Aleksandra Ciążyńska Early Spring in Ciechocinek Oil on canvas 50 x 70 cm
Aleksandra Ciążyńska Early Spring in Ciechocinek Oil on canvas 50 x 70 cm “Art is my great passion which I try to develop every day. A passion that is extremely interesting and addictive, because I am constantly learning something new. Art is eternal learning that allows you to pay attention to things that are imperceptible to others. We discover the beauty of the world around us, the uniqueness of forms, colors and shapes that accompany us imperceptibly every day. Art allows you to discover yourself, look into the recesses of the soul and constantly finds new faces. The ability to paint pictures is a gift that needs to be cared for daily. I am glad that I can share this gift with the world.” Aleksandra Ciążyńska was born in 1987 in Poland. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw and has been painting since childhood. Aleksandra has taken classes for many years with Prof. Paweł Lewandowski-Palle. She has received the First Place Award in the national competition “Man and his work” and the Golden Palette Award, in Macedonia. Her paintings have been exhibited in New York, Rome, Venice and Barcelona.

“My pictures offer rich three-dimensional landscapes to the beholder. Natural structures and their artistic sculptural recomposition are the core, around which my paintings are spinning. The image bases are accentuated and intensified like reliefs and create a world of their own. Intensive colourization additionally contributes to the refinement and completion of my works. I invite you to discover the cryptical language of symbols and shapes representing parts of nature with its order and beauty.”

“To best define and explain my work, I would say that I am the painter of marble with a touch of velvet. Plaster, stone, water and air are closely blended with subtly colored powders in a thick paste crushed on wood. Everything in my work expresses impulse, force and spontaneity covered with a veil of nobility, of dream and tenderness, involving us in a soothing world of softness. The museums of Matsuyama in Japan, Wuhan in China, Cunéo in Italy and Zadar in Croatia have some of my paintings.”

“Born in Switzerland, in 1941, to a prominent family of art and antique collectors, I started to sculpt wood at a very young age. I was drawn to and learned the technique of bronze and lost wax casting “because it is the most demanding material which is responsive and sweet to the touch.” My work is figurative but is not about the figure. “I have been working on the themes of geodiversity and biodiversity. It is sad to see how humans are using up natural resources and destroy the environments of many species. ‘The Last Ballet’ piece asks how will this “absurdity dance” end and if humans become badly tied to their own solutions. My materials are all recycled and slowly collected. Collecting found media reminds me of the world’s limitations and how plenty of the little things are meaningful.”

This is why anticipation and imagination are such valuable tools for the photographer. But what of the image? It is set and may be enhanced. And what story does the photograph tell? Great photographers create thousands of stories with one photo.”

“I have been involved with photography for a long time and am still developing a distinctive, clean, natural style that speaks to the subject(s) and the viewer. My recent concentration has been in fine art nudes, portraiture, fashion and lifestyle photography, using Fujifilm GFX100 equipment with a variety of long and moderate length lenses. I believe that careful assessment of lighting, composition, and angle of image capture can best provide quality images and consistency.”

“I love urban environments. I love cities; the bigger, the better! I love the people, the movement, the architecture, and the sounds that makeup life in a city. Some people love the serenity of the country, but not me! For years I lived near a major highway and slept like a baby. These pieces explore urban life. In some cases, they include display windows that merge the window content with the reflections of the city.”

Untitled III Mixed media 40,6 x 29,5 cm
Ingrid Steckelberg draws inspiration mostly from objects and landscapes. She is fascinated by the aesthetics of decay, such as rusting iron or the morbid beauty of rotting wood and crumbling walls. She views her paintings as metaphors, rearrangements and metamorphoses of reality. Steckelberg creates abstract works combining different materials and techniques, so that raw and brittle structures come to light.

“My love affair with art began in the ‘90s. I studied different mediums and artists. I fell in love with Ross, Van Gogh and Warhol. My themes and technique have evolved. Each piece is an exploration beyond the canvas, into the dimension of the imagination. I utilize art as a vehicle to raise awareness or support a cause and help one explore their feelings more deeply on a subject, in the hopes of inspiring or provoking a positive call to action.”

“All my ideas have a strong graphic base. My paintings start from simple, single-line graphic notes that emphasize key shapes. Sometimes the idea is contained within the frame line, sometimes it is allowed to leak out. The act of drawing however means that I can recall the image I felt driven to record. I play with the way the colours can be varied by the texture of the brushstrokes with which they are set down.”

“A poet at heart and a colour lover, I am driven by a quest of freedom and serenity through the act of painting. Inspired by memories of places , I express feelings, visual perception, inner voice, and thoughts to translate moments of reverie. In my paintings, the sublime is an adventure, and harmony is fragile. Past, present and future are unified and colours contrast in a shimmering vibrancy. Looking for an immersive depth through floating elements, I wish to achieve a meditative visual sensory that invites positiveness. While conveying my propensity to daydream, the work is a refuge for hope that I want to share as a way to add poetry to life.”

“What’s the secret inside the camera? I used a lot of strength to loosen the screws to satisfy my curiosity. I have discovered the small parts inside and revealed them. There is no connection between parts and parts. They are not geometric shapes, but irregular, and these irregular shapes have different functions. When every small part is disassembled, like an anatomical picture, they lose function. Their beauty naturally emerges.”

“Trough my art, on several dimensions, I try to make account of movement as a main component of change and transformation (geological, physical, social, cultural). In that process, light is not only a technical medium but also a metaphorical one. Light as a symbol of knowledge and discovery in contrast to obscurantism and ignorance. My feelings toward unfairness and human folly give me an inspiration fed with a kind of creative rage that illustrate my questioning about humanity and human rights.”

Heinz Marzohl Rose Wither, Thorns Don’t, 2018 Acrylic on canvas “My memories, thoughts, stories and dreams become shadowy figures, ambiguous shapes, archaic lines and touching color compositions. Again and again with the deep desire to create a unique, beautiful masterpiece.” For 34 years, Heinz Marzohl had a renowned company in Switzerland for lettering technology, digital printing and graphic design with more than 30 employees. In 2007, he handed over the company to his two daughters. In his professional activity, Marzohl designed countless brand logos, lettering concepts for shopping centers and art graphics for industrial buildings. His profound knowledge of reprography, typography, serigraphy, materials and color theory was a valuable springboard for him to enter the world of art painting. Since 1992, he has designed countless sketches and studies. Out of these, with much dedication, he then created his powerful, coloful paintings on canvas. Many of these works show personal, touching experiences or lines of force and forms from nature, which often remind of primeval cave paintings. Representations of later works were inspired by cracks and shades on rocky cliffs of stormy seashores. Painted on canvas with beautiful color compositions, the archaic traces became to enchanting, touching pictorial worlds. After many years, this search for living lines and forms has led to an independent, unmistakable visual language.
