MANY people either look forward to the festive pe riod and begin their countdown to Christmas in Oc tober, while others are left running for the hills to AIDS HELPLINE avoid the ‘silliness’ that comes with the season. 0800-012-322 As we get ready to wind down and take a breath er, we decided to reflect on some of the wonderful United we can reasons to celebrate the year that was. Yes, we can talk about some of the lowlights as well (no pun on the word ‘lights’), but that would not be very festive at all. The team at the Fever has had a wonderful year and has shared some truly remarkable memories with you. We’ve had an actionpacked year from meeting wonderful individuals who are slowly changing their communities one step at a time to covering campaigns that shows a proactive community who are willing to fight for their beloved home towns. To those people who are continuously going the

extra mile to serve others, we would like to salute you and thank you for allowing us to share your sto ries. This year South Africans voted hoping for the best – many are now glued to the parliament ses sion coverage because you never know what to ex pect. In 2015 we will be joining the queues for the byelections and once again, hoping for positive change. We know we live in a beautiful city and another reason to be a proud Durbanite is Durban has been voted an official new Seven Wonder City of the world. The picturesque beaches, rolling hills and breathtaking skyline together with a host of won derful inhabitants, sets us apart from the rest of South Africa. After 40 years, the Miss World title is held by a South African.

Many believe his spirit still lives on calling it a sprinkling of ‘Madiba magic’. Dear Readers, TODAY marks the end of another year for the Hillcrest Fever, and as the festivities kick off for this season, let us reflect on moments that touched our lives and the community this past year. 2014 has been marked by persistent challenges in our economy with price inflations (food, electricity, fuel, etc.). Drugs claim lives of two near Ashdown >> One deceased is 19 and other is 30 “He clenched his jaws, took his clothes off and said he was overheating. One of my neighbours helped me with their car to transport him to Edendale Hospital. While we were waiting to fill in admission forms, he passed on,” said Zibuyile. She said that if everything goes according to plan, Nkosingiphile will be buried this coming weekend. “He was a quiet person and loved joking around after having his drink. He was respectful and I will miss him,” recalled Zibuyile before she continued saying that the area is inflicted with a cocktail of drugs with street names such as Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Lacoste and Umbrella. “Drug abuse is high in Gomorrah. After people have taken drugs they hallucinate and they take their clothes off. The community needs to come together to fight drug abuse and put a stop to the drug dens,” she urged. Nkosingiphile was a third victim of drug abuse in his community. Ward 23 councillor, Dumisani Phungula said that just recently a 14year-old pupil was admitted to hospital after taking Mercedes. “These are all separate incidents. I have spoken to grieving families and there is a need to fight drug abuse in

RUGS have claimed lives of two people who reside in Gomorrah near Ashdown. Residents claim the deceased had taken the deadly drug called Mercedes, which recently claimed lives of seven KwaMashu residents and left more than 57 in hospital. One of the deceased is believed to be 19 and the other is 30-year-old Nkosingiphile “Ace” Madlala. Madlala took his last breath at 3am on Monday at the Edendale Hospital while waiting for medical attention. Zibuyile stayed in Gomorrah with her brother Nkosingiphile. He was the youngest of his siblings. “The signs showed that he was using drugs. On Sunday he had gone out to visit his friends. They called me at around 12am on Sunday and said that I should come and fetch him because he was hallucinating and had become unruly. I fetched him and when we arrived at home he started bleeding from his nose and his tongue changed colour. He screamed saying that there were people who were attacking him. He also complained of a severe tummy ache.

the area. We can only do that by identifying people who sell drugs in the community. Those people are well known and through partnership between the community and the police we can fight this,” said Phungula. He added that drug sellers target shebeens, taverns and schools as distribution points for the merchandise. “This is where they sell drugs. They sell drugs where there is a lot of youth. This is a big concern for our ward.

“There is a high rate of drug abuse and drug dealing in ward 23. We are far from ending this war. This does not only affect ward 23 but the whole city. “This problem is beyond us. It needs a radical approach. We want to see the drug dealers arrested and sentenced,” said Phungula. Police spokesperson Sergeant Mthokozisi Ngobese said one case of inquest was reported three weeks ago of a young female who died at Imbali Stage 3 and was from Gomorrah. He said he was later told by

Councillor Phungula that another youngster had died. “As we speak I’m in the stakeholders’ meeting called by the Cluster Commander Major General Ngobese, NGOs, CBOs. Business Against Crime, station commanders, Hawks, Youth Desk and CPF, all departments, district and local municipalities, councillors and amakhosi,” he said adding that all met for a dialogue against subtance abuse. “...we will arrest the culprits shortly, he said.

