Council cash brings Cannonball back The Cannonball supercar spectacular which came to Wexford for the first time in 2015 is on its way back to Wexford thanks to Wexford Co. Council splashing the cash to get the organisers to return. Last year thousands lined the streets for the event and this year is likely to see similar crowds as one hundred and eighty supercars roll into town at 6pm on Sunday September 11.
To be included as a host town for the three day event money has to be put up front to cover costs. The Council is believed to have provided an initial €15,000 cash guarantee with the total cost of hosting the event likely to be several thousands in excess of that figure. The investment is believed to be money well spent given the huge crowds the event brought to Wexford town last year.

students partied in to the early hours they bade farewell to their school days. But as one class headed off another waited to take their place and this week at school gates up and down the county hundreds of four year olds will take their first big steps on the
formal education ladder. Today’s school goers are well seasoned by the experience of pre-school before they head to their first day at Primary School so it is now the parents who are often more upset as the school door closes on that first day.
