News and Announcements Christ Lutheran Church Eagan Minnesota

March 6th, 2016

Verse of the Week:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

This Week in Sunday school:

This week, Sunday School students

will be studying “The Temptation of Jesus.” Good News Ambassadors Based on 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

An ambassador is someone who speaks to a nation or organization as a representative of a different nation or organization. An ambassador informs people of the activities of his or her group or country. An ambassador's goal is to improve the relationship between the two groups. The apostle Paul tells us that "we are ambassadors for Christ" (v.20). This means that we are "Good News ambassadors." Through us, God shares with others the Good News of the new, improved relationship with God that faith in Jesus brings. The Good News we share is the Gospel. The Gospel message is that by God's grace and Jesus'

sacrifice for our sins and His resurrection, we are saved. Through faith in Jesus, we trust in the Good News that our sins are forgiven and that in Christ we each have a new, eternal life. God gives every Christian the authority to share His truth with others. Wherever we find ourselves in this world, we are Jesus' representatives. The Holy Spirit works to lead others to faith in Jesus through the words of Holy Scripture we share and the love of Jesus Diane Grebing Taken from My Devotions, May 24, 2016 Copyright 2016 Concordia Publishing House 3558 S.
