Learn the Facts About Hospice Hospice is a unique form of care that focuses on increasing the quality of life for a patient facing a life-limiting illness. However, there are many misconceptions surrounding hospice care. It’s important to fully understand hospice and all the benefits it provides. Here are just a few of the common myths about hospice.

MYTH #1: Hospice is just for the last few days of life. FACT: The earlier hospice is elected, the better it serves the patient. An early referral to hospice means that hospice staff can work with the patient to better manage pain, symptoms and understand their goals. In addition, hospice offers an array of services including music therapy, counseling and pet therapy. The longer hospice staff can work with the patient, the better their hospice experience will be.

MYTH #2: Choosing hospice means giving up hope. FACT: Electing hospice does not mean that you have given up or are days away from dying; it means that you have made a choice to live. Hospice is about living life with dignity and quality. There are many benefits that hospice has to offer for both the patient and family, and if hospice is elected early, both will be able to take advantage of these benefits. Hospice goes beyond just physical care, it also provides emotional and spiritual support. Getting to know the hospice team and the wide range of services they offer will improve the level of care you receive.

MYTH #3: Hospice hastens death. FACT: Many people erroneously believe that pain medication, like morphine, will hasten death. This is incorrect, and hospice care does not take steps to accelerate the dying process. In fact, studies have shown that when elected early, hospice patients have a longer life expectancy than patients who are receiving standard care. This is due to the focus on increasing quality of life and minimizing pain.

MYTH #4: Patients need to wait until their physicians bring up hospice to talk about it. FACT: Having the talk about your endof-life care wishes needs to be discussed with your physician before a health crisis occurs. It’s never too early to learn about hospice and all the benefits it has

to offer. Talking with your physician about what is important to you at endof-life is an important step to ensuring that your needs are being met.

MYTH #5: Hospice only cares for the patient. FACT: Hospice doesn’t just care for the patient; it provides support for the family as well. Family members and loved ones can call on grief counselors, chaplains, social workers, music therapists and volunteers to help them through their hospice journey. In fact, hospice care doesn’t end when the patient passes. For 13 months, hospice counselors work with the family members to help them through their grief process. For more information about hospice, please call the VNA at 772.410.3628 or visit us online at www.vnatc.com/hospice.

Celebrating Homeless Children One Birthday At A Time Little Birthday Angels is a 501c3 nonprofit organization currently serving on the Treasure Coast of Florida. In August 2014, Brian and Angel Pietsch, and their two sons, Hunter and Seth, were inspired to begin their organization when it was brought to their attention that a local shelter did not have the extra funds needed to celebrate a young girl named Destinee’s birthday. Thanks to the helping hands and hearts of many volunteers and supporters, Little Birthday Angels was given its wings and is now celebrating one birthday at a time for many homeless children living in our community through two impactful programs.

Shelter Program LBA’s birthday celebrations begin with a connection with the three shelters that they serve. They share with them who is celebrating their birthday the following month, and provide a wish list. Thoughtfully chosen gifts and essential items are collected and prepared for the birthday gifts. It is LBA’s goal to create an environment of pure excitement and joy for the children. Some of the children have never had “their” day celebrated. Volunteers arrive the day of the party and decorate the room from top to bottom with

colorful decorations, provide games, cupcakes, goody bags, and, of course, the birthday presents. These are all of the exciting aspects of a traditional party that most of us grew up counting down the days till. School Program For homeless children not living in a shelter, LBA connects with the school district’s homeless advocates. They share the initials, age, gender, birthday, and a wish list. Each child is provided a large duffle bag, lap desk, hygiene kit, socks, shoes, school supply kit, snacks, wrapped gifts, a bible, and other essential items for each child. Placing everything into a duffel bag gives them something to keep their personal items in, and provides privacy for them. Everything is delivered to the child by the