Municipality to tackle land invasions >> Land invasions occur every day and municipal security personnel is struggling to stop this trend NQOBILE MTOLO >>nqobile.mtolo@media24.com

T

HE Msunduzi Municipality wants to move swiftly in addressing illegal land invasion taking place around Pietermaritzburg by implementing a land invasion and anti-land invasion strategy. Land invasions occur every day and the Msunduzi Municipality’s security personnel, which is mostly reactive rather than proactive in this matter, is struggling to stop this trend. A detailed report from the economic development committee states that the emerging land invasion in Msunduzi happens when “affluent people invade council and state land to build expensive homes with the incentive of not paying rates, and in some cases, getting free municipal services”. Land invasion undermines proper planning processes, prejudices rightful beneficiaries of housing opportunities, impacts negatively on housing delivery and

sometimes interrupts service delivery, states that report. The KZN Department of Human Settlements put together the KZN provincial land monitoring and anti-land invasion strategy to help municipalities fight this crisis. The municipality is planning to set aside R3 million during the mid-term adjustment budget for an external security service provider which will barricade invasions. Msunduzi’s deputy municipal manager for economic development Dr Ray Ngcobo recently told the Executive Committee that security will have to act within six hours of the invasion. “All municipalities must establish the Municipal Rapid Response Team [MRRT] so that decisions are taken on the spot by the senior officials. We have already hired an invasion officer on contract. In terms of current court cases it is the responsibility of the municipality to provide alternative accommodation after people have

settled for longer than six days,” said Ngcobo. The MRRT comprises of the mayor, speaker, municipal manager, head of human settlements department, legal representatives, land invasion unit, community safety and crime prevention unit, risk management personnel, SAPS and public order police. Lands invasion is a nationwide phenomena and has been linked to urbanisation, the lack of formal housing, poverty and unemployment and shack farming. The external security company will also assist the municipality as it loses money dealing with land invasion court cases rather than preventing them. “We have a disaster ahead of us. It cannot happen fast enough. We have not provided land for people to buy for themselves. That also must be addressed urgently,” said councillor Judith Lawrence. Ngcobo said in their town land planning plans, they have identified land for RDP construction and land for

conditional land use. The identified hot spots in the northern boundary are Nkululeko, Regina Road, Ezinketheni, Nhlalakahle, Ottos Bluff, Beacon Hill Farm, Tamboville, Glenwood, Bishopstowe and Noordsberg Road. In the southern boundary, the hot spots are Peace Valley, Signal Hill, Harewood, Ashdown, Marikane, Mkhondeni, Unit H, Water Works, Sinathingi Forest, Azalea Cemetery, EE Extension and Ambleton areas. The land invasion in Vulindlela has been identified as a problem for proper land use and development. Land invasions halt proper supply of municipal services. Msunduzi Municipality’s Mandla Zuma said: “Formal invasion are created by izinduma (tribal chiefs). By the time we want development we will be left with nothing. It’s going to be a difficult one because we will be expected to provide basic services, no matter where they reside. Once you

‘We have a disaster ahead of us. It cannot happen fast enough. We have not provided land for people to buy for themselves’

have a settlement, formal or informal, you have to provide services while dealing with issues of urban planning. “Water and electricity are basic human rights and we have to provide that. We need to engage with them in terms of Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (Spluma). In Vulindlela they allocate land as they wish. We have already had three meetings with amakhosi on the Vulindlela local area plan,” said Zuma.

‘There is talent is Pietermaritzburg, but not a lot of support for them from authorities’

