WHAT DOES THE
FUTURE HOLD?
Do we ever know? How can we prepare, or be aware? Life moves quick, Be thankful for what makes you tick. Unplanned happenings can be scary, but love will always conquer. Not all can be as we dreamed, that’s life, We’re still so lucky to be sharing experiences(good or bad), With none other than the best, so I’m blessed. Without unexpected there would be no expected. Without hate there would be no love. Without death there would be no life. Without dark there would be no light. Without good there would be no bad. So all is all and all is blessed. Thanks life for being the best. Lets preserve it and reserve it for the rest. To breath, to see, to smell, to love, to tell, to share, to care is a blessing, And nothing will change that. Thankful. Survival is the test, To thrive is life’s zest. -Kye Petersen

F O M E T S Y S r e An oth CONTROL... The real is faded. Unfortunately, some things are not built to last. But you know there must be something better. Start with these numbers, 7075. Now understand what 6061 isn’t. Yes, we’re speaking about aluminum. 7075 has higher tensile strength. 7075 has higher shear strength. 7075 bends less easily. 7075 is more damp. 7075 is what all CFR bars are made of. 6061 is what the other guys give you. Wake up to a livelier, stronger and better performing system of control.

The Boondocker 2.0 is our most popular bar for a reason; its got the perfect combination of comfort and control. Things happen when snowmobiling and by using 7075 aircraft aluminum, the Boondocker strength is twice as strong as stock bars and provide an even better feel of what going on. The bar features a 2” quick rise, extending from an oversized, 1 1/8” midsection, which leads to a natural 14° sweep for your arms and wrists. The control response is lively yet damp and the 30” wide Boondocker 2.0 bar has the width necessary for all your controls. The 10° degree forward hook is there for added support in moments of maximum extension and is the extra bit you need during technical tandem riding. It is important to note the Boondocker is an oversized 1 1/8” in the center. A 7/8” to 1 1/8” adapter or a different riser that accepts oversized handlebars might be needed depending on the snowmobile riser you have.

The Crowbar is a non-oversized, 7/8” diameter snowmobile handlebar, which means no different riser or adapter is needed to run these on your stock setup. The 7075 aircraft aluminum helps to keep them straight when things go sideways. The Crowbar bend works for hill climbing, boondocking, ditch banging, water crossing, and most any other situations you get into when snowmobiling.

The Rooster 2.0 is a re-vamped version of our original straight bar. This bar suits a smaller rider that doesn’t want more height in their stance. Hill climbers are fond of this bar as is anyone with a narrow hand shoulder width. The clamp width is 1 1/8” and will require an oversized adaptor to fit stock risers.

Andrew had been cutting down his Boondockers to a 29” width and asked if we could make him a custom bar so he didn’t have to cut his bar down. We went to the drawing board and designed the all new Munster Bar. We wanted everyone riding all different brands to be able to use this handlebar so we dropped the height to 1” which allows the clamping space to be wide enough to work with all brands and still gives enough room on the handlebars for all of your controls. A great all around riding handlebar with less width for a more responsive powerful feeling in tight situations. The narrow width allows the snowmobile to be thrown around easier for riders with a narrower shoulder width or riders who prefer a narrower handlebar.

Progression is a flirt with capability. Inevitably it leads to a line that gets crossed, or in this case, overshot. We push our limits to test ourselves but the real victories don’t come out of success. They are born in failure.
I was more excited and prepared for last season than ever - all the stars were aligning with a good crew, a filmer, and a solid plan in place. I felt strong, not just physically but mentally as well. I got skunked on filming the prior season due to a variety of issues and I was motivated to make up for the loss in this segment. The first day of filming we went to a zone I am comfortable in and have hit many of the features before - I turned down a smaller drop because of sluff potential and some avalanche problems in the inrun - I envisioned getting raked over the cliffs - so I tee’d up a drop that I have done before, pretty straight forward, packed it out, had Borchairs up there holding my bumper into it to control my speed, it felt good, the landing was there, I nailed it .....but maybe 2 feet deep. I stomped it but both my knees crumpled on impact. It’s a crushing feeling. To have all your motivation and drive literally crushed in an instant. @cheetah_snow

