A time for firsts: IJB at the RTF by Francisco Pavao In the beginning of October, CISV Austria hosted an RTF (Regional Training Forum) wherein IJB ran a training for the first time ever. The training was a joint effort of IJB and RDT (Resources Development and Training) and it was a huge success. During the 5 days, the 11 trainees talked about the following topics: chapter health, internal communication, recruitment processes, the CISV international strategic plan and their respective strategic plans, training strategies, global hosting plans, fee structure, and other topics. After these awesome five days, outcome couldn’t have been better. By the end, I felt that I was able to reach my goal of facilitating the growth of local chapters. After this experience. I believe this new training platform can and will be an awesome tool for IJB. In the future, we should learn from it in order to implement similar programs in the best way possible.
IJB team (Development area) in the works written by Cande Lucero & Ana Cueva Content Group:
we're working on next year's content area in close relationship with EDC so if anyone has an idea on how to deal with the content area just write to us; we're working together with the Evaluation Group to analyze our IJB structure and our work as a team; we're looking for ways to support and promote the STSW project and much more you can check out on our JB Pedia page!!
Regions:
This month we were able to arrange a meeting where at least one member of each of the regional teams (APJB, EJB and ARM) was present. This initiative, made by APJB Team, was for us to know each other better, to share our strengths, weaknesses, current projects and also to be actualized on what every region has been doing. This month we had a great time getting to know each other and share some quality fun time together. The topics we discussed were first of where: how each region was doing, which projects had been coming up, how we were all doing as a team and as a region, the new group of NJRs we are all having, IJBC in France and also we talked about the TTT and RTFs, held in Austria a few months back. We were also able to ask things that we thought other teams were good at so we could implement them in our own team; it was really enriching for us as a team members and it helped us a lot. In the meeting we had a great time to express, share and laugh about each of our current situations. We will be having these meetings once every month so if there’s anything you want us to talk about don’t hesitate to tell us so we can bring it up next time.
Training:
we're here to support and promote trainings happening around the globe; we help ensure educational quality in all trainings by helping the planners on the content and evaluation; we're developing a Training Curriculum which you'll get to know more very soon; we're working closely with RDT!
Organization:
we're always looking for cool partnerships to work with. If you happen to know anyone that would be cool for us to approach and work with just let us know toorganisations@ijb.cisv.org.
I Have a Mango Project! The Project Think - Educate - Act for Sustainable Development We are a cooperation project between CISV Colombia and CISV Norway where four participants explore the theme of sustainable development (SD) and provide tools and knowledge to be implemented in next year´s activities and programs in CISV.
Our Partners Given that 2012 is the CISV year for SD we have been in contact with different people in the international level (Educational Department, Stop Talking Start Walking, JB Sweden, JB Germany, JB Andinos).
An example We have empowered juniors around Norway to take action on sustainable development. An important thing we have done so far is the “I have a mango tour” where we visited around 11 chapters in Norway and the swedish NJBM. We gave a workshop on consumerism and youth´s role in SD. We aimed to raise awareness in JB and youth group by linking personal consumption with environmental and social consequences in the world. In Sweden, we had 60 participants and we left feeling very happy because young people are willing to take our work to develop further projects and make changes in their everyday life.
Activities to come with the JB: - NaJuWo: two of us will be attending and giving a WS during the German gathering. - While being in Colombia we will attend Andinos WS and the CISV trainings in the Americas. - JB Colombia: we will work closely with them and develop projects together. - Currently we have received an article for our blog from an Ecuadorian JBer. We want you all to write us if there is anything you want to share about SD, we are more than happy to publish what you have to say on the topic.

The JBpedia Cleaning Group brought to you by the Websites Group Have you ever been to a CISV camp? If so, you certainly helped keeping the campsite clean. Well, that's pretty much the idea of this project. Throughout the years, a lot (A LOT!) of information has been uploaded to JBPedia. And that's great! But while we want everyone to keep editing, we realized that there is a relevant amount of content outdated. What we propose is a taskforce for finding the pages out-of-date and updating them. How does it work? Go to the JBpedia page for this group and there we are planning on keeping a list of pages that are waiting for some update. You can contribute in two ways: • •
Enter the pages listed that you believe you may have fresh information about and update it. Suggest pages that need some update by adding them to the list below.
So if you would like to help us get on the JBpedia page and start helping us clean up!
