Forgiveness Perspective Forgiveness 101 Author: Malia Battilana
The other day at a restaurant, I watched this elderly man sitting quietly in his chair watching his family having a conversation. His breathing was shallow and his shoulders looked tight and hunched over. His eyes were squinty and sharp and his mouth looked pinched and firm. As I observed him, he seemed closed off from his family and yet it seemed like I could feel anger and self-loathing emanating from him. His quiet staunchness was louder to me than the other people who were actually talking. His wife appeared to be ignoring him and she had her back to him. It made me wonder what their story was.