Later that week I was feeling sorry for myself when I bumped into world renowned, big mountain snowboarder Jeremy Jones at a cafe in Revelstoke after my injury and as he walked out and away from our conversation he looked back and said “Remember not to waste a good injury.” I had to laugh as it was so simple but so true - and as professional athletes we spend a bit of time injured on the sidelines. There’s always something you can do. It’s a powerful thing, the mind. It’s our most important muscle (or whatever it is). After that reminder from JJ, I knew what I had to do. I had to double down on my injury. I had to excersise my brain to allow myself the space to heal and the chance to do it all again. It meant that even though my season was over, my hustle was just starting and I had to go into this injury with the same concepts as planning my segment - set myself up for success. KESTERKE
R E V O P O H a f o ANATOMY A hop over is the basis for advanced level riding. It is a key move that unlocks all sorts of possibilities in your riding because it allows you to turn on a dime and keep uphill momentum going. There’s a thousand things that go into my hop overs that make them the way they are but trying to copy me exactly may or may not be the best path to learn. Over time you’ll develop your own style and minute techniques which will be better for you than trying to do it my way. There are some pointers that I can send your way that I’ve outlined here.
Eyes : Searching for pivot location. Throttle : Smooth and consistent travel speed.
with
Caleb Kesterke
Eyes : Picking ski location to “carve” the corner. Throttle : Back off Throttle : Wide open for 1/4 second and or 3/4s depending on then pin it to get the snow conditions. nose up.
Eyes : Locked on pivot location.
Slope : 28°+ with traction but enough fresh to control the sled easily.
1 Body Position : Wrong foot forward, arms bent, core braced.
2 Body Position : Weight shifted back, foot planted in the snow.
3 Body Position : Pulling the sled around the planted foot.
Eyes : Looking ahead Throttle : Let off the throttle to control the switch back momentum.
Body Position: Weight transferred over seat, wrong foot forward preloading for hop.
Body Position: Swing the outside foot back, creating pop to bring your body over the seat. @cheetah_snow
16
cheetahfactoryracing.com
DISSECTION Eyes : Looking at your hood.
Throttle : No throttle as you hop over the seat.
Body Position : Following through with the momentum created from swinging the outside foot lift both legs over the seat.
Eyes : Route planning to finish the climb. Brake : Finger on brake, using as needed to keep a smooth sidehill
Throttle : Short blip to set track in sidehill.
Brake : Engage brake after track is set into the hill.
7
Body Position : Outside foot planted to maintain balance.
Body Position : Wrong foot forward, weight forward.
8
Throttle : Steady maintaining sidehill control
My biggest recommendation is to commit to learning hop overs through relentless practice. I spent three years practicing before I could consistently land them, stay motivated and don’t get discouraged if it takes multiple days, weeks or months to learn. Have a buddy record your attempts and then study them and pin point what is going wrong. If you can’t figure it out DM me the video on Instagram and I’ll help you work through it. You got this! -Caleb cheetahfactoryracing.com

Describe a situation that encompassed perfection:
The first 270 I landed up Chatter Creek was just that. I was hitting this really tall natural wind lip a couple times trying to hip it without any luck. It just didn’t seem to work for that type of jump. So I then got this bright idea to spin the other direction and see what happens. The snow was all time and so was visibility and I figured it was the perfect set up to try this new trick. I just went for it. I didn’t tell the photographer or any of my buddy’s and they lost their mind when I tried. First attempt was close. Second I just barely rode away and the third attempt I rode out so clean I held it pinned down the entire landing! That feeling of satisfaction is what drives me to keep pushing everyday on the sled!
What’s the secret formula to unlocking your greatest potential?
I honestly don’t think it’s a secret. I believe it’s just about having fun and doing it for yourself at the end of the day. Work hard at your goals and what’s most important to accomplish for yourself. Do what you truly love and the rest is history. Aaaaaaand ride lots!!

One session that comes to mind was on this gap jump called “chief” while we were filming for the Burton movie “13.” We had built it on a day with intentions on hitting it, but it was just too windy, so we called it, came back the next morning. The takeoff was super solid, no wind. Me and Jussi each got a bunch of shots on it. It ended up being the last four shots of my part that year, and had a cover shot of SBC. Super fun session. Super memorable.

