I work with magazine pages, cut them to size, and use them as one would use a paintbrush. Thousands of pieces come together and make a collage come alive as in my recent collage of my late mother. Recently, I use pen and pencil sketches, digitize them, paint them, alter them as the flow would take me.

Simultaneously, the flow suggests captions for them.”

Born in Sardinia in 1961, Tinamaria Marongiu approaches the world of art as a singer-songwriter of pop music.

Her curiosity will lead her to experiment with new forms of expression. She is the author of songs, poems, photographs and mixed media visual arts. In 2010 she created the first material artwork of “Compact Art” BoxEs. In 2011 at the Chianciano Biennale, she was awarded the 3rd ‘Leonardo Award’ in the Applied Arts category.

In 2020, she received the AIAM Prize RM Gold Medal in Sculpture. She actively exhibits internationally.

Ingrid Steckelberg draws her inspiration mostly from objects and landscapes. She is fascinated by the aesthetics of decay, such as rusting iron or the morbid beauty of rotting wood and crumbling walls. She views her paintings as metaphors, rearrangements and metamorphoses of reality. She creates abstract works combining different materials and techniques, where raw and brittle structures come to light.

“My hands are stained with ink whenever I read the newspaper. The ink would seep into my fingerprints, like traces of culture. Reading the news is a way to understand the world. I read the newspaper in March 2017 about the chief executive election of Hong Kong. I chose some articles to cut out into pieces of “petals” and rearranged them into flowers to record parts of Hong Kong’s history as an artform.”

“I am a Greek artist who was born in Cairo, Egypt, but grew up and studied in Switzerland. During my years in Switzerland, I learned the craft of China painting and decorating. At the age of 23, I moved to Greece, my homeland, where I worked for 25 years as an Electrical Engineer. I studied painting in the workshop of the Greek painter Charalampos Psychakis. While pursuing my interest in painting, I began writing and illustrating children’s books.”

“I come from a village in northern Greece and moved to Sweden in 1968 for my studies. Here I got the chance to education and I was so happy that Sweden became my new homeland. My style is geometrically abstract. Basic geometric shapes (circles, rectangles, triangles) and bright colors are characteristic of my oil paintings.

The lines should be simple and the colors will spread joy. I have participated in some independent courses in color and shape, otherwise, I am an autodidact.”
