squier), but Lennon and Ono's first home was in Greenwich Village. The song begins with the couple 'standing on a corner,' then later has them 'cycling through the Village' - likely from their simple townhouse on wee Bank Street, around the corner from the famed White Horse Tavern, a bar once frequented by Dylan Thomas, Jack Kerouac and even the South Park guys 22 14

o
Step 1:
OBSERVE.
As you approach your shot, take in the entire environment, including your lie, yardage, wind, hazards and your intended target. There’s a lot of info to process, but with a little practice, it’s easy to do
Step 2:
SEE.
Analyze the shot’s given circumstances. Take my situation here: Teeing off from a severely elevated tee box (“Lombard Street” at Moorpark Country Club in Moorpark, Calif.), the yardage book says I have 240 yards to the rough. If I hit my 5-wood (which normally goes 240), I’ll drive through the fairway (remember, downhill shots go farther). Therefore, I must come up with a “hard” yardage, or what the shot actually plays. In this case, I’ve subtracted 15 to 20 yards to account for the elevation change and have selected a 3-iron instead.
Step 3:
FEEL.
See how I’ve just made a practice swing? I’m rehearsing the shot exactly how I want to execute it. All too often, golfers take practice swings that don’t resemble how the actual shot is going to be played. Don’t underestimate the importance of a practice swing! They create a feeling of the shot at hand. Now I’m going to take that feeling to the next step: execution.
Step 4:
TRUST.
At this stage, you’re actually hitting the shot, so narrow your focus to a specific target, like I’m doing here (in this case, the 150-yard marker). If you’ve completed the first three steps correctly, then you’ll be able to trust your shot. Stay focused on an external target and execute by just letting go. Maintain a focus on what you want the shot to do, not on where you don’t want the shot to go.

T
he type of golf club you should use is dictated by the
specific situation and time you find yourself in during your
game. Many beginners let themselves down in this area of the
game because deciding on the right club to use can be difficult. The right club can save you strokes on your score and this is where more experienced players can get ahead.
There are three types of clubs to choose from. The woods, irons
and putters. Each has a specific purpose and each is designed to propel the golf ball a certain distance. When you want the ball
to travel a long distance choosing from a range of wood headed
clubs is the most appropriate selection. Woods have the longest shafts enabling you to better hit the ball further.
Then you have the clubs with the iron head. These are known more commonly as “irons. Based on the length of these golf clubs there three different categories. The shortest clubs are
called wedges and are especially good for shots that only need to go a short distance. Typically they would be used when you get near the green and for getting out of trouble when you
find yourself in a bunker or other difficult lie. When you choose the right golf club at the right time you will find your game improving and your scores dropping.

Then we have the group of golf clubs called
the putters. These clubs are used when you are on or around the green and trying to sink your ball in the hole. The choice of putter can be a
very emotive and subject exercise. They come in many different types and sizes, some long, shafted others with a relatively short shaft,
some with a bigger club head than others. What works for one player may not work for another. Putters become much more personal items of equipment than the other clubs.
It is often a matter of personal choice when
selecting the golf club to be used in a particular situation but you should bear in mind that
all the different clubs have been specifically designed for a purpose and each operates
best when being used in the right situation.
Knowing more about the design and purpose
of each club in your golf bag will improve your overall game.

LUXURY LIFESTYLE’S
MARKET TALK
Wanted: Bubble Detector
By Anne Kates Smith From Kiplinger's Personal Finance
Data from investors' brain activity, prices, trading volume and social-media chatter help detect an overpriced stock market. Imagine if somehow we could rig up a bubble detector: something to tell investors when stock prices had reached unsustainable levels. Would stock market crashes disappear? Or could you at least learn to avoid them? A professor at the California Institute of Technology thinks he might be onto such a detector. Colin Camerer is a genius, which isn’t so unusual on the geek-packed campus of Caltech. But Camerer is certified, having been awarded a so-called genius grant from the MacArthur Foundation last September. The no-strings-attached fellowships bestow a total of $625,000 on each recipient over five years. Camerer will use the windfall to further his studies in the emerging field of neuroeconomics, which uses magnetic resonance imaging to analyze brain activity to better understand human decision-making. The idea of a bubble detector comes from a recent study coauthored by Camerer in which Caltech students watched replays of trading sessions rigged in a lab. Half of the sessions resulted in bubble markets, in which prices significantly exceeded the value of the asset. The Caltech students, given a stake of $60 at the outset, were periodically asked whether they would buy, sell or hold shares of the asset at the going price. Despite the fact that the fundamental value of the lab-created security was easy to calculate, based on dividend payments that decreased at regular intervals over the sessions, some of the students got swept up in the bubble anyway. “These kids are extremely analytical,” says Camerer. “The median math SAT score here is 800 [out of 800]. It’s hard to believe they can’t count and keep track of a dividend value.” Scans of the students’ brains found that susceptibility to bubble markets is associated with two types of activity. One is in the area where we make social calculations—figuring out what other people are going to do, what 36

they want, what they think of us. “That supports the greater fool theory” of bubbles, says Camerer. “It’s not that these investors don’t realize that in 15 minutes the asset will be worthless. Instead, they think, Maybe I can sell [to a ‘greater fool’] and get out.” Camerer also found that the human brain seems to recognize (probably not consciously) that a bubble market has a restless pattern that doesn’t conform to the rhythm of normal markets. “People recognize that there’s something unusual, some social contagion that’s moving prices around,” says Camerer. Ultimately, any early-warning system would include information from brain activity, prices and trading volume, as well as chatter in social media and the news. “I’m very optimistic about bubble detection,” says Camerer. Camerer also looks to the brain to discover why investors tend to sell winning stocks too soon and procrastinate about dumping losers—behavior documented years ago by finance professors Terrance Odean and Brad Barber. Camerer found that when people sell winners, even those destined to rise further, activity flares in a part of the brain that assigns value and recognizes rewards. “The ka-ching feeling of locking in that profit, even though it’s a mistake, feels good,” says Camerer. “The lesson is that you somehow have to override that signal.” If you’re reluctant to sell a poorly performing stock because you think it will come back, try this test: Ask yourself if you’re willing to double down and buy more. “If your heart and brain tell you that’s dumb, that’s your way of knowing you don’t really think it’s going to bounce back,” says Camerer. Sounds a lot like the old Wall Street adage: Cut your losses short, but let your profits run. Camerer says he would not be at all embarrassed if “all we discovered is that Warren Buffett is right.”
