EJB TEAM MEMBER CANDIDATE 2016 QUESTIONNAIRE

#1 ‘’By 2030 CISV International wants to reach twice as many people as today.“ This is the new vision of CISV International that was approved by the members. How should Junior Branch contribute to reach this vision and how could we measure the success? The goal set by the members is huge, but also a huge opportunity for JB to show its enormous power and influence ! I think a big aspect of CISV durability is Junior Branch : we like to describe it as a way of doing CISV all year long, in your city, or in neighboring countries, and with people with similar motivation and stamina! And this is where JB is crucial. By creating local events, keeping the motivation up all year, which will keep people in the chapters, we will get more people involved. By having events with interesting and challenging content, we will get more people attending and wanting more of these (and its already the case!), we will get more people involved. By creating opportunities for leadership roles, and delegating work and responsibilities, we reward hard work and dedication, we give importance to everyone who wants to get involved, we get more people involved. By providing support for those people with responsibilities, we insure that motivation, content, and hard work (ground work) is going strong, we get more people involved. JB is the working core of the CISV force, the pulling force. Measuring the success would be “easy” (in a uplifting way). For example, chapters expanding, when a Junior moves somewhere and creates a wave of motivation for a new chapter, we know we are on the right track. Having multiple LJRs or NJRs, creating a JB Board, or JB Committees also indicates an increase of motivation, and a need for leadership expansion ! And of course the number of attendees at local, neighborhood and european events is a proof that what we are doing is working !

We have to keep our eye on the ones who are weaker to help them get better, and the ones who are stronger to help them stay strong. We keep track of what we do and how we do it, and this is how we can improve together as JB working for CISV growth !

#2 The EJB Team goals for the upcoming year are Involvement, Innovation, and Integration. Choose one of these goals and speak about how you want to help develop it this year. I'm going to talk (or write about) Integration ! That would be a focus that would interest me the most, according to my skillset and personal toolbox ! // And this goal correlates directly with our vision for CISV (from the question above!), where if JB integrates more with CISV and our communities, we can have an impact on the number of participants // As in my work with JB France and Belgium, we have a good and interesting collaboration between Chapter and JB, which is an example that rejoices me and makes me want to work towards achieving a stable collaboration throughout Europe. The best way of doing that is first through our awesome alliance between EJB and NARs, who will now be meeting at EJBEAM ! It is an amazing platform to insure that CISV knows about our JB work, and that we also know about the work of our chapters. And it is up to the EJBTeam to plan this upcoming meeting, with the help of the ReCos of course. It is a great challenge to insure that this event is the platform for further collaboration, and I'm sure we can make it happen ! I would picture more sessions between NJRs and NARs, where ideas spring and goals are set for their own collaboration, but also assessing the NARs influence of the chapter, and using that influence to get the roles of the NJRs recognized (if the need is there). It will have a positive impact on the collaboration with the NJRs and the Chapter, or the NJRs will bring this energy to the LJRs to work with their own chapter. If we (NJRs and NARs) both understand the work we do, we will have a better chance at making the Chapter work better for everyone ! We started something in Berlin, that feeling was there, now lets increase it and make sure every NAR understands our work and every NJRs (and hopefully by force of things Juniors) understand the work of NARs and Chapters ! We also already have tools to make that happen : the Chapter Development Training by Iris was ran in France with JBs in the same time as local Boards, so each chapter could set its goals with the LJRs. It was encouraging to see collaboration for a shared vision. So we have the tools, maybe we need more, but we can assess, adapt and spread all those good ideas! And as for the understanding of the different roles/responsibilities in CISV matching those of JB, I'm picturing an incredible graphic and infopage about our parallel structures. Yes it would be a lot of work, sweat, tired eyes and endless photoshop edits, but if it helps our comprehension of our crazy system, it would be worth it and I would be up for the challenge ! Another focus of mine would be to make our endless resources available to JBers, so if the people representing and organizing have a clearer view of what we do and our tools, they can bring all these informations easily back to the Juniors themselves ! By expanding the knowledge through good training and focused communication, the local level will also benefit from the work that we do on a European level ! Ergo more integration on all levels!
#3 Why do you want to join the EJB Team? Well that is a big and amazing question haha ! There is two main reasons for my motivation ; my personal one and my “outreaching one. It would first be a great opportunity for me to give back everything that JB brought me. All the trainings, the weekends, the mind-blowing sessions. I want to be able to be part of the people that makes all those beautiful events and things happening! I also want to learn more about the functioning of EJB, contribute to the work that Pipa and Andrew have started, and that Farida has taken one as well ! Personally I would learn loads, work loads, laugh loads, skype loads, and I would love it!! And secondly, I think I could bring a lot of energy and creativity to the team ! I already dedicate time to CISV and JB, and I have the opportunity to give more of it; with my third year giving me time to focus on my personal project, since I'm making a CISV-related project, I will be able to dedicate time to EJB, and I can't wait to do that ! I also have a easy-going personality, with loads of curiosity to be sunk into JB; I have explored the Wild West, swam through JB France, now experiencing JB Belgium, and only

want to discover all the other amazing chapters and NJRs of EMEA. I think I could be an accessible member, as I love to wander around on all the projects going on around EMEA. Overall, it would be an incredible experience on all levels! :)