school’s homeless advocate. Currently serving Indian River and St. Lucie County schools. Keeping the Candles Lit LBA relies solely on the support of individuals, local corporate donations, and foundation support. Every dollar counts! You can help raise vital funds by supporting Little Birthday Angels at their annual fundraiser. Crushin’ It at the Winery, a night of fun and fundraising, held at Summer Crush Winery in Fort Pierce on April 6, 2019 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Diamonds in the Rough Camp Haven creates a supportive environment where men seeking a way out of homelessness can transform their lives, much like lumps of coal transformed into diamonds with support and guidance that allows the men to rejoin society as contributing members. In celebration of the success and growth of the nonprofit, Camp Haven Inc. invites the community to the sixth annual fundraising gala, Diamonds in the Rough, which will take place at the Grand Harbor Golf Clubhouse on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. with cocktails, dinner and music by Bobby & The Blisters. Camp Haven’s mission is to transform the lives of homeless men in Indian River County by providing a safe environment that will help them break free from destitution and despair. With an emphasis on accountability, our residents are mentally and physically trained to re-enter society and find jobs with the goal of becoming contributing members of the community. The transitional home provides supportive living opportunities and education to adults committed to rising out of homelessness. By implementing a thoughtful

intake procedure, and strict adherence to guidelines, residents in our program, receive educational opportunities, counseling and encouragement, as they move from homelessness to hopefulness, eventually becoming active, engaged, contributing members of our community. To learn more about Camp Haven join them at the seventh annual Diamonds in the Rough gala and learn firsthand from one of Camp Haven’s men how he fought his way back from the despair of homelessness. The event is to be held at Grand Harbor Golf Clubhouse, 4985 Club Terrace. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Music by Bobby & The Blisters. Live and silent auction items will be available for bidding. Tickets to the gala are $195 per person. RSVP to 772-999-3625, 772633-0904 or CampHaven.net.

What is a

?

Solid State Drive

Jurgen / tech-owner

Basically it is considered a hard-drive without any moving mechanical parts and is based on memory technology. Why would you want one instead of a regular drive ? 1. Much much faster speeds, really makes a difference in how your PC boots and runs overall. .. Reliability - Instead of relying on old mechanical technology that basically works like a record player these drives are just like the name says, solid reliablility !

Where can I get a PC with one already installed or upgrade my PC ? At act computers of course. All of our custom built

Desktop PC’s now come standard with Solid State Drives, or we can give your slow old PC a new lease on life with a drive upgrade.

Nazhi Thee Baker Foundation was started to help children battle Sickle Cell Disease. 14 year-old Nazhi Forrest and her two sisters, Shakarra (18) and Italiya (11), share the rare scenario where all three of them battle Sickle Cell Disease! Nazhi came up with recipes for cakes that ANYONE could enjoy; even people battling Sickle Cell Disease or on restricted diets. She uses the proceeds of her cakes to buy toys and items needed by children stuck in the hospital fighting this disease. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) affects approximately 100,000

Americans, occurs in about one out of every 365 African-American births and affects about one out of every 16,300 Hispanic-American births! The Forrest Sisters decided to create events to give back to the SCD youth of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital on a larger scale. They came up with the concept of a TLC Bag, which has toys and health aides to bring smiles to the kid’s faces during long hospital stays. The bags have musical toys, socks, coloring books, dolls, action figures, pinwheels to help the kids practice breathing exercises and even jump ropes, to encourage the kids to work out and be as healthy as possible. Have you visited your local historical museum lately? By Ellen Stanley

The Sebastian Area Historical Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving local history and promoting public interest in local history. It is maintained by volunteers, and solely funded by donations. In order to inform the public about local history, and preserve early local artifacts, SAHSI maintains the Sebastian Area Historical Museum, and sponsors lectures at the library by local historians. A visit to the Sebastian Area Historical Museum is an opportunity to take a journey into the past. It is housed in the old school building on Main Street. Its collections bring to life the rich heritage of our area. Ais Indian shells and pottery are on display. Some of the objects that were recovered from treasure ships are exhibited, as well as implements of the farming and fishing industries. Reminders of the boats on the waterways, and the railroad that provided local access may be seen.

Pioneer family life can be envisioned here in the many artifacts and old photographs. Special tours for groups are offered. Student tours are especially welcome so that they may experience first-hand some of the early history of their community. The Sebastian Area Historical Society, Inc. provides thought-provoking and educational programs at the North County Library, October, November, January, February and March each year. Local speakers present programs pertaining to the dynamic heritage our county enjoys. Brochures about the museum may be found at many locations around the area. A Newsletter is mailed to SAHSI members quarterly about current activities of the society. The Sebastian Area Historical Society address is P. O. Box 781348, Sebastian, FL 32978-1348. The museum is located at 1235 Main Street, Sebastian. It is open Tues Wed. Thurs., & 1st & 3rd Sat., 11 am-2 pm. Find SAHSI online at sebastianareahistoricalmuseum.com, and at sahsi@att. net. 772-581-1380.

