REmoving Someone from Your Inner Circle
"IHONESTY TRULY IS THE BEST POLICY WHEN YOU’RE DEALING WITH ENDING A FRIENDSHIP OR COOLING IT OFF FOR A BIT. ~CHERYL LACEY DONOVAN
06
First of all, be present when breaking off a friendship. Schedule a time where you can both meet on neutral ground, at a coffee shop or café, or somewhere similar. Your friend deserves more than just a text message or an email, and you are a bigger person than to do that, right? If there’s no way you can get together, at least give them the courtesy of a phone call. But don’t get into details when attempting to schedule a meeting... just say you’d like to meet. Now isn’t the time to get into why.
When you do meet, or call, know exactly what you want to say. Be confident, both inwardly and outwardly, and clear about what you’d like to happen to the friendship – whether you want to cut off all contact, or whether you’d like the friendship to simply have different boundaries and expectations. Be prepared to listen to your friend, and entertain ideas you possibly hadn’t thought of. Though, if you’re set on ending the friendship altogether, be clear about that, and stick to your guns.
07
Honesty truly is the best policy when you’re dealing with ending a friendship or cooling it off for a bit. Approach your friend with love, if you are able, because that will make the words you say kinder and gentler. State the facts – that the relationship has changed, and that you’ve been thinking about what to do about it. Make it more about you than blaming them for anything. If you do need to get into specifics (and you very well might want to – that’s okay), don’t do it from a blaming perspective. Turn things around so that you’re making a lot of “I” statements. Be thoughtful and conscious of your friend’s feelings when talking about what went wrong. Be honest, talk about facts, but be ready for your friend to feel hurt and defensive. This is where kindness will pay off. Still, as we’ve said previously, stick to what your plan is for the friendship. Finally, take some time to yourself, if needed, to mourn the loss of the friendship.
PANDEMIC: IDENTIFYING WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN'T CONTROL IS KEY FOR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL RELIEF
CHERYL LACEY DONOVAN
The coronavirus pandemic is leaving grocery stores without toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and other essentials nearly all over the world. We look around us and see anxious looks on people’s faces, and it is no wonder that we begin to feel stressed and worried. We cannot predict how long our lives will feel like this, so we are all left in a state of hysteria and confusion. This epidemic is leaving us without jobs and income, and it is taking an emotional and mental toll on everyone. When we feel overwhelmed and uncertain, we obsess over the news and try to play out future scenarios in our heads.
However, these techniques leave us in
an even worse state and can be detrimental to mental wellbeing. Identifying what is not in your control and letting go of those worries is key during times of uncertainty like these. Anxiety is inevitable during these unpredictable times, but when we recognize and accept it, we can stay in control of the mind and realize that there are many things that are out of our control. We cannot change the fact that grocery stores are limited, hospitals are at capacity, and we cannot force the isolation rules to be lifted. Instead of over analyzing the news, it is important to recognize that these things are occurring and that everyone is going through these worrying feelings with us, even when we feel alone.

Connect with others

Listen to your mind Rather than sitting with negative thoughts all day and letting them overpower you, this is a great time to learn about connecting with your mind and start practicing ways to connect with yourself. Whether it be breathing techniques, meditation, or even writing in a gratitude journal, your mental and emotional health will improve significantly, and you will be able to analyze your worries from an outside perspective. Even though we cannot control the situation, we can control the way we react to it and adjust to our surroundings. Connect with Others When you are feeling trapped in the house and do not have human interaction with friends and your community, it is very normal to start to feel isolated and lonely. Although we cannot control the need for staying home, we can adapt to it and connect with others through technology. You can call or video chat with your loved ones and catch up with people you have not spoken to in a while due to the digital availability at our fingertips.
Proper Sleep Schedule Sleep is one of the best ways to reduce stress levels and improve your mental health when you are unable to leave the house. Getting the same number of hours each night will keep you feeling energized and will allow you to feel more structured on a daily basis. Routine Although you cannot control the way that your routine has changed compared to a month ago, you can control the way you adapt and adjust. It can be very easy to lay in be all day or not have any structure in your life because you are home all day. However, staying on top of your morning routine no matter what you have to do each day will keep you motivated and accountable to stay productive.

