Since 1889, music has been a central feature of campus life at Ridley College. Vocal, instrumental and strings instruction is offered to students from over 55 countries worldwide. Specialist music teachers present the music curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and many students also take advantage of private lessons offered by fourteen different music specialists. A wide variety of music co-curricular activities are offered, which provide students with many opportunities to perform. These activities include a school Orchestra, Jazz Band, Cadet Marching Band and Choir. In addition, school musicians also participate in an annual school musical production and various evening events that showcase the spectrum of musical involvement on campus, from choral performances in our chapel to a Battle of the Bands in our 350-seat school theatre. Off-campus, our musicians perform for large audiences during Santa Claus parades, at the First Ontario Place in conjunction with the Niagara Symphony Orchestra and at various smaller venues.
