Վրաստանի և Հայաստանի տնտեսվարող ս բյեկտների վերաբերյալ բիզնես տեղեկատ ն պատրաստվել է «Միջսահմանային տնտեսական զարգաց մ» 16-ամսյա ծրագրի շրջանակներ մ, որը համաֆինանսավորվ մ է Եվրոպական Մի թյան կողﬕց իրականացվող Արևելյան գործընկեր թյան տարածաշրջանային համագործակց թյ ն ծրագրի շրջանակներ մ (EaPTC): EaPTC-ն հնարավոր թյ ն է ընձեռ մ Արևելյան գործընկեր թյան երկրներին, տվյալ պարագայ մ` Հայաստանին և Վրաստանին, համատեղ ժերով սահմանել և հաղթահարել ընդհան ր մարտահրավերներն իրենց սահմանաﬔրձ տարածաշրջաններ մ:

The Business Catalogue of Georgian and Armenian business operators was prepared for the 16-month “Cross-border Economic Development (CED)” project co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Territorial Coopera on (EaPTC) programme. The EaPTC creates an opportunity for Eastern Partnership countries, in this case, Armenia and Georgia, to jointly iden fy and address common challenges in their border regions.

«Միջսահմանային տնտեսական զարգաց մ» ծրագիրն իրականացն մ է Վրաստան մ գործող «Քաղաքացիական զարգացման գործակալ թյ ն» հկ-ն հայաստանյան «Աջակց թյ ն Նոյեմբերյանին» հկ-ի և «Եվրասիա համագործակց թյ ն հիﬓադրաﬕ»-ի հետ համատեղ: Ծրագիրը կոչված է ամրապնդել ﬕջսահմանային համագործակց թյ ն, ապահովել տնտեսական աճ, ստեղծել նպաստավոր պայմաններ ազատ առևտրի համար և բարելավել կենսապայմանները Վրաստանի Քվեմո Քարթլիի և Հայաստանի Տավ շի մարզի սահմանաﬔրձ համայնքներ մ:

The CED project is implemented by the Georgia-based Civil Development Agency (CiDA), in partnership with the Armenia-based Support for Noyemberyan (SFN) and the Northern Branch of Eurasia Partnership Founda on (EPF). It aims to strengthen cross-border coopera on, ensure economic growth, establish favourable condi ons for free trade opera ons, and improve the living condi ons of bordering communi es in Georgia's Kvemo Kartli and Armenia's Tavush regions.

Քվեմո Քարթլիի և Տավ շի մարզեր մ գործող ձեռնարկ թյ ններն ընդգրկող բիզնես տեղեկատ ն պատրաստվել է 2015թ.-ի դեկտեմբերից ﬕնչև 2016 թ.-ի փետրվարն անցկացված ելակետային ս ﬓասիր թյան հիման վրա: Տեղեկատ ն կոչված է մանրամասն տեղեկատվ թյ ն մատ ցել տարածաշրջաններ մ զարգացած հիﬓական տնտեսական ոլորտների, ինչպեu նաև ﬕջսահմանային համագործակց թյան, առևտրի և ներդր մային հնարավոր թյ նների վերաբերյալ: Ներկայացված տնտեսվարող ս բյեկտները գործ նե թյ ն են ծավալ մ հետևյալ ոլորտներում` գյ ղատնտես թյ ն (պանրի արտադր թյ ն, թռչնաբ ծ թյ ն, մրգի և բանջարեղենի մշակ մ), արտադր թյ ն (սննդամթերք, խﬕչք և ըմպելիքներ, ծխախոտ, տեքստիլ, հասարակ ﬔտաղներ, ﬔտաղե արտադրանք, էլեկտրոնային և օպտիկական սարքեր) և ծառայ թյ նների մատ ց մ (զբոսաշրջ թյ ն): Համապատասխան տարածաշրջաններ մ իրականացված գրասենյակային և դաշտային հետազոտ թյ նները բացահայտել են, որ նշված ոլորտներն օժտված են զարգացման ﬔծ ներ ժով ինչպես արտաքին առևտրի ծավալների, այնպես էլ ներդր ﬓերի աճի առ մով: Այսպիսով` «Միջսահմանային տնտեսական զարգաց մ» ծրագիրն ապահովել է տարածաշրջանային տնտեսական զարգացման խթան մ, մասնավորապես ապրանքների շարժ` նպաստելով կապերի զարգացմանը ﬕջսահմանային մատակարարման շղթայի շրջանակներ մ: Ներկայացված ժողոված ն շահագրգիռ անձանց տալիս է ամբողջական պատկեր տարբեր ընկեր թյ նների և անհատ ձեռներեցների վերաբերյալ: Այն պար նակ մ է տեղեկատվ թյ ն վերջիններիս ապրանքների, արտադրական հզոր թյ նների, ծավալների, հոսքագծերի, սարքավոր ﬓերի, տեխնիկայի և վաճառքի շ կաների վերաբերյալ: Բացի այդ, ժողոված ն անդրադառն մ է յ րաքանչյ ր առևտրային գործ նե թյան շրջանակներ մ ներդր մային հնարավոր թյ ններին և ձեռնարկատիրական գործ նե թյան համար դրանցից բխող բարելավ ﬓերին: Այն շահառ ներին հնարավոր թյ ն է ընձեռ մ արտադրական և սպառման շղթայ մ ի հայտ բերված դերակատարների ﬕջոցով հաստատել հեռանկարային գործնական կապեր, ինչպես նաև օգտվել Քվեմո Քարթլիի և Տավ շի տարածաշրջաններ մ իրենց գործ նե թյ նը տարածել հնարավոր թյ նից:

