“My paintings are reflective, emotional, intimate. I like to visually communicate what I feel: my perception of reality in a subtle way—not to reveal everything to the audience at once but to leave some space for interpretation. I find it quite magic how the same image can create different reactions, each like a new story for my enjoyment!

My subjects are mostly figurative, with a focus on portraiture. I find it intriguing what a face or an expression can tell, how it hides or reveals emotions. It’s never only a matter of representing what I see but also adding my perspective, my point of view, my feelings. This reflects in the way I represent my work.”

Tom Jean Webb has been depicting a land found in dreams and imagined romantic adventures since childhood. Using that art to take himself to the American Southwest to discover, explore and connect to his new reality. Born in London in 1982, growing up drawing was a transformative experience that would become his passion and career. Webb studied at Kingston University (2004-07), earning a first degree. Since graduating, he has exhibited in many spots in Europe, such as London, Paris, and Berlin as well as Hong Kong and multiple cities in the USA.

Tom is now represented by galleries in Texas, Germany and France and is currently continuing his art practice by creating paintings and sculptures using found natural and manufactured objects. Telling stories of his adventure and relationship with the new spaces and objects that fill his journey.

Alex Carrillo (b. 1988) is a Mexican artist whose work is a peculiar interpretation of everyday life and the different scenarios of the world through theatrical and extravagant images that explore glamour, androgyny, eroticism, queer culture, autobiographical themes and conclusions about life. Most of the characters portrayed in his works (some real and others invented) are alter egos or little fragments and they usually go from androgynous and flamboyant characters to ultra femme fatale heroines.

“This portrait was inspired by Ed Sheeran’s lyrics “The A Team: White lips, pale face. Breathing in the snowflakes. Burnt lungs, sour taste. Light’s gone, days end. It’s too cold outside for angels to fly.” I like to paint portraits of people I love or have a mysterious glamour, famous and especially not famous. The ‘Impasto’ or “alla prima” technique, which I used gave texture to the painting bringing it to a three-dimensional sculptural image, making it both real and unreal at the same time.“

The “Moua’ayada Collection by Rita” is a set of ten plates with ten distinctive yet similar and cohesive designs. Each adorned with a different message, written in Kufi Style that fills the outer edge of each plate in a very stylish and innovative design. Hayyakom, Nawartoona and Bil Aafiah are just some of the statements on the beautiful porcelain dishes.

The design process of the plates required an ingenious and innovative technique through which I took the rigidity and straightness of Kufi and reproduced it in a perfectly proportionate rounded look to fit on the circular shape of the plates. A technique that is very time-consuming and requires a lot of patience and complicated calculations to get precise dimensions and proportions for the right design.”

Ilze Egle is a contemporary artist based in Latvia, with an MA in Fine Arts. Ilze is a member of the Latvian Union of Artists and works in oil and mixed media with artwork ranging from small illustrations and landscapes to large-scale paintings and drawings focusing on nature, light, the female form and abstract marks. She teaches visual art and experiments with NFTs. Ilze grew up in the art world in a family of two artists, studied fine arts, art management and theology, and spent a year living with nuns. After working as an art curator for many years, she returned to art making, and her studio practice has since become her main focus. Ilze’s paintings have been exhibited internationally and are held in a number of private collections.

“Art is more than conveying a story, and my creative practice comes from where I am emotionally and my relationship with nature. I believe that we are all part of nature and connected. With my artwork, I capture moments and details that show the world’s beautiful fragility. I invite observers to pause, contemplate and be in the given moment. To the unhurried eye, the more detailed, intricate levels of my work are revealed. I paint and draw, working mostly in oil and mixed media. Often I incorporate drawing in my paintings. My art is between abstract and representational, color and black and white, inspired by life, nature, and light. I explore the serenity and the power of human emotions, and I wish to evoke a sense of wonder with my art. I believe that art can make a change in the world, and I feel blessed to be part of it.”