Father's Day is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year on June 19, and it all began when a young woman wanted to honor her dad. "Invest in your travel fund and see the world as early as you can."
Miranda Lopez
While you’re young, you should travel. You should take the time to see the world and taste the fullness of life. Walk the streets of Paris. See the Great Wall of China. Get your heart broken by the “killing fields” of Cambodia. Swim through the Great Barrier Reef. These are the moments that define the rest of your life; they’re the experiences that stick with you forever. Traveling will change you like little else can. It will put you in places that will force you to care for issues that are bigger than you. You will begin to understand that the world is both very large and very small.
Not Today But Everyday is Mother's Day Hita Prem
A woman is a daughter, sister, and wife but above all, she plays the role of being a Mother. A day would never be enough to let her know how special she is but there's no harm in celebrating a day where we could all tell our mothers that we owe our life to them. Although we deny listening to her advice most of the time, we know that a mother knows best. From our first word to our first friend, our first teeth to the first fall, our moms have been the most integral part of the journey. A mother would know when her child is in pain and when they are hungry, and there can be no better cure than sleeping in her lap. She is the first teacher of our life and the only one who never punished us for the wrong deeds rather taught us the lesson, good or bad. SI rely on her not only during my needs but during all the turmoil of my life because there's no better guide than her. A childhood of a person sows seeds such that we turn into adults and our moms play the most important role in shaping it into a beautiful garden. I can never be thankful enough to my mother for every little thing she has done for me but I can be sorry for all those times I haven't valued her words. There are times where we consider ourselves to be an adult and we neglect the advice of our mother, but with every wrong decision I have taken in my life, I have realized the importance of her words. Dedicate every day of yours to your mother but on Mother's day, let's just make her feel more special because, with every step we take, she takes ten steps ahead of us.
The celebration began in the United Stated during the early 20th century. It was first eminent in the year 1908 at St. Andrew's Methodist church in Grafton, West Virginia, in the memory of Anna Jarvis's Mother. This place consists of the International Mother's Day shrine in the present day. Anna's objective was to honor her mother and she continued with her work being an activist for the wounded soldiers of the civil war. She wanted to mark a day in the honor of all the mothers. She was successful in founding Mother's Day but it was not considered as an official holiday as the US Congress had rejected the proposal. In recent times, most of the countries celebrate the second Sunday of May as Mother's Day.
With the modernization, the celebration of Mother's Day has gained popularity to a great extent. In our busy schedule, we have very little time to spend with our family. Thus, we take these occasions as an opportunity to let them know that we care. A simple act of love and care is enough to make our moms feel special. A mother is the backbone of the family and she gives all her time and life to create a beautiful family but she never demands anything in return except our happiness. But a token of love on a special occasion is never a bad idea. Gifts are the most vital part of every celebration and with the growing demands of different and unique gifts, the market of creative items have grown to a greater extent. There is a variety of gift ideas for Mother's Day and availability of unique items that can make her feel special. Apart from the common idea of handmade cards, there are a plenty of options available in the gift industry. Some of the best ideas for a gift on Mother's Day can be the stationery items such as coffee mugs with a picture of you and your mom, a pen that has words scribbled on it such as "best mom in the world", hand-made chocolates or a photo

frame. If she is passionate about baking, cookery or baking items would be a great idea. Jewelry is the most precious possession of a woman and gifting her a beautiful ring or necklace on this special occasion would definitely make her happy. Adding more from the list, you can gift her designer candles or personalized wine bottles. If she loves cooking, buy her some latest kitchenware and crockery. You have plenty of options based on the choice of your mother. These are some of the stationery gift ideas for mothers on mother's day. You can also buy her dresses or shoes and surprise her. Apart from the stationery gift items, you can also surprise her by preparing a meal for her on Mother's day or baking a cake for her on your own. It takes a very little effort in order to make your mother happy because she has the least demands in the world and her children are the most prized possession of a Mother. Her entire life, she prioritizes her children and her family. In our everyday busy schedule, it is not possible to give our moms enough time but at least for this one day in a year, we could do something to make her feel special and tell her how important she is. If not every day, then at this one day we can tell her that we owe it all to her because without our mothers we would have been nowhere and without her dedication and love, we would never have grown into a better person. Let's take the opportunity and tell our Moms that not just today but every day of our life is Mother's day. There a plethora of gifts you can give your mother. Get creative and useful by visiting https://www.violetofficesupplies.co. uk/ for ideas on stationery, furniture and plenty other options to choose from.Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents Day. The modern Mother's Day began in the United States, at the initiative of Anna Jarvis in the early 20th century. This is not (directly) related to the many traditional celebrations of mothers and motherhood that have existed throughout the world over thousands of years, such as the Greek cult to Cybele, the mother god Rhea, the Roman festival of ilaria, or the Christian Mothering.
Sunday celebration (originally a commemoration of Mother Church, not motherhood). However, in some countries, Mother's Day is still synonymous with these older traditions. The U.S.-derived modern version of Mother's Day has been criticized[6][7] for having become too commercialized. Founder Jarvis herself regretted this commercialism and expressed views on how that was never her intention

