FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
If you ask someone what makes Charlotte Latin School special, more often than not the answer is “the people.” I couldn’t agree more. People are at the heart of Charlotte Latin.
Our faculty and staff are second-to-none. They go above and beyond to ensure students are seen, known, and loved. Our students amaze me every single day—as scholars, athletes, artists, and citizen leaders. Our impressive alumni are thriving around the world, well-prepared for life after Latin. And our parents, grandparents, and parents of alumni are extraordinary.
Your support is essential to Latin’s success, and I am inspired and energized by the way our Latin community comes together to support the Latin Fund. Every year, your gifts are thoughtfully invested in programs, resources, and opportunities that meet our needs and ensure our bright future.
I invite you to join us this year with a gift to the 2023–24 Latin Fund. Not only will your gift sustain Latin’s commitment to excellence, but your participation also demonstrates your support for the people who make Latin such a special place.
With gratitude for a job that I love,

FUNDING A CHARLOTTE LATIN EXPERIENCE
Latin’s Annual Budget
Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a Latin education, so philanthropy is a vital part of our school’s financial model. Every year, the Latin Fund provides essential dollars to support the operating budget, making a direct impact on our students, faculty, and staff.
The Latin Fund aims to raise $2.3 million in the 2023–24 school year.
The Latin Fund at Work
The Latin Fund supports both areas of need and opportunities for innovation, giving our students, faculty, and staff the resources they need to soar.
• Much-needed enhancements to the Lower School playground, including a new drainage system and artificial turf, give our youngest Hawks a safe place to play.
• Regular technology improvements, from infrastructure to products, ensure that technology enhances, and does not interrupt, teaching and learning.
• Classroom upgrades, like new furniture in Middle School science labs and carpet in Upper School math classrooms, create a supportive learning environment.
• An annual Gratitude Bonus, made possible each year thanks to the Latin Fund, is provided to faculty and staff before the holiday season.

PHILANTHROPY AT CHARLOTTE LATIN
We are grateful for the many ways our community gives back with their time, talent, and treasure.
THE LATIN FUND
The Latin Fund is our school’s top philanthropic priority. It is the first and most important gift we ask of our community each year. The 2023–24 Latin Fund aims to raise $2.3 million.
PARENT ORGANIZATIONS
Booster Club, Latin Arts Association, and Parents’ Council provide fellowship and volunteer opportunities. They serve, support, and enhance specific programs. This year, Parents’ Council will host Celebrate Latin in January 2024.
FLY DAY
Every May, we invite our entire community to fly high for Latin on our annual giving day. FLY DAY gifts support the Latin Fund and honor beloved teachers, coaches, and staff.
THE LATIN ENDOWMENT
Latin’s endowment is worth $47 million. Its annual income provides student financial aid, professional development and recognition for faculty and staff, and general operating support.