What are you really invested in?

Many investors are shocked to discover that they are profiting from and supporting such activities as abortion, pornography, human trafficking and other practices through their investment portfolios that may not align with their values. They are also wanting their investments to have a positive impact in their communities, the environment and our society. Research is now also consistently showing that using Values-Based Investing* criteria in investing does not have a negative effect on performance. Instead, research is suggesting that the relationship tilts more heavily towards out-performance. A recent report by Mercer Research reviewed 36 academic studies on the relationship between using Values-Based Investing like criteria in the investment process (they use the term ESG – environment, social, governance). They found that 83% of the studies concluded that the relationship was neutral or positive.

SEBASTIAN RIVER ART CLUB

Promoting interest in, and appreciation for the arts What began as a small painting group in 1937, has become the SEBASTIAN RIVER ART CLUB (SRAC), an active 501C3 nonprofit, promoting interest in, and appreciation for the arts through painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media. The club further promotes charitable functions through sponsorship of scholarships, public art shows, festivals, exhibitions and other fundraising activities within the city of Sebastian.

The club offers affordable adult art education opportunities to members and the general public. Classes are offered weekdays, evenings and Saturdays. Visit their website at: www.sebasianriverartclub.com for class and workshop schedules. SRAC members have many opportunities to share their art in Sebastian and the surrounding areas. Under the club’s ART AROUND TOWN program, members display their art at Sebastian River Medical Center, North County Library in Sebastian, Sebastian City Hall, Sebastian Chamber of Commerce and other business locations throughout the community.

Annual events include: ART BY THE RIVER shows, which take place at Sebastian Riverview Park, November through April; a Lagoon Show and a Pelican Island Preservation Art Show, which benefit various Lagoon friendly non-profits. In October, 2007, SRAC established the Rosalee Taylor Hume Scholarship in memory of one of their founding members. Rosalee Taylor Hume was a superb artist and a gifted sculptress, her bronze sculpture of Paul Kroegel, the warden of the National Wildlife Preserve (Pelican Island), stands proudly on Indian River Drive, across from Riverview Park. Her sculpture of Bama Vickers Lawson can be viewed at the North County Library.

Members work diligently throughout the year fundraising to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to pursue a career in the arts. In 2018, two $1,000 scholarships were awarded. Another philanthropic endeavor includes the annual donation to the Ecumenical Food Pantry. Small paintings, referred to as” Little Gems”, are painted year round. In November and December, these works of art are available for sale in the Gallery, with all the proceeds benefiting the Food Pantry. At year end, donations are made to assist local organizations in their community action programs, such as: Boys & Girls Club, Sebastian River High School’s Chum Bucket, Art Programs at both the High School and Middle School, and other charities voted on by the members. On occasion, the club has designed and painted wall murals for local organizations and the city’s Community Center.

Sebastian River Art Club is a place of growth in art, friendship, philanthropy and fun. Visit the art center and gallery on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 and 3 P.M. New members are always welcome. The Gallery, classes, workshops, meetings and many events are held at the art center located at: Sebastian River Art Club, 1245 Main St., Sebastian, FL. The McCabe Connections Center is helping! “Lois” called from Connecticut. She was concerned about her 85 year old father in Vero Beach. He is taking an antidepressant medication but has been more isolated and been drinking more than usual. She had called several providers in town but ran into some roadblocks until she was referred to the McCabe Connections Center. After she explained her story, we arranged a three-way conversation

with her father. He was safe but in need of help. We arranged a therapy appointment within a week and an appointment with a psychiatric nurse practitioner within three weeks. Lois said that she was amazed that we accomplished in 20 minutes what she could not do in three hours on the internet and telephone. She doesn’t understand why every community doesn’t have a McCabe Connections Center.

Restaurant Review:

Healthy Dining in a Clubhouse Setting Something for every appetite!