Embracing THE "NEW NEW" SPOTLIGHT ON PSYCHOLOGICAL& MENTAL HEALTH Self-care can be whatever you want or need it to be. The best part about a self-care plan is that it’s your plan, and nobody else’s. These tips from the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) curriculum can help you practice self-care and take care of your mental health during COVID-19. Look for opportunities to laugh! Laughing helps release endorphins, our bodies’ feel-good hormones. Get enough sleep. Adults usually need seven to eight hours of sleep each night. If you find you are struggling to fall asleep or stay asleep, try limiting technology use prior to bed and having a consistent night routine. Having a cup of (decaffeinated) tea and reading are great ways to wind down and signal your brain that it’s time to get ready for bed.
Stay connected. Even with physical distancing guidelines in place, you can stay connected to friends and loved ones through technologies like video calls and phone calls. Lean on your social support networks if you feel overwhelmed or lonely — we are all experiencing this uncertain time together. Exercise as appropriate.

Expressing Your Emotions Through Freeform Writing When was the last time you had a good dance? Notice I didn’t ask if you are a good dancer or not, because that is irrelevant. I am talking about a carefree, blissful, and liberating experience of allowing yourself to enjoy good music by moving according to the beat or even contrary to it but still having ecstatic fun. If this is a practice you often do, you know how it's more than skin deep. You know by doing this you shake off some worries in your mind and shackles keeping you anchored in a place you no longer want to be in. How about sprinting instead of the ordinarily composed jogging sometimes? Foregoing the accepted, grown-up way of doing it and deciding to let loose and be under no limitation. Besides the obvious running out of breath sooner, this exercise will do something more and that is to propel you to let go of other limitations in your life and make quicker decisions. Try it and this also: singing out loud in the shower or elsewhere paying no attention to your voice or confidently speaking a language you consider yourself not-so-good at.
Maybe you are the kind of person who watches other people dance at weddings or parties and hold tightly back. Oh no you would never try dancing, singing out loud or anything that puts you in the limelight, it’s not in your nature to but maybe that is the problem? You are composed, you are serious, you have targets to meet and life-altering decisions to make so you wouldn’t be caught dead doing any of the above things but is it possible that you have some bottled up emotions begging to be set free? What other way is there to fully express them, let go of negative energy and embrace brand new wholeness and positivity? Freeform writing is a form of therapy that you can engage in to express your emotions without attracting anyone’s attention like in the above-mentioned methods. All you need is yourself, paper and pen. You may need to be alone so that you aren’t disturbed as you allow yourself to ‘flow’ into that piece of paper, writing down every thought as it comes into your mind. You don’t have to care for spelling, punctuation, or even making sense, only write down whatever you think or feel in that particular instance.
19
There are times you can be so angry but cannot say everything that you are feeling because you risk destroying a relationship or scaring someone off. Freeform writing is a judgment-free zone you can put yourself in at such times. Whatever you write doesn't have to make sense and you could find yourself frantically pressing onto the paper as rage is channeled from you onto the poor writing pad. This is why it is best to use a pen, not a pencil whose lead can break off. Jot it all down in no particular order, using capital letters, exclamation marks, dots, question marks, and any other marks you find necessary. When you are done, you may want to tear off that paper and perhaps rewrite a clearer piece of something important and positive that you got out of the exercise. By now you are probably calm and free from anger.
out how to express love but aren’t sure of what emotions you have exactly towards that girl. As you write everything down as soon as it visits your mind, you may find yourself smiling, blushing, or beginning to do some deep thinking. Keep this up for some time until you are sure what your sentiments really are.
THE EYES…I like her smile makes me feel warm. I think she is a warm person...ask her out. A real date? Flowers, she is an angel. Could complete my life. I really do need her. I’m scared to commit but I think I can try Maybe this is it MAYBE it could be maybe I should give it a try oh yes try This is a raw example of what it means to flow onto paper if you want to figure
A lot of good can come out of freeform writing. Great poems, songs, or even creative stories could result. You could stumble upon a hidden talent of yours while practicing it or bring about a feeling that though strategically buried behind many layers as a defense mechanism, still holds you back somehow. Try it out today!