The Business Catalogue, consis ng of the enterprises opera ng in Kvemo Kartli and Tavush regions, has been prepared based on the Baseline Study conducted during the period of December 2015 – February 2016. It intends to provide detailed informa on about the main economic sectors developed in the regions, as well as the cross-border coopera on, trade, and investment opportuni es.

The selected business en es cover the following fields of ac vi es: agriculture (cheese produc on, poultry and pig breeding, cul va on of vegetables and fruit), manufacturing (food products, beverages, tobacco, tex les, chemicals, basic metals, metal fabrica on, electrical and op cal equipment), and services (tourism). Desk and field research carried out in the regions revealed that these sectors have high poten al for development, both in capacity for increased foreign trade and investment growth. Therefore, the CED project will ensure the promo on of regional economic development, par cularly the movement of goods by enhancing cross-border supply chain connec vity.

This catalogue gives a comprehensive picture of various companies or individual entrepreneurs to interested par es. It includes data about their products, produc on capacity, volume, and lines, equipment, machinery and sales markets. In addi on, it covers investment opportuni es for each commercial ac vity, and the resul ng improvements to the business. It allows the stakeholders to explore prospec ve business linkages through the iden fied value chain actors and seize the opportunity to expand business opera ons in Kvemo Kartli and Tavush regions.

The largest pig-breeding complex in the Caucasus was founded in 2013. It is located in an ecologically clean area of Bolnisi (Akaurta village) as a part of the Ukrainian Agrarian Holding ASD (Ukraine), which holds a leading posi on in the produc on of animal feed. “ABD Georgia” combines a pig farm, slaughter house, and meat processing plant.

“SABUDARA” LTD

Company Profile

Sabudara is a poultry farm specialized in hatchery management since 2006. The farm uses high-tech facili es and equipment in its produc on process. For instance, it has one of the best European incubators in the South Caucasus region, which allows the enterprise to produce chicks of the highest quality. Currently, the incubator has a capacity of 800,000 hatched chicks/month. However, it is planned to increase this figure to 1,200,000.

Thanks to the experience gained during its 10 years of opera ons, the farm occupies leading market posi ons in Georgia and offers consumers local products (hatched eggs and one-day chicks) which fully sa sfy European quality standards. The poultry farm mainly provides customers with the Broiler species of poultry: ROSS 308 and COBB-500. In 2013, Sabudara started incuba ng egg-laying hens (TETRA, SL, Tint) for small farmers and family farms. Among fast-growing and fleshy chickens, SPERBER, HB COLOR and SUPER HARCO are bred at the farm.

Small lots (4,000-5,000 units) of produced goods have been sent to Armenia since 2014.

HB COLOR chickens, or domes c broilers as they are o en called, have been successfully exported to Armenia and the demand for them remains quite high (300,000 units per month).

The main priori es of the factory are the increase of its volume of produc on while guaranteeing the delivery of products conforming to strict quality norms and the provision of support to small and medium enterprises for further development of the poultry sector in Georgia. The farm is able to deliver poultry feed and one-day chicks upon customers' requests.