By Susan Harris

We are going to let you in on a secret: Counter Culture has opened at The Boulevard Tennis Club on Indian River Boulevard in Vero Beach. And it’s open to the public. Yes, everyone is welcome. Located in a beautiful high ceiling room with many windows that look out over the club and the tennis courts both your tummy and your decorating eye will be happy. In other words the food is yummy, as is the view. What I’ve always liked about the cuisine by the husband wife team of Chef Anthony and Chef Lisa is that the food is fresh and natural. It caters to vegans, vegetarians and meat lovers. And though healthy and good for you, it’s tasty. The teas are good whether cold or hot or one of their custom coffee blends. I enjoyed the hot cinnamon tea but the vanilla blend sounded luscious too. I will try that the

Chefs Anthony and Lisa Damiano

Photos by Scott Finney next time I visit. The Chef duo listens to their clients and gets the Vero Vibe. There is something for everyone at their table. Their baked goods are gluten free but everyone in our party agreed that Chef Lisa’s baked goodies reminded them of treats from the past that your favorite Aunt or Grandmother made. Chef Lisa has the knack for magically satisfying every sweet tooth and the baked goods presentation rotates every two weeks. Making afternoon tea or coffee a joy with something new to nibble at and gossip over. The grass fed burger had been a big favorite when they were on 14th Avenue in downtown Vero Beach and it remains a delicious choice. So delicious that the tomatoes, onions and organic greens were enough. No mustard, ketchup or mayo needed. It was juicy and had a lovely aroma especially delightful, during the cool winter season.

The grass fed burger

Another specialty of the house is the Panzella Chicken. Roasted red peppers, house made mozzarella, candied tomatoes, arugula on rustic ciabatta bread from the Tribecca Bakery with basil pesto aiolo sauce. One member of the party pronounced it “magnifico” and said that it is the type of dish that you never tire of as your taste buds always find a different blend of the ingredients to savour.

Panzella Chicken

The cauliflower crust pizza was a first and had a few of us intrigued so we opted for it. It had a San Marzano tomato sauce, garlic and house made mozzarella with fresh basil. Very nice with a unique flavor that we enjoyed. Last but definitely not least was the Flying Avocado Flat (love the name). It features gouda cheese chicken, avocado, house made hummus, tomatoes with sprouts and balsamic drizzle. Four star crowd pleaser.

The cauliflower crust pizza

And though we mentioned desserts earlier the chocolate orange torte was incredible. It has zest, juice from Natalie’s and dates. It was a hit across the board and when we say Chef Lisa is a wizard with desserts the accolades are well deserved. The food at Counter Culture is 90% organic and they have maintained their prices. The room is spacious and seats up to 150. Great for events and parties. They are open for lunch and dinner. As if that isn’t enough they will soon be offering home replacement meals they call “Cooking for You”. Call 778-4200 to find out about their Specialty Nights such as Taco Tuesday. As we were leaving Chef Anthony said that a wood-burning pizza oven might be a future surprise!

All of my experiences translate into my work “I’ve been in concrete about ten years.

I started out my adult life in concrete, coatings and stuff related. I worked for various contractors - I did a lot of driveways, pool decks, garages and all kinds of traditional things. After I mastered the technical part of installations, that’s when I branched out on my own and started doing artistic applications. Some people get confused with the logistics of my work - they think I just paint on the ground. It’s so much more than that. It’s actually the same stuff you use in restaurants, aircraft hangers, airports, factories, malls and places all over the world. It’s the height of the market in industrial coatings, and now it’s being used as an artistic medium. Life is what happens while you’re busy working. That is life. And life is gorgeous. Today, I get to be here at McKee Botanical Gardens, carve a three-story tall tree, holding a pirate ship up in the sky while some people are working away at a desk. That’s what it comes down to, and what my passion is and why I’m doing what I’m doing. There are so many artists that are stuck in a job where they don’t have the means to express their creativity.

“I punched a shark in the face last summer - it was really super scary. Going diving is the most cathedral experience you’ll ever have. It’s the only time in your life that you’ll ever truly be alone in this world. You get confronted with your true self when there’s nobody to talk to. The only sound you can hear is the breathing of your own bubbles - you’re trapped, you can’t go anywhere, and you’re sustaining your own life under water. So, you’re really confronted with exactly who you are. You can start freaking out inside of your head - your thoughts are the only thing that are real at that moment. When I’m doing really scary business things, that are really big - I always go back to that time when I instinctively punched that shark. It sounds really corny, but it makes me realize I can do anything. I try to take all of my experiences and translate them into my work, whether it be through application or service. What I’m really working on is changing the paradigm of the starving artist. That doesn’t look anything like concrete - this is just the vehicle I’m using to get there. I’ve got big plans in the next five to ten years that will start revealing it all. It’s just so hard