When grieving the loss of a loved one, a break-up, or perhaps a divorce, it is normal to feel at some point that the time to expressly talk about it to other people has expired. You may feel that you make them sad when you still wallow about it after a certain period of time. Don’t worry if this is your case. Get your pen and writing pad and begin to pour your heart out onto that paper.

6 Simple Rules for Connecting to Your Mother (Or Daughter) Karen Keller, Ph.D
No doubt, mothers and daughters have a unique connection. It starts out nurturing and playful, travels through ignorance and stubbornness, and winds down to respect and admiration. How can that journey become a more joyful experience when we are both grown? Follow these 6 (simple?) rules for a better, more fulfilling mother-daughter relationship. 1. Tensions between two women, in general, can be stressful. But between a mother and daughter it can be suffocating. Communication is the key. Listen, talk, then listen some more. Ask questions. Don't judge. Unravel the tension by being encouraging, accepting and offering unconditional love instead of offering advice. How? For mothers - step into your daughter's shoes. What pressures is she under? For daughters - see your mother as another woman. What experiences brought her to where she is? See your mother as another woman.
2. Mothers - look at your daughter as a woman who has goals, intentions, and expectations. Daughters - see your mom as a woman who can share valuable guidance based on her journey. The secret is all about how you approach your mother. Do you come with anger, disappointment and conflict? Or do you begin with patience, confidence and wanting to be closer? 3. Another important ingredient in the mother-daughter relationship is acceptance. When we reach the stage of acceptance with our mothers, the snide remarks, hurtful speeches and constant bickering takes a back seat. Why? As we get older and our need for a closer relationship with our mother increases we realize the futility in playing these games. This is when I realized I really do like my mother. 4. We want things for our daughters just as our mothers did for us. Only it was easier when they were three. Boundaries can be hard for mothers. Just ask my 26 year old daughter! Our mothers don't want to watch us be hurt by the 'wrong' man, or the unruly demanding boss, or the disrespectful teenage daughter. So what do they do? They interfere! It's in their nature to protect their young.
Its okay to be separate from our mothers. Two things are central here. One, daughters have the right to make their own mistakes. Two, daughters want their mother's approval - no matter how old they are. Mothers- give your daughters approval early in their life. They will grow into the independent, enthusiastic woman you can be proud of. Don't waste time living up to your mother's expectations (unless they match yours) that will only make you unsure of what you want.
6. The greatest gift between a mother and her daughter is honesty. Yes, I know easier said than done. Honesty must start with you. Are you holding grudges that get in your way? Was your mother right about whatever, but you didn't tell her? Do an honest self appraisal about your role in the relationship.
When we as daughters have a better sense of ourselves, we learn to be more empathetic in seeing our mother's worth as a woman. And this, my friends, is how I wish my daughters, Beth and Megan, to see me someday. On this Mother's Day, I hope you appreciate the power and importance you have in the relationship with your mother. Bonus Tip: Regent University professor, Dr. Linda Mintle, tells us there is no doubt that the mother/daughter bond is a powerful one. It shapes our lives forever and takes us into the future with clear ideas about love, family and connections. Dr. Mintle says, "It is also loaded with the potential to annoy or enrich us." I choose to let it enrich me. Dr. Mintle believes women can have a meaningful adult relationship with their mothers. She believes that this relationship forms and shapes every other relationship in a woman's life because the motherdaughter bond is such a close one. It's a bond that grows not from forgiving and forgetting the past but a bond that grows from making peace and finding a meaningful connection with your mom. This is what influences how rich our other relationships will be. A woman's hope is that once she is aware of the influencing factors of her mother-daughter relationship, she can start to change those things that need to be changed in her. This can be tough especially when both women are strong women with thoughts and ideas of their own. Dr. Mintle shares tips on how to improve contentious mother-daughter relationships: 1. It's not a numbers game. In other words, don't try to be right by getting others on your side. Decide how you feel independently of anyone else.
2. Change because you see the merits of change. Don't change because someone thinks you should or is pressuring you to change. 3. Be prepared for your mother's reaction. She may object to changes in the relationship. That doesn't mean you're wrong to make the change. 4. Keep your time together limited and focused - at least in the beginning. 5. Write out your thoughts. Tell them out loud to the chair. Practice putting your thoughts together so they will flow when you need to share. Dr. Mintle reminds us that our relationship with our mother can be one of intimacy and closeness. Love opens up possibilities. And it's because of love that we can make the journey home again. "The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world." William Ross Wallace Article Source: https://EzineArticles.com/expert/Karen_Keller,_Ph.D/581146