In the internal market, produced goods are mainly sold in the Kvemo Kartli, Guria, Samegrelo and Kakhe regions, as well as in the ci es of Kutaisi and Batumi.

Exports – the only export market is Armenia.

Imports – poultry feed is imported from Turkey.

Sabudara is interested in enhancing business links with Armenian partners and increasing their export volume to Armenia. The management team is highly interested in acquiring addi onal equipment and machinery to develop their business.

A tradi onal poultry produc on company „Roster“ was founded in 2007 on a 3,000 sq. m. area in the Gardabani Municipality of Kvemo Kartli. In about 7 years, the founders invested up to 1.5 million GEL in the business. As a result of all these efforts, the company currently provides products to more than 3,000 local farmers a year. 13 people are employed at the poultry farm.

This is the only poultry business in the Tavush region, established in 2011. The produc on capacity of the poultry farm enables it to undertake the whole process from incuba on, one-day chicks, to selling broiler chickens, and egg produc on.

Throughout its forma on, the company has managed to expand its business from chicken produc on to compound feed produc on, which enjoys a high level of demand in the region.

This project on developing greenhouse farming in Georgia has been brought into effect through close coopera on between GCF and the Richel Group – a market leader in building and ou i ng plas c greenhouses in Europe. A memorandum of coopera on between the partner companies was signed on 13 May 2014 in Tbilisi during the GeorgiaFrance Economic Forum.

In spring 2015, the products cul vated in the greenhouses appeared for the first me in the Georgian market. Since January 2016, the environmentally friendly products are being offered to customers under the trade mark “Planta.” Planta products are currently sold in Tbilisi through the main supermarket chains, as well as in fruit and vegetable stores.

Exports – the produced goods are not yet exported to foreign markets. However, the corpora on is conduc ng nego a ons with Russian distribu ng companies in order to start expor ng to the Russian Federa on.

The management team of the enterprise plans to cul vate various types of vegetables in the near future. For instance, Planta is carrying out works to offer different types of fresh tomato to its consumers at the end of this year. In addi on, long term plans cover the expansion of the greenhouse territory to 35 ha.

The Ayrum fruit processing factory is situated in the Ayrum community of the Tavush region, Republic of Armenia - a place known for the amazing taste of its canned products since 1937, when a processing factory was first established by the Soviet Government. During the early years of Armenian independence, the factory was shut down and later succeeded by Ayrum Fruits, using a unique and life-changing business model, owned and managed by local farmers.

Իջևանի գին և կոնյակի գործարանը հիﬓադրվել է Աղստև և Սպիտակ Ջ ր գետերի հովտ մ: Գործարանն նի 3.000 հեկտար խաղողի այգի, որտեղ հիﬓական մ մշակվ մ են խաղողի «ռկացետելի», «լալվար», «բանանց», ինչպես նաև «պինո», «պինո բլանկ», «կաբարնե», «սապերավի», «գառան դմակ» և այլ սորտերը:

The Ijevan Wine Factory was founded in the valley of the Aghstev and Spitak Jur rivers. It consists of about 3000 hectares of vineyard. The varie es of grape cul vated are mainly Rkatsiteli, Lalvar, and Banants, as well as Pinot, Pinot Blanc, Cabernet, Saperavi, Garan dmak and others.

1996 թվականին մասնավորեց ﬕց հետո, շշալց մը կազմակերպվեց տեղ մ և հիﬓադրվեց «Իջևանի գին գործարան» ՓԲԸ-ն: Իջևան մ արտադրվող գինիներն իրենց կայ ն մասնաբաժինն նեն հայաստանյան և ռ սաստանյան շ կաներ մ: Կարճ ժամանակ անց, «Իջևան» գինիները լ րջ հայտ ներկայացրեցին համաշխարհային շ կայ մ իրենց տեղը գրավել համար:

With confident steps, Ijevan wine factory is striding forward to reach new heights, and win new victories. Work is currently being done to open a tunnel wine cave in the nearest rock in order to make a much bigger closet for aging wine and brandy spirit in the correct way.

In the construc on-technology department of the factory, new technologies are being processed and introduced, more modern equipment is being purchased, and modern market research is being conducted.

The only company in the South Caucasus processing organic waste was established in May 2012. The plant and dump are located in the town of Marneuli and occupy an area of two hectare.