IETERMARITZBURG hiphop duo Thokozani “Mc Killah” Xaba and Njabulo “Silent Killah” Nsimbi plan to take the South African music scene by storm. This comes at a time when their first song, Wadlala Ngami, received more than 50 000 YouTube views. They have also been guest artists on Ukhozi FM after the song caught the attention of Ukhozi FM DJ Tshatha. Mc Killah and Silent Killah’s manager, Senzo Zwane, said the duo did a feature of Tshatha’s album, which was released in 2014. “From 2014 until now they are the co-hosters of the Ukhozi FM Hip Hop Showwith DJ Tshatha that airs every fortnight Friday from 11pm to 1am. They have performed at the Ukhozi FM Nyusi Volume Music Festival and have been the opening performance for South African hip-hop artist, Riky Rick, at the Durban University of Technology’s fresher’s bash. Mc Killah and Silent Killah have just released their new track - Sexy Ladies as their first commercial song. They compose and produce their music under DB9 Media. Along their journey they have worked with Abdus, Mazweni, Moja Pooh, Tyrone and Siya Shezi, to mention a few. “Before I started out as an artist I was influenced by Durban artist Sean G and many other vernac hip-hop artists. “At school I won a rap competition and that is how I was given the name Mc Killah. There is talent is Pietermaritzburg but there isn’t a lot of support from local authorities. However, we will make it against all odds. There isn’t any artist in Pietermaritzburg who is as famous as us,” said Xaba. Zwane said that Pietermaritzburg artists need to show their talent by going commercial.

Pastor uplifts, heals Gomorrah JERRY BARNES IN the old days and biblically speaking, Sodom and Gomorrah were cities of sin where all sorts of social ills were the order of the day, and according to the Bible, God destroyed them in anger. Next to the Edendale main road near the Imbali intersection, opposite Indumiso’s DUT Campus, there is also a place called Gomorrah, but it has been saved and is loved. An Ashdown pastor, Goodman Jonkoro, has started a church with the Gomorrah community and has begun a programme to fight social ills that plague Gomorrah. Jonkora says the majority of people in the area are unemployed and there are many high-school drop-outs, on

top of them being poor, alcoholics and drug addicts. “The area is infested with all kinds of social ills. It is heart-breaking to see young and old people abusing alcohol and taking drugs, however, we are not throwing in the towel and we have decided to join hands and introduce community projects in order to save our community. “We are very lucky because Plessislaer police station and Gift of the Givers are very supportive,” said Jonkoro. A community member, Sifiso Dlamini, said the entire community is not only affected by drugs, there is also high level of crime and poor living conditions are prevalent. The church has started community projects, including life-skill classes and education programmes about child, women and substance abuse. Recently, Jonkoro held a community prayer about Gomorrah at his church and Gift of the Givers handed out toiletry packs to 150 community members.

After the 30 June deadline a panel of six contest management committee members will review the applications and then select the 30 finalists. “For the first time this year we will celebrate cultural diversity in our youth and contestants will wear ethnic or cultural diversity. They will later change into their swimwear and formal evening wear. We want people to know about the competition well before the closing date so they have time to prepare themselves as we are targeting the whole of KZN. “We have extended an invitation to 2016 Miss South Africa, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene and SABC1.” Nkosi said this year they are planning to raise funds for 300 pupils, who need school uniforms, with a target amount of R150 000.

NTRIES for the 2016 Face of KZN model search contest are now open to women and men between the ages of 18 and 35 in KZN. Entries close on 30 June and finalists will battle it out at a pageant at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on 3 September. Competition organiser, Bengs Nkosi, said he is planning to make this year’s event even bigger than previous years’. Although he is yet to confirm the sponsors for the competition, he said there will be tons of prizes to be won. “Prizes will include trophies, certificates, sashes, bouquets and lot more prizes. Last year we had about R53 000 worth of prize vouchers from sponsors.

“The Face of KZN competition was my vision back in 2010 as I wished the youth could empower themselves in the modelling field. “Modelling is more than just walking the ramp - it teaches one public speaking skills, etiquette, time management and manners, in general,” said Nkosi. The winners will choose two non-governmental or non-profit organisations which they will partner with during their reign. Nkosi said it is important for the youth to recognise obstacles that hinder them from achieving their dreams. “We also teach the youth about HIV/ Aids, teenage pregnancy, STIs, STDs and domestic violence. They need to be aware of what stops them in their tracks.”

The downside was that the radio station was “pirated”, however, this didn’t deter him and he gave it his all and his talent was recognised by many in his community. “I used to do an afternoon show after school and even worked on weekends because I loved what I was doing, never mind that the radio station was operating illegally. “I have always wanted to be part of the media industry and have always had a love and passion for the media. Instead of waiting for opportunities, I prefer to make things happen myself in

order to showcase my talent. Hopefully one day someone will recognise the talent in me.” The radio station eventually closed down, but as an on-air personality for Radio Al Ansaar, Phungula felt there was more he could do to improve his broadcasting skills and has been part of the radio station since March 2015. “My colleagues have been very supportive and I am thankful for that. When I first started to do the YouTube videos I did not know what I was doing, but watched a lot of YouTube videos and surfed the internet to learn how to edit my own videos. The videos highlight the unsung heroes from our communities. “There are a lot of people who are do-

NORTHDALE Hospital contract staff on Tuesday downed tools to picket outside the hospital, voicing concerns over issues of outsourcing at the facility. The group of about 50 cleaners and security guards contracted by the hospital sang and danced outside the entrance, waving placards. The protesters called for the end of staff outsourcing and alleged mistreatment of staff by hospital management.