What do you think about social media? I wish I was born in a time before social media.
Complete the following sentences:
Style is:
everything. I think once you figure out what kind of a rider or athlete that you are your riding benefits sooo much from it! Everyone rides a little different and has assets in different aspects so figure out your style and let it all hang out!
personal.
what ever you want it to be.
get you paid.
Hard work will:
pay off and will make you look back on where you’ve been and what you’ve accomplished and be proud as beans.

Social media posting can:
make you go crazy if you aren’t doing it for the right reasons! Remember to not follow the herd and blaze your own trail!
well, sometimes you think you know someone, and then you see how they portray themselves on the internet... and it can be a bit of an eye opener.
remembering why I started snowmobiling and why I have always wanted to go ride soo bad year after year!
spending time finding new terrain, not always riding the same stuff just to get a “shot.”
thinking of getting absolutely pitted on my sled.
Wawaweewa! I don’t know what to do with my hands. HELL YES I will go sledding!

AARON LEYLAND iRack 2.0. with a snowboard bracket kit and a custom tripod strap.
I worked at the local ice rink as a kid but I can’t say it was terrible, it was pretty rad and paid for all my gas money to go snowboarding. I’ve been pretty lucky to be pushing buttons on cameras and computers since then, can’t complain. In sledding I think I’m the most stoked on the sled crews that just love busting into new zones for the adventure of it. I think every mountain town probably has a crew of unsung sledders who are more motivated to explore and ride new terrain than anything else. In snowboarding I just love seeing the new features people find every changing Winter, the constant progression of freestyle into bigger mountains will never get boring. Also the younger generation of slopestyle riders are getting sleds now and making their way into backcountry so its cool to see their creativity out there.
Do you need a RED camera to be a successful cinematographer?
Not at all, the camera is just a tool, sure certain ones are more suited for sports than others and may allow for flexibility with shooting or in post. A good eye and a good attitude go a long way, and there are plenty of great cameras out there that’ll get the job done, much more than 5 or 10 years ago.
BRETT TURCOTTE On my mountain sleds I use the 3” Knucks risers, my Turcotte bend bar, and a pair of CFR grips and hand warmers. (Pro tip) by preference of feel and comfort, I safety tie wire my grips on, instead of using glue or paint.
JAMIE IWASCHUCK
GRAHAM AGASSIZ
I run the Turcotte bar with a 3”knucks riser and CFR grips. I also have a mountain rack with snowboard bracket kits.
The SMX bar and oversized bar adapters on the Snowbike, and the Turcotte bar and 3” knuckle riser, Link-It-Up rack, and Dime Bag for my sled.
Honestly logging. Not that the job sucked, just getting up at 2am did!
The worst job I have ever had was definitely Quiznos. It lasted about 2 weeks and I was only 14 or 15 lol but it still sucked.
Bushy Wayne, Caleb Kesterke, Mike Rencz, Andreas Bergmark, Graham Agassiz, these dudes all kill it in different aspects!
I’m inspired by athletes who are on the mountain to have a good time. I have always looked up to Carl Kuster mostly because he grew up in a place Brett Turcotte, Cody Matechuck, Kye that definitely is not known for its Peterson, Mikey Rencz, Travis Rice... snowmobiling but still made his dream a reality. Andrew Munster is another pretty amazing dude, he doesn’t say to much but shit can he ride.
Elk hunting, pow shred with friends, winning X Games, FMX session, trout fishing, Netfix and chill with the wifey: pick 3.
Funniest guiding experience?
Netflix and chill, winning x, pow shred. The rest are so friggin good, but these rate as most important in my mind!
If you’re ever getting a guide, don’t say you’re an advanced rider if you’re not an advanced rider lol.

WALLACE WORLD
I don’t have time for this sh#t. Yeah you do. You find time.
Teaching your pet tarantula to yodel or driving 30 hours to go snowboarding somewhere new, if it’s something you’ve always wanted to do, you better find time because the clock is ticking. If the current state of the world is teaching us anything, the clock can’t be wound back to a better time. What if we actually ran out of toilet paper? Think about that the next time you sit down on the porcelain throne with your favorite reading material, make your deposit, reach over to unroll the white gold only to find there is none. Bet you wished you grabbed 6 or 7 thousand rolls last time you were at the store. What I’m getting at is that it’s time to start knocking things off your to do list. Now. - Photos, words and videos worth checking out - by Colin Wallace
