STORYSTOCK at Chawton House
Working in partnership to curate a festival that celebrates stories in all their myriad forms and encourages a love of reading in the next generation. From drama, to singing, author talks to treasure hunts in and around the inspirational house and grounds of Jane Austen’s ‘Great House’. The exciting programme includes a wide selection of performances /talks and activities within the general festival ticket. The ticket price of £20 (Adults), £15 (Child) will include admission to the house and grounds, access to the Big Top, Little Top, Craft Tent and free workshops, displays, stalls, storytelling, yoga, treasure hunts and dressing up throughout the day. All shows inside the house will be ticketed at £15 – and these will be workshops in creative writing sessions, illustration drawings, drama master classes and magazine journalism.
When Jane Austen’s brother Edward inherited the Chawton manor house from childless relatives, he offered a nearby cottage on the estate to his mother and two sisters. Jane would spend the most productive years of her literary life there. She regularly came and went along the road between her cottage, now Jane Austen’s House Museum, to the Elizabethan property she called the ‘Great House’, where she dined with her family and ‘dawdled away’ much of her time. The ‘Great House’ is now a visitor attraction – a 400-‐year-‐old house brimming with character and set within a unique ‘quintessentially English’ landscape, gardens and historic parklands – not to mention Austen family heirlooms, as well as a world-‐renowned research centre for early women’s writing.

Become a Sponsor
There are many interesting opportunities for your organisation or company to support our Family Literary Festival this year – from being a headline/venue sponsor to activity and community sponsorship. We want to work in partnership with you – to tailor and profile each sponsorship in the most effective ways – through branding, social interaction and an effective media campaign. In association with StoryStock, we have ambitious plans towards developing this event as an annual family literary festival at Chawton House – hosted within the uniquely ‘quintessential English’ landscape setting, gardens and parklands – in celebration of the legacy that is the global appeal of Jane Austen and works by the important women writers who inspired her, and whom she inspired. We treasure our sponsors and your support will enable us to encourage and inspire a love of reading and writing in the next generation. A core ethos at the heart of both our organisations.