Speaking to The Witness during the protest, Congress of South African Trade Unions local chairperson Chief Dlamini said the union expects the hospital to absorb cleaning and security staff. “We do not want any outsourcing in any government institution ... the staff need decent jobs,” Dlamini said. “We as a union will keep an eye on the hospital’s achievements in this matter.” Local Cosatu chairperson Chief Dlamini addresses protesting staff at the Northdale Hospital on Tuesday. When friends, lovers leave no trace behind I MET this guy a week ago, he blew my eyes away I swear he was all a girl could ever ask for, he was my prince charming What else could a girl living the campus life ask for? I left home to further my studies, he understood I left home a virgin, he respected I left home with my parents blessings and my own set of rules, he abided I knew to keep our hearts energised I had to always be by his side I knew to keep him perky I had to bend my rules a little The next sunrise I found myself waking in his

room, on his bed and all codes broken He assured nothing went wrong, I smiled and told him how much I loved him Three weeks later, he graduated and even graduated to not picking my calls I started feeling sick, belly grew bigger by the minute and I couldn’t visit home Why did I fall victim to every college girl’s nightmare? Lovers left, friends gone Who else can I turn to when friends and lovers of the moment leave no trace behind? MANDLA MOSIA Edendale

IT is with deep disappointment to have learnt of the resignation of the chairperson of the Mountain Rise Community Police Forum, Jay Jugwanth. Community policing is a concept that was adopted more than 20 years ago in South Africa. It has proved to be an essential partnership between the communities and SAPS. Jugwanth an experienced retired, teacher devoted his retirement and many years to community service and SAPS Media reports and the community that he

was involved with always reported positively on Jugwanth’s commitment to improve the relations between the community and SAPS. Community awareness in the CPF was high for the first time in the Mountain Rise station’s areas of jurisdiction. Both the community and SAPS have lost an excellent and enthusiastic individual. It is indeed a sad occasion for all. LOGAN GOVENDER Pietermaritzburg

AS far as I am aware, speakers, whether in the national assembly, provincial legislatures, or in municipalities, are supposed to be politically neutral, and not openly advertise their bias towards a particular party. The previous week’s Constitutional Court’s ruling that MPs have the right for their questions to be answered, will definitely change how business is conducted in Parliament. No more will Baleka Mbete be able to order opposition members out of the house, no matter how unpalatable questions may be. It’s now time the speaker is ordered out of the chair that she occupies, and a neutral speaker chosen.

In the Msunduzi Municipality, the speaker is trying to fool ratepayers in the northern areas into believing that the indigent policy is an ANCled benefit, whereas it is something that is allowed for in our Constitution. The speaker’s nonneutrality and his bias towards his ANC masters is plain for ratepayers to see. The other parties have been filling in indigent forms for many years. It is strange the extent to which ANC deployees will go to claim selfcredit for something that is in our Constitution. DALEEP SAN Mountain Rise

Many city walls have posters advertising ‘illegal’ abortions plastered on them.

ECHO

Illegal abortions remain a major concern >> SA has one of the most progressive abortion laws in the world

NICOLE JOHN >>nicole@pmbfever.co.za

D

ESPITE the serious consequences of illegal abortions, women continue to go to back-street abortionists for so-called “pain free” and “safe” abortions. KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo has been on a campaign since November 2015 sensitising the public to the implications of this through an antiillegal abortion campaign. Dhlomo said in a press release, that data from the Department of Health information service reflects that in 2014-2015 alone, 20 013 patients were admitted in various provincial

health institutions due to incomplete abortions and a further 1 455 abortions were septic. He said one of the contributing factors to women seeking back-street, illegal abortionists is because some health-care professionals pass moral judgments on them when they seek reproductive health services. This level of pressure, coming from nurses and other medical staff are, in some ways, sending women to illegal abortionists for fear of being ridiculed and their abortion becoming news, which spreads through their community. “We are trying to remind our health-care professionals about the importance of upholding professional ethics at all times. This includes