Talk about the feelings you experience in the here and now. For example, if your mother says something that hurts you, tell her. Say, "Gee, mom, that made me feel sad." Open yourself up to forging a new branch of your relationship. Sometimes, mothers don't know their words are hurtful or cause anger.

HOMESCHOOL ADVICE Plan the day with your child Even if you're following a lesson plan, it's good to brainstorm with your child about their day ahead. Give them options. Ask them what they feel about doing tasks in certain ways. Give them time to adjust to the schedule.
Keep in touch with teachers Ask the teacher if you have to strictly follow the curriculum given, or if you have the freedom to adjust the schedule. Teachers can also give you tips on how to effectively faciliate your kids' learning. They can also get you in touch with other parents.
Some tips for teaching your kids at home
Involve the family Homeschooling involves integrating your child's educational schedule with your family's regular routine. Have a chat with your family and know what their expectations are with the home school setup—and what is expected of them.
Use free resources The school will provide the lessons, but you can also make use of other resources like worksheets available online to support or expand it. www.website.com www.website.com www.website.com
Take breaks
Be flexible
It's a simple advice - and you can't underestimate the power of breaks.
Learning from can be difficult, new, and frustrating.
Add it to your schedule and make it fun—or be spontaneous and flexible and take it when you can.
Facilitate your child's study schedule closely, but be flexible to change it up based on your child's learning tendencies and emotional state at the time.
lack of emotional clarity could be holding you back from more fulfilling relationships
Written by CHERYL LACEY DONOVAN
Lack of emotional clarity might be holding you back for more fulfilling relationships You’ve probably have heard this old saying: if you don’t love yourself, why should you expect others to do what you can’t do for yourself. There’s a lot of truth to that. Let’s put it this way, if you are conflicted or confused about your emotions, there's a high chance you are not sending the right signals to people around you. They want to help, and they care and love you, but they can’t quite seem to reach you. I know it hurts but the truth is, it’s all your fault. You have to understand that life is not a movie. When you’re watching movies there is a script, there is a footage, and there are actors. But at the end of the day, you’re watching something that i complete. There’s nothing you can do to influence whatever goes on in the movie. All you can do is sit down, watch the movie and let the directors, screenwriters, and actors perform for you. That’s how it works. I don’t know the exact nature of your relationships but that should not be a one way street. There is give and take. It’s very easy for people to feel frustrated in their relationship because they can’t get what they wanted from it in the first place. They don’t bother to stop and think about their role in the relationship. What are you putting in? How do you influence the flow of the emotional signals that you have with the other person? Is it fair to that other person when you put all the weight on their shoulders? Of course not. You don’t want that done to you, right? This is where lack of emotional clarity comes in.
Most people always focus on how they’re being cheated, how they’re being hurt, and how they’re not getting what they feel they have coming to them. Rarely do they look at the other side. People are very shallow about it. This is a serious problem because if you want more fulfilling relationships, you need to develop the emotional intelligence skill of emotional clarity. A lot of people define this ability in strictly self-serving facts. In their words they say, “I just need to know how I’m feeling and what kind of emotions are going through my mind and heart at any given point of time.” That’s just part of the picture. If you stop there, then it’s no surprise that your relationships are not living up to their fullest potential. What’s the problem here? It’s not just about you that’s a big part of your relationship, but there’s the other side of the equation. You have to also pay attention to the consequences of your emotional signals and most importantly the clarity with which you communicate. People with low emotional intelligence suffer from a disconnect between what they feel and how the other people perceive them. They always think that it’s the other person responsibility to perceive them clearly. Maybe you’re just not communicating emotionally clearly enough. If you want to get out from under this problem, click here.