to summarize. Right now, what it looks like is a real world education for artists how to market and brand themselves to make a living with their art. To start creating art that is practical - stuff that people are already buying, such as floors, or pool grottos and other vertical sculpture. If only more people knew what I could do to their floors! I mean, that part of the business is really starting to ramp up, which is wonderful because it gets us that much closer to our goals of educating and creating more jobs for Artists.” “I struggle with people not knowing that our service exists, it’s so unique! In turn, the Artists that we employ need a very specific skill set. In a field like this, if you’re having a bad day - it shows in your work. If you don’t enjoy your work, it shows. You feel the spirit of the artist in their work, so finding the right people who can leave their woes at the door has proven to be an experience. It’s especially difficult because there are a lot of people who are artists, but there are only a few artists who can do manual labor at the same time - and in the Florida sun. That’s the truth, it is manual labor. If I spend fifty hours on a floor, I would say forty of them are on preparation. That’s the dirty, dusty, nasty part - the background; the part nobody sees. That’s always the hardest. And the most important. The clients don’t know that part - all they see are the end results - which is how it should be. I usually end up with a personal relationship with my clients by the time we’re done. We’re family. It’s always an experience. It’s a fun time. When you think about renovating your floors - it can be a super stressful moment. You have to get everything out, you have to trust who you have in there, you have to kind of like them a little bit. They’re in your house. You have to trust that they’re going to do what they say they’re going to do. And be on time. It comes down to just making sure you’re genuine in your efforts, and being real with any obstacles on a project.

Being knowledgeable on what you do is one of the most important aspects of any professional. If people have concrete floors or walls or showers or pools, if they have anything they want to make look better - I’m here, I’m ready. Let’s set up a consultation.” Excerpt from Vero Sphere by Karen Hodge. To see the full story or to meet other Vero Local Professionals, visit www.facebook. com/VeroSphereOfficial/

Creativity At Its Best To Support Our Community by Camy De Mario

The Vero Beach Art Club (VBAC) has a long history of success since 1936 as a non-profit organization. Through art exhibits and other social events, the mission is to support not just local artists, but also offering scholarships to young students in the Indian River County School District who wish continuing to study art related courses into college.

Art In The Park 2018 - Photo Credit: Jemal Hayes

Financial support also applies to teachers providing art programs in our schools and to the district recreational department. The VBAC welcomes any type of talent; from painters, photographers, sculptors or jewelers, to just art lovers who want to become a vital part of our creative community. We also encourage young artists to join with affordable Junior Memberships for those ages 1217 and a No Charge Auxiliary Memberships for ages 11 and under. The organization is run mainly by volunteers except for the Executive Director and Administrative Assistant. Without volunteers, the VBAC could not offer events or provide the funds for scholarships. There are many different types of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We have volunteers who can work from home, work only on a specific event or area, or chair a large event or project.

Art By The Sea 2018 - Photo Credit: Tom Mc Cauley

For some of the shows like Art By The Sea, Art In The Park and Under The Oaks it is requested that members accumulate volunteer hours in order to be able to participate. Every first Thursday of the month, the VBAC holds its General Meeting inside the Vero Beach Museum of Art, where the Club’s office is also located. It starts at 6:30pm with some refreshments and a social gathering until 7pm when the General Meeting begins. Everyone interested to learn more about the VBAC is welcome to participate since these meetings are open to the public. For more info please visit www.verobeachartclub.org

Celebrating 90 years in IRC By Peggy Gahn

The Garden Club of Indian River County started with a few close friends who all had a love of gardening and community pride. This small group of ladies started this group in 1928. The same group of ladies in 1933 joined the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs for Indian River County. Since the beginning, that small group has grown into what it is now over 240 members, and we have been located in the same location since 1928. The Garden Club just celebrated our 90th Anniversary. The Garden Club seeks to further the education of its members and the public in gardening, floral design, horticulture and landscape design. It endeavors to enrich and beautify Indian River County through various projects, and to study and assist in the protection and conservation of native plants and natural resources. Our major fundraisers are Gardening and Floral Design

programs for members and the public. Civic projects that beautify Indian River County, the annual two day GardenFest! held the first weekend in February at Riverside Park, the annual Christmas Ornament, and a Flower Show every other year where the public is always encouraged to participate. That small group of ladies would have no inkling that their idea would become 9 circles meeting at different days and times, and include men as well. The Garden Club of Indian River County is located at 2526 17th Avenue, Vero Beach, Fl. 32960. Go to www.gardenclubofirc.org or call 772-567-4602. Inquiries and new members are always welcomed.