creating a conducive environment for everyone who seeks health care, regardless of age. The Hippocratic Oath and Nurses’ Pledge compel doctors and nurses to keep patient information private and confidential at all times - it is very important,” he said. South Africa has one of the most progressive abortion laws in the world where women legally have the right to terminate a pregnancy up to the 20th week of pregnancy according to the Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Amended Act of 2008. “What is alarming is that we see these illegal abortion providers on the street corners distributing their illegal abortion pamphlets. We also

see these adverts plastered on nearly all street walls and lamp posts. The proliferation of this advertising makes many women believe they are accessing a legitimate service, when they are not. In fact, these people who do back-street abortions are health murderers,” said Dhlomo. According to the Act a legal termination of a pregnancy can only take place at a facility which has access to medical and nursing staff, an operating theatre, appropriate surgical equipment, drugs for intravenous and intramuscular injection, has necessary medical and emergency equipment, appropriate infection control measures, gives access to safe waste

>> Maritzburg United, Golden Arrows out

K

WAZULU-NATAL teams Maritzburg United and Lamontville Golden Arrows have been bundled out of the Nedbank Cup. While Maritzburg United were beaten 2-0 by Mpumalanga Black Aces at KwaNyamazane on Saturday, Arrows suffered the same score defeat at the hands of National First Division’s Baroka FC at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday. The NFD leaders, who beat Chippa United in their tournament opener, claimed another Absa Premiership scalp via goals either side of the break from Jacky Motshegwa and Man of the Match Loyiso Simandla. Arrows ended the match with 10 men as Thabo Molefe was shown a straight red card for a stray elbow on Motshegwa with seven minutes left. Abafana Bes’thende showed early

Nedbank Cup last 16: Arrows vs Baroka intent, as Nduduzo Sibiya struck the upright in the sixth minute after a strong run down the left flank. At the other end, Mfundhisi Chauke tested Ricardo Goss with a useful freekick in the 15th minute. The visitors then stole ahead on the stroke of half-time after Musa Bilankulu was harshly penalised by referee Victor Gomes for a tackle on Donald Mokondelela in the area. Motshegwa scored on the follow-up after his re-taken penalty was saved by Goss. Clinton Larsen’s men showed intent at the restart, as Thembela Sikhakhane drew out a fine save by Masuluke Oscarine early into the second period. However, Simandla made it 2-0 in the 75th minute, with the hosts dealt a further blow when Molefe was dismissed late on. - KickOff.com

City ‘karate kid’ to represent South Africa at continental event THABANG MATHEBULA A PIETERMARITZBURG “karate kid” is set to fight for a big belt in the Africa Zone 6 continental championships. The tournament, involving seven countries, will be held in Zimbabwe in May. Zahra Kader (14) is the reigning provincial and national junior karate champion, and the only junior Protea from Pietermaritzburg. Zahra was also selected to represent the country at the UFAK tournament, a championship in which 53 countries take part, and which is set take place in Durban in July. The Grade 8 pupil from Maritzburg Muslim School for Girls said she is well aware of the role and responsibility she has in representing the country. She successfully defended her title recently, winning a gold medal and a silver in a national tournament on 17 March. That victory earned her a spot in the national team to represent the country in the Africa Zone 6 tournament. Zahra said her aim is to earn conti-

cause I want to win more championships and rankings. I know I have a big role to represent my country. I know it comes with a lot of responsibility. I am

ready,” she said. Zahra said she ensures she balances her studies and sport. “My coach would always tell us we should

Golden Arrows release Khenyeza GOLDEN Arrows striker Mabhudi Khenyeza has been released by the club after falling out of favour with head coach Clinton Larsen and assistant Mandla Ncikazi. The veteran hitman only featured twice for Arrows this year, most recently in a 1-0 league loss to Bidvest Wits on 6 February. Khenyeza boasts over 100 PSL goals in his career, but Larsen says it was a simple decision to part ways with the 33-year-old. “What happened was we decided to release him because he’s not part of the plan going forward for now until the end of the season,” Larsen tells KickOff.com. “We will assess the situation at the end of the season. I was unhappy with the contribution he was making and I said it before everybody must be treated the same, and maybe it worked with other coaches differently where he commanded more gametime. “I can’t promise any player that and he was unhappy about that and the best thing for him is not to upset my team, to be at home. So it was a simple decision. “Mabhudi wasn’t happy with the fact that he wasn’t getting the gametime that he was expecting. “All we asked him was to support the other players like they supported