The spring of 2020 will be known through all of history as a very stressful perod. Earlier today, an acquaintance of mine said: "We are living through an historic time." To say the least, it is a very stressful time. Due to the coronavirus and disruptions in our everyday lives, the economy and inconveniences our health may be at risk. This article will discuss 5 ways to strengthen our immune systems and counteract the effects of stress on our bodies. When we are injured, sick or under stress our body creates inflammation. We all know that if we sprain our ankle it gets swollen and inflamed. If we get a respiratory virus our sinuses react with a runny nose, sneezing and coughing. When we are under excessive stress, we produce inflammatory chemicals called cortisol and catecholamines. If inflammation is limited to a short-term, timeframe we will recover and heal.
However, if inflammatory chemicals linger and become chronic it is deleterious to our health. Chronic inflammation leads to impairment of our immune system. Fortunately, there are natural ways to strengthen our immunity. Here are five natural strengthen your immunity:

Avoid sugar, sweets and grains like cereal, pasta and bread. These all contain carbohydrates, which when digested cause high blood sugar. They also cause the body to become acidic. High blood sugar and an acidic environment weakens the immune system. Instead, eat lots of vegetables, especially of the cruciferous variety, which includes kale, broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens and Brussels sprouts. Also eat foods that have good protein and good fats like eggs, beef and chicken. Helpful fats like olive oil,

flaxseed oil, safflower oil and coconut oil are wonderfully utilized to strengthen our immune systems. Get 30 minutes of exercise per day. Moderate exercise such as walking, weight and resistance training have been shown to lead to a higher number of white blood cells which help to fight infection. Since many gyms, health clubs and exercise facilities have been closed, to promote social distancing, it is certainly permissible and recommended to get outdoors and engage in some sort of physical exercise. Get your sleep! Most people benefit from eight hours of sleep. I like to say that: "Our immune systems are working hardest, while we're sleeping." You can really supercharge your immunity if you make sure you get your rest
Obtain the sunshine vitamin! The sunshine vitamin is vitamin D3. This vitamin enhances the immune system. If the weather is nice enough in your area, you can get direct sunlight exposure on your face, arms and legs for 15 minutes/day to manufacture adequate vitamin D3. If it is too cold or cloudy where you live to receive direct sunlight skin exposure, you can do nutritional supplementation of 5000-10,000 IU's/day in a capsule form for adults. Check with your healthcare specialists to know how much vitamin D3 children and infants require. Manage daily stress as well as situations beyond your control. One simple technique we can all practice is gratitude. Although many circumstances may be confronting us, we can always think of a number of things to be grateful for. Happiness is directly correlated to the gratitude that we have in our lives. The best way to prevent illness is to strengthen our immune system. THIS MONTH'S FEATURE
EMBRACE THE WERK: GET ME BODIED Jamesina Greene
Recently, I was reading some information about people, women in particular, and the obsession that we have with body images. Daily, our senses are saturated with television commercials and shows; radio personalities and podcasts; magazine and books stories and pictures along with family and friends discussing our bodies. The pressure to “get bodied” is everywhere! “I want to lose weight” seems to be the mantra for so many of us. “I can’t lose these pounds!” is our battle cry. Too often, we push ourselves to physical and emotional exhaustion as we attempt to achieve “the look” and in the meantime, we are becoming unhealthy in so many areas. The Food Research & Action Center, stated that more than 2/3 of Americans are overweight or obese. They offer that the difference between now and 20 years ago, is that the majority of people are no longer consumed with depriving themselves of food and are now adapting more holistic, healthy lifestyles. More of us are eating fresher, greener foods and exercising more. We are incorporating more physical activity and feeling better as we see results.
Currently, you may be going through physical transformation. Like myself, you could be faced with health challenges that have altered your body in ways that you are unhappy about. Whatever your condition, take the time to appreciate your body as it is. Be grateful for the good and positive and take whatever steps are necessary to adjust the rest. Celebrate your body!
Come on, WERK IT! We will no longer allow others to dictate to us how we feel about our bodies, not the scales, the charts or anything else. We do not just want to live long lives, but we want to have lives that are LIVED! Therefore, every day, we will do what it takes to have those healthy bodies. We will cherish our temples and show the Creator how we honor Him as we honor our bodies. Let’s go! WERK YOUR BODY! Be your healthiest you! Sisters, we must grasp the reality that self-love is our ultimate goal and that includes loving our bodies. We should do what needs to be done to house our spirits in healthy bodies, while not being obsessed with fighting to lose weight; fighting to gain weight; nipping and tucking or just covering up parts that we are not happy with. I am convinced that a happy spirit will be expressed in a healthy body. As we arrive at that place, we can look at our bodies and smile from within. We will “werk” until we have bodies that are healthy, glowing, seductive and inspiring. I frequently think of my favorite insects, the Butterfly. Lots of people look at the beautiful colors, the intriguing shapes and beauty in flight. But seldom do we think of the process that brought this gorgeous creature to the state of being that we so admire. The complete metamorphosis from larva to butterfly is fascinating. The stages of its life cycle, make its ultimate presentation absolutely miraculous. Just like you, my Sister!

