IJRs 2013-14 Midway Meeting I – Summary
05.-08.12.2013 Frankfurt, Germany
Hello, Junior Branch World! This document is a summary of what we, as your International Junior Representatives (IJRs), focused on during our first Midway Meeting. Midway Meetings are our way to evaluate, strategize and plan in person. For this meeting, which took place from 05.-08.12.2013 in Frankfurt, Germany, our main priorities were to finalize the first steps for the upcoming JB Review, wrap up 2013 and get priorities and work for 2014 started. We evaluated the work of the IJB Team and continued working on IJB Thinks #22 (IJB’s newsletter). We also spoke with an international Junior Branch Training (ANZAC in Australia) and three pairs of National Junior Representatives (Perú, France, Denmark) to meet, discuss the needs of their local Junior Branches and consult them for input on the above topics. We’re here to answer your questions at ijr@cisv.org. Thanks, and see you soon! Candelaria Lucero Dente & Anjo Peez-Zvetina International Junior Representatives 2013-14

Junior Branch Review further integrating JB into CISV Junior Branch Review Based on the recommendations of CISV International’s Transition Team, the organization decided to put in motion an in-depth review of how International Junior Branch can be better integrated into CISV International at all levels - local, national, regional, international. Bjørn Samming, Governing Board member sitting in the IJB Team, flew to Frankfurt for a day to start the process of the review. What we’ve achieved: • We created a timeline with dates, • finalized the mission of the review team and • identified stakeholders in JB and the review process.

IJR’s Vision and Focus Dec. 2013 - Aug. 2014 To start off this part of the meeting, we informally brainstormed our personal vision and wishes for the time period until IJBC 2014. See the full results in the live minutes. Global Training Strategy IJB Team is re-launching a Global Training Strategy for 2014 after two years of silence on the project. GTS has proven to bring great results in the field of training and we’re excited for 2014. The IJB Team is currently going about this project as a common project, which will be launched in January 2014. Working Groups The Working Groups system helps gathering the creative potential of IJB and putting that potential into action through international projects. We are developing tools to increase the impact of the system and to improve it. IJB Team We received updates from each member of IJB Team and analyzed how we, as IJRs, could help them on their respective tasks and responsibilities.