The “VOICE” of our Community Safety By Paul Bartoszewicz

The Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club was formed on November 1, 1961 with just a handful of local hams. From there it continued to grow, with a current membership of over 85. From the beginning the club has worked with the Office of Civil Defense to support the local government in emergency situations. That mission continues to this day with our assisting the Emergency Operations Center of Indian River County. The VBARC has been instrumental in providing communications during many natural disasters including recent hurricanes Mathew (2016) and Irma (2017). The Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club has had the W4OT call sign for over 50 years. The W4OT call sign was obtained in memory of Harold Sever, who became a silent key

in March, 1965, and thus the VBARC had an official call sign, which we use today for on air special events and hurricane communication. John Larabell KF4BN, was the trustee from about 1983 through 1988. John was vice president in 1991 and President of the club in 1992. John was Eric Larabell’s father. Eric is current President of the VBARC. In 1988, Richard Jackson became the trustee, and renewed the club’s license. He remains the VBARC trustee, and in 2018 has renewed our club’s license. In 2017, the VBARC qualified with the ARRL and was bestowed the designation as a SPECIAL SERVICE CLUB. We also have been an affiliated club with ARRL for 50 years ! Our most current club endeavor has been achieving the designation as a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit organization...the Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club Inc.

VBARC offers a variety of fun activities to keep your HAM RADIO hobby interesting.... • Annual Field Day Weekend • Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) Training • Weekly VBARC Network on Mondays • Weekly ARES Network and DMR Network on Tuesdays • Monthly meetings at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) • QRP (Low power) sessions at different parks in area once a month • Digital University (DU) Training once a month The VBARC meets at the EOC (located on 43rd Avenue) at 7:30 pm on the second Thursday of each month. ANYONE with interested in Amateur Radio is welcomed to attend.

If you wish, you can talk to one of our members about the process for obtaining your license. We welcome all to attend one of our meetings.

Local Author Brings History to Life IS BOOK READING ARCHAIC and not fashionable anymore? No, Klaus Schwanitz does not think so, and his many readers agree. For more than twenty years he owned ACT COMPUTERS, together with his son Juergen, who is taking this great business over and manages it with his reliable staff in a continuously professional manner. Born in the middle of the last century in Berlin, Germany, Klaus received a solid education in business. He worked independently as an entrepreneur and general manager for several large companies. In the 1980’s, he worked in the field of Data processing centers with security equipment that fought against terrorism and dealt with preventing catastrophic events. A quarter of a century ago he moved to Pennsylvania to introduce advanced European security ideas and products to the United States market. Today, he lives in lovely Vero Beach. Nevertheless, he still has enough time to let his imagination run free as he pursues his passion for writing. He started with some novels until he decided to focus more on serious matters of importance, like mankind’s history. This history buff revives old historical books, documentations, and accounts by bringing the almost lost and forgotten past back to life! With over forty books and many short stories, there is sure to be something entertaining for you to find in his collection of writings. In his books, you meet famous people of the past from different countries, kings, knights, noble and villains. He walks you from the deserts of Egypt in KILLING THE DEITY to the whole of Europe in

BATTLE OF HASTINGS, and takes you to the inner circle of King Edward III, the Black Prince, or the French King Jean, who spends years in custody in London after losing the battle of Poitiers in the HUNDRED YEAR WAR. This and many other true stories were recently published in twelve volumes! Are you interested in the Crusades? You have to look for CRUSADERS FOR JERUSALEM or KINGS CRUSADE. His most recent book, FIGHTING FOR RHODES, tells the tale of a young knight’s adventures in the 15th century. All of the books are filled with beautiful maps and illustrations as well. Do you prefer romantic and crime mixed together? Read SCOTLAND YARD ESCAPED, a lovely novel about Raffles, a gentleman thief, and his girlfriend, who move to Australia and start a new life! Check out all of his interesting titles at AMAZON.COM. You can get in touch with Klaus at klausact@gmail.com.