Bio compost, produced by the company, is an eco-friendly organic fer lizer allowing farmers to get ecologically pure and safe bio products. It increases the fer lity of the soil, enriching it with organic nutrients and thus protects the plants from various soilborne diseases.

The success of the plant is guaranteed thanks to the high demand of lime products.

Their main customers are enterprises involved in steel produc on ac vi es due to the fact that lime plays a key role in steelmaking and refining processes by effec vely removing impuri es such as phosphorus, silica, alumina and sulfur.

The limestone quarry located in the city of Dedoplistskaro in the Kakhe region is the main supplier of limestones and has a worldwide reputa on for its high quality.

In the near future, Industry Lime is planning to build a small workshop for packaging the accompanying products of lime, such as slaked lime, widely used in agriculture and leather manufacturing process.

The basic produc on of the company includes the extrac on of blocks from 4 to 10 cub. m. and the produc on of slabs, les, and sculptural elements of varying complexity. The company's factory is located in the city of Ijevan, in the north-eastern part of Armenia. The company has its own branch line with separate loading and unloading pla orms, equipped with a heavy capacity crane, and scales at its Ayrum sta on. · Facing les Tiles can be either ground or polished, depending on the type of surface processing. The thickness may vary – 20-30 mm and more. High-precision equipment produces les of regular form and the les and plane surface of cladding are perfectly adapted during placement. They are used for exterior and interior finishing.

Rusalloys owns the licenses for several manganese ore mines in the Terdjola and Racha regions of Georgia where open-quarry methods are used in the manganese mining and processing stages.

“AG Microelectronics” was founded in Rustavi in 2013 by a team of professionals in the field of electronic systems engineering. Later, foreign consultants were invited from China, Ukraine, Russia and Moldova to train Georgian students from various universi es. The conducted trainings significantly enhanced their knowledge in the field of microelectronic manufacturing and helped them develop all the necessary skills for the successful opera on of the enterprise. Zikatar Sanctuary was established in 2010 and occupies a 150 hectare area. It is located on the northeastern slopes of Mount Zikatar in the Gugarats Mountain Range, at an al tude of 1,150 - 1,450 meters above sea level. The main objec ve of its establishment was the protec on of forest biodiversity, rare and endangered species and unique natural monuments, as well as the popula on of endemic and rare animal species. The main target for protec on at the sanctuary is the specific flora and fauna of the forest ecosystems in the northern slopes of Mount Zikatar, as well as its rich historical heritage. The main forest popula on species are Oriental Beech, Mountain Oak, Georgian Oak and accompanying species include Oriental Hornbeam, Lime, Ash, Fields Maple, Norway maple, and others.

The farm is located high in the mountains, in an ecologically clean area, near historical sites. Farming ac vi es combine honey produc on, B&B facili es for foreign tourists and the produc on and sale of handmade paper souvenirs. The farm's apiculture tradi on has been inherited over a few genera ons (70 years of honey produc on), while the B&B service and souvenir making started in 2013.

Արտադրանքը հիﬓական մ վաճառվ մ է Տավ շի մարզ մ` 60%-ը Իջևան մ և ﬔրձակա գյ ղեր մ, 20%-ը` Երևան մ, իսկ ﬓացած 20%-ը գն մ են օտարերկրյա զբոսաշրջիկները: Արտահան մ. ֆերﬔրն անձամբ չի առաք մ կամ արտահան մ իր արտադրանքը, սակայն այցելող զբոսաշրջիկները (Ֆրանսիա, ԱՄՆ, Գերմանիա, Ռ սաստան) գն մ են ﬔղր և ձեռագործ հ շանվերներ: Ներմ ծ մ. ﬔղ ների հիվանդ թյ նների դեմ պայքարի դեղաﬕջոցները ներմ ծվ մ են Ռ սաստանից:

Products are sold mainly in the Tavush region - 60% in Ijevan and nearby villages, while 20% is sold in Yerevan and 20% of the product is purchased by foreign tourists.

Exports – the farmer does not personally deliver or export the product, but visi ng tourists (French, American, German, Russian) purchase his honey and handmade souvenirs.

Imports - bee curing medicine from Russia.

For the purpose of business improvement and increasing produc on capacity, the company is considering inves ng in a truck for seasonal transporta on of the bee hives, which is a major concern.