Debunking Myths Surrounding Mental Health
In a given year, 1 in 5 adults struggle with a mental health disorder in the United States. This corresponds to 43.8 million people or 18.5 percent of the total population. Nevertheless, millions of people are stigmatized, discriminated, and isolated by their families, friends, and even employers because of the widespread myths surrounding mental health. This can make it difficult for a person dealing with a mental illness to recover. It is therefore, indispensable to dispel such myths and provide help to those grappling with a mental health disorder as early diagnosis and intervention can help a person recover completely and lead a normal life.
Read on to find out if certain things believed about mental health are myths or not. Myth - Mental illnesses are rare. Fact - Mental health conditions are more common than one can imagine. However, it is not just the blues that can be willed away. It is a serious mental health disorder which necessitates medication and therapy for proper management. Myth - Medications will help, you do not need therapy. Fact - People with mental illnesses have different treatment requirements. They cannot be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. Midlife Insomnia: How To Get More Sleep When You Are Menopausal Leslie C. Smith
We have all heard about the hot flashes, weight gain, and mood swings that are associated with menopause. But one of the more persistent side effects of menopause is insomnia. According to the National Sleep Foundation, approximately 61% of menopausal women find it difficult fall asleep or stay asleep. Due to this widespread problem, many women either turn to sleep aid prescriptions or seek hormone therapy from their physicians. But sleep medications can become addictive, and hormone therapy can have its own side effects. So how can you get through menopause without being perpetually sleep deprived or dependent on drugs? Here are some tips to get you started. Regular Exercise

household items, it is always a good investment to get a quality mattress. Mattresses can range from the traditional coil mattresses to the gel and memory foam variety. The mattresses with the gel and memory foam may be somewhat better if you are menopausal because, they can tend to stay cooler than traditional mattresses. This can really be helpful if you suffer from hot flashes and night sweats. But if you can't find a good gel memory foam mattress or just prefer the coil variety, there are many pillows out there that contain gel too. The only caveat with the pillows are that they tend to be very firm. They can initially be somewhat uncomfortable but, soften up once they are broken in. Another alternative is cooling packs that can be placed in your pillowcase. These packs are placed in your freezer during the day and help cool off your pillow at night. They may be a good alternative to the gel pillows if you prefer something a little softer. Meditation or Relaxation Exercises Listening to meditation or relaxation apps is a great way to deal with insomnia. These apps contain short sessions where a narrator gives you prompts to help you sleep, or there is a combination of prompts and soothing sounds. You can plug into a 10-20 minute relaxation app on your tablet or other mobile device. The apps are the most effective if they are used right before bed, or while you are in bed.