Guys like Ryan Chapman, [Mwape] Musonda and [Rodney] Ramagalela were supporting him when he wasn’t playing regularly and we wanted him to do that. “We can’t promise any player game-time ... we will field players based on what they do at training and

based on what they are doing in matches, so it was a simple decision,” reiterates Larsen, who effectively traded jobs with Bloemfontein Celtic boss Serame Letsoaka in December. Khenyeza was playing for Mpumalanga Black Aces before returning to Abafana Bes’thende in January 2014. – KickOff.com

IF we do not take care of the roots, football at the top will remain mediocre. Leadership continues to fail the youth of this country. We spend more time and energy fighting for positions and control of resources. We are very good in writing good plans on expensive paper, the challenge is that very few are keen to get their hands dirty. I have attended a number of Safa UMgungundlovu council meetings. The quality of English spoken and understanding of Safa statutes is excellent and yet no teams or individual players are progressing to

keep our heads small and our dreams big. Both school and karate are important to me.” At school, Zahra has started a karate class for females. She said young women should learn to defend themselves, especially in a society tainted by crime. “Karate teaches one respect and discipline, and there is always something new to learn about it,” she said. Proteas head coach Brando Pillay said Zahra stands a good chance of becoming a world champion. “Zahra is a hardworking athlete and very consistent, with potential to win the world championship,” he said. “She has been in the top three nationally for three years and now she is a champion.” Zahra’s father Asgar Kader, who currently runs four karate dojos in Pietermaritzburg and occasionally helps Zahra with training, said he was happy his daughter is making such good progress. However, her parents always urged the young girl to balance her studies and sport, he said.

the next levels. Football is about the work done in the fields. The sooner people focus on what is between the four lines, the better. Umsunduzi Local Football Association has a responsibility to lead this district. They say when PMB sneezes the rest of UMgungundlovu catches flu. We are the biggest and strongest in terms of numbers and resources. Currently, I do not think we are doing justice to what we are supposed to. We have not produced any national team player for many years and no teams have been promoted to Motsepe and NFD leagues. We are on the same level as the smaller municipalities in our district. It is also interesting that nationally the debate is about suitability of Shakes Mashaba. South African football has failed to progress in the past 20 years. It cannot always be about individuals (national coaches) who are the problem. The sooner those who have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading, focus on core issues the better. The slate politics is not helping the growth of football. The game needs as many people as possible to grow. The mismanagement of football at lower levels drives young people to alcohol and drugs. The black youth majority continue to suffer in the new South Africa. Let us do the right thing. Unzima lo mthwalo.

Judgement Day for Maritzburg United United >> ‘Do or die’ game for home team against Pretoria visitors JERRRY BARNES

T

HE league game for Maritzburg United against University of Pretoria will be a do or die for the home team, and the Team of Choice will have to earn maximum points this time. A win against the visiting Tuks will also mean moving away from the relegation zone or last position for the first time in the season. Last weekend the PMB outfit bowed out of the Nedbank Cup after going down 2-0 to Mpumalanga Black Aces away. Team of Choice communications manager Brian Zuma says their match against the Pretoria visitors will be a six pointer and he can’t imagine themselves faltering. “It is unfortunate that we lost 2-0 to Aces during the Nedbank Cup because we really wanted to advance to the next round. Our priority is the PSL status and on Saturday will be the D-Day for us. “In fact this clash will be treated like a final by both teams. Our aim or our thoughts are simple and straight froward, we want to win this game at all cost and earn maximum points in order to move away from the bottom of log table for the very first time,”said Zuma. Last weekend against Aces, the Team of Choice fielded the majority of fringe players but were able to launch a handful of attacks. Against Tuks the home side is likely to field the Perfume strongest and the best side available. United’s influential players Kurt Lentjies, Evans Rusike, Philani Zulu, Deolin Mekoa and R375 Kwanda 100ml Mngonyama will be expected to play a SAVE leading role, and R deliver the goods. Tuks head coach “ORIGINAL” Shaun Bartlett’s mission is to survive relegation and the campaign will start

against United at Harry Gwala Stadium. “Both teams are involved in the relegation battle and our clash will be very tense. “We want to win it at all cost,” said Bartlett. Tuks players who are expected to give the Team of Choice a good run for their money includeLennox Bacela, Thabo Mnyamane and Atusaye Nyondo.
