INTRODUCTION FROM TRACY RIVERS

Dear CCC Team Members,

As we start to embrace the crisp fall air, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible efforts of our team. With a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive workplace, each team member at the Club does their share to make this the best place to work in Charlotte!

This summer, we had the privilege of working with some world-class interns. Their energy, creativity, and hard work have been truly inspiring. We wish them all the best in their academic pursuits and future endeavors during this school year.

In this edition of our fall newsletter, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our team members, share important benefit reminders, highlight our philanthropic efforts, and even feature some favorite recipes from team members Elvira and Danny!

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each one of you for your hard work and dedication this summer. From long, hot days on the pool deck to chasing around our juniors for camps, your commitment and enthusiasm made this a summer to remember for our members.

Enjoy the newsletter and have a fantastic rest of your fall and holiday season.

With much gratitude,

CCC GIVES BACK

Toy Drive

In December, we gathered toys to donate to Levine Children’s Hospital to spread a little holiday cheer.

Roof Above

In February 2024, the team came together to make 800 sandwiches that were delivered to Roof Above. Roof Above is a comprehensive homeless service provider serving 1,200 people per day through a spectrum of services ranging from street outreach, day services, emergency shelter, and permanent supportive housing.

Back-to-School Drive

The clubhouse interns worked together to collect school supplies to donate to Classroom Central, and they will also hosted a back-to-school bash at the end of July!

BENEFIT REMINDERS

Health Savings Account (HSA)

If you enroll in either high deductible health plan you will qualify for a Health Savings Account (HSA). An HSA is a great way to save money and budget for qualified medical expsenses. HSAs are a tax-advantaged savings account that accompany high deductible health plans (HDHP). HDHPs offer lower monthly premiums in exchange for a higher deductible (the amount you pay before insurance kicks in).

Common HSA-expensed items include:

• Copays for prescriptions and office visits

• Crutches

• Dental care

• Hearing Aids

• Prescription medications

• Vision care

• Wheelchair

For a full list of eligible expenses, please go to healthcare.gov.

Annual Check-Ups

It’s a good idea to see your doctor regularly at any age.

Having an annual physical is important because it helps prevent and detect potential health issues early and ensures you stay on track with your overall well-being. Having a primary care physician (PCP) is important because they know your health history and can provide consistent, ongoing care to keep you healthy.

Annual physicals are free by most insurance carriers. This is an opportunity to check up on your overall health and screen for chronic diseases. These can include diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol prostate, colon, and mammogram.

These screenings are free for team members enrolled in the CCC Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC plan, as they are considered preventive.

CONSTRUCTION CORNER

As you may have noticed, our team is diligently enhancing our campus to reach its utmost potential! In addition to work being done to the Clubhouse, we are also building a brand-new indoor tennis facility and a cart barn named after our very own Mack Ferguson!

DONALD ROSS ROOM & GOVERNORS BAR

You may have noticed some scaffolding and boarded windows around our Clubhouse this summer. The Donald Ross Room and Governors Bar both underwent major replacements of windows. This replacement also included refinishing the columns outside the two areas, the removal of old materials, the installation of new windowsills, new windows, and painting! The rooms really shine with the new windows!

INDOOR TENNIS FACILITY

The Indoor Tennis Facility will house three indoor clay courts. Edison Foard is heading up our construction. Currently, they are working fine grading for the tennis courts, plywood sheathing above amenities, and the main distribution panelboard. This project is moving along and we expect the tennis facility to open this winter!

MACK FERGUSON GOLF FACILITY

The Mack Ferguson Golf Facility will be the new cart barn for the club. Not only will it hold more carts, but it will also include office space, laundry, storage, and more. This will be a great enhancement to our golf operations. Currently, Edison Foard has completed hanging drywall and began finishing the drywall, commenced mounting cable trays, and are working on rough-in gas piping to unit heaters. We can expect this building to open in 2025.

FALL INTO SAFETY

SAFETY BOARD

At CCC, we believe in doing the little things to promote the safety of all. Having a Safety Board is one of those little things!

Did you know that we have one in the Clubhouse? Can you remember where it is located? If you guessed—in front of the Clubhouse Breakroom, then you guessed right!

As the season changes and the exciting holiday months are on the horizon, be sure to stop by the Safety Board and refresh yourself on the tips we have listed. There you can learn essential information like, our CCC Team Members who are CPR certified, what to do if you injure yourself, how to avoid slips, trips, falls and how to help someone who is bleeding; or even unconscious.

Right beside the Safety Board are the Incident Report Packets! Remember to take one of these and fill it out immediately with your supervisor if you ever injure yourself while here at work.

Nelson Mandela once said that safety doesn’t just happen. We hope that you will dedicate yourself to doing the little things that continue to ensure safety for each of us.

DANNY O’NEILS SOUR MIX

Danny is originally from Boston, MA and has been at CCC for just over 16 years! He started out at the Club as a temporary bartender and then later joined our team. You can find him at the famous “Danny’s Bar” in the Grill Room during dinner service. Danny created his famous sour mix in 2019 by trial and error. He wanted to create a sour mix that our members would enjoy and make our cocktails more premier! Once the recipe was tested and approved by the Food and Beverage team, we began using “Danny’s Sour Mix” in all cocktails that required sour mix, and members absolutely loved it!

During the start of COVID, we had to close the Club but continued to offer to-go meals. One item members requested to purchase was the sour mix, which we sold by the quarter so they could make their own cocktails at home. This sour mix is not only great for cocktails, but for mocktails as well!

Check out the recipe below.

Equal parts:

• Orange juice

• Lime juice

• Lemon juice

• Half parts agave syrup and water
