e welcome you to Hong Kong and to CityLife, the monthly magazine for visitors to Asia’s World City. The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, the city’s premier sporting event and a week-long rugby carnival in its own right, dominates the event calendar this month, together with a slew of high-profile trade shows. The city that never sleeps is more than living up to its moniker as thousands of rugby fans descend on Hong Kong seeking excitement, action, fun and entertainment. The Hong Kong Sevens is the granddaddy of rugby sevens tournaments and the crown jewel in the 10-stop HSBC World Rugby series. The 40,000-seat Hong Kong stadium will be packed to the gills over the three-day weekend with exciting non-stop action on the field and wildly enthusiastic celebration in the stands. Then the party spills over to all the dining and entertainment districts in the city as fans revel through the night. Hong Kong is a city of contrasts in so many ways, especially that between its stunning cityscape and the natural beauty of its harbour, mountains, beaches and islands. That is why Hong Kong is so popular among amateur and professional photographers, or anyone with a smartphone. To learn about some of the best photo spots, check out our cover story on page 10. Hong Kong is also held up as the city with the most skyscrapers in the world, a distinction it has long proudly held. A visitor to Hong Kong can’t help but gawk at all the glimmering tall buildings lining the harbour. We have put together a quick guide introducing some of the more notable skyscrapers that have gone up over the years. See our feature story on page 14 for all the details. April is busy with trade shows, some of the largest in Asia in their respective industries. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair has always been important in this region, as have the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair and Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair, among others. These tradeshows are a fine testament to Hong Kong’s position as a world class MICE hub, due in great part to its superb infrastructure, alongside its excellent hospitality facilities. Several of the shows allow admission by consumers and they are well worth a visit. Several global music names are performing here this month, including a stopover by superstar pop singer Ed Sheeran. Check out our Calendar section for more. Whether it’s the Hong Kong Sevens, the trade shows, taking memorable pictures or gazing at skyscrapers, April is such an exciting month to visit Hong Kong. Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition)
The HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) 2019 is a strong trading platform with a global reputation. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Spring Lighting Fair takes place from 6-9 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with more than 1,350 exhibitors due to take part.

The popular festival returns in celebration of the Thai New Year. Originally lasting only for a day, Songkran Hong Kong has expanded the celebration to three whole days. Asia’s leading HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair is welcoming its 34th edition in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 20-23 April 2019. HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair
The fair will be held concurrently with the HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair, which is the largest event of its kind in Asia. The two fairs together form a one-stop sourcing platform to meet buyers’ needs for all kinds of household items and home textiles. Last year, close to 49,000 buyers from 112 countries and regions visited the two fairs, among them, more than 19,000 buyers visited the Home Textiles Fair.

Jazz Marathon for international Jazz Day
With the purposes of exploring the limits of jazz music, demonstrating the interactions between the mainstream and the niche, and showcasing the unique character as well as brilliant expressions of jazz music from different parts of the world. It will bring together renowned jazz players of all nationalities to jam and create “all that jazz”: bebop, fusion, big band sounds; variants like ethnic jazz, gypsy jazz, tango jazz, flamenco jazz, and more. The overseas artists will join with local musicians to create a borderless soundscape through jazz. They can be fittingly described as “médecins sans frontières” of the heart and the soul with their music.

Tin Hau Birthday Celebration
Tin Hau, Goddess of the Sea and patron saint of fishermen, is the most worshipped deity in Hong Kong, thanks to the city’s historic roots as an area of fishing villages. Tin Hau’s birthday, which falls on the 23rd day of the third lunar month, attracts thousands of worshippers and revellers to the many Tin Hau temples still in use around the city. Check out the festivities at Shap Pat Heung in Yuen Long and watch a three-hour parade with dancers and marching bands and villagers vying to win the Fa Pau Raffle for good luck and fortune. Visitors may also join in the celebration at Joss House Bay in Sai Kung District as thousands descend on the city’s largest and oldest Tin Hau Temple, with roots dating back to the Song Dynasty.

CAPTAIN CAINE – FOUNDER OF THE HONG KONG POLICE 堅恩上尉 Arthur Hacker tells the story of Captain William Caine and his contribution to Hong Kong's fascinating history. 亞瑟 克赫細說堅恩上尉的故事，窺探香港奇趣引人 的歷史。

t is said that an early visitor to Hong Kong once asked a local Chinese the name of the colony's governor. "Major Caine!" was the instant reply. In fact, Captain (later Major) William Caine, of the 26th Regiment of Foot (the Cameronians), was not the governor but played a substantial role in early Hong Kong. Caine founded the Hong Kong Police Force, had fought in the Opium War, became Hong Kong's first Chief Magistrate in 1841 and was, among other things, responsible for law and order in the new British colony. Caine Road, in Mid-levels, is named after him. He was born in India where he became a boy soldier in the armies of the British Raj. As a military man and a colonial administrator, he spent almost half a century serving in Asia. After he retired as Lieutenant-Governor of Hong Kong, he eventually took ship to England. Following the British occupation of the island, the population shot up dramatically. Many of the newcomers were undesirable and created a crime wave. Caine remarked that: "nine-tenths of our Chinese subjects and about half our low European inhabitants have been in the most depraved condition."

Unfortunately, Caine initially had little knowledge of British common law and hadn't a clue about Chinese law, but he did his best. He had to borrow soldiers from the garrison to act as policemen, which caused numerous problems. ln desperation he would often be seen late at night patrolling the streets himself. It was four years before London agreed to provide a Captain Superintendent of Police and at last Caine was able to devote his time to his other administrative duties. At the time, Hong Kong's expatriates formed a tiny, disgruntled, hotchpotch community where the stern upholders of Victorian morality couldn't fail to rub shoulders with dubious entrepreneurs, opium dealers, pirates, crooks and con-men, this civilian community was so small that saints and sinners couldn't avoid each other and inevitably quarrelled. William Tarrant was a model civil servant. He was efficient, hardworking and incorruptible. He has been described as "more honest than politic" and this admirable trait brought him into direct confrontation with Major William Caine. Tarrant had discovered that Caine's compradore (Chinese assistant), Lo ln Tin, was demanding a squeeze from the stallholders

of Central Market in the Major's name. This was known as "Caine duty money". Being a good, honest, if naive, civil servant, Tarrant reported the crime to his superior. Instead of being praised for his diligence, Tarrant was suspended from office for "conspiring to injure the character of Major Caine." Questions were raised in the Houses of Parliament and almost two years later the case against Tarrant was dismissed. Lo ln Tin fled the colony and the Secretary of State, Lord Grey, ordered the Hong Kong Government to pay Tarrant two years wages in compensation. This was done, but the Government refused to reinstate Tarrant in the civil service.

Tarrant was justifiably upset. He used his back pay to buy a newspaper called the Friend of China. For the next decade, the embittered Tarrant used every opportunity to revile Caine in his newspaper. In 1859, Caine, now the exalted Lieutenant-Governor, was about to retire to England. Tarrant printed a scathing attack on Caine. It was published the day before Caine was due to leave Hong Kong.
可是，盡忠職守的泰倫並沒有獲得讚揚，反而因為「意圖損 毀堅恩司令的名譽」，被下令停職。
Caine postponed his departure and sued Tarrant for libel. With Machiavellian cunning, he retained the services of every lawyer in Hong Kong and Tarrant was forced to conduct his own defence in court. He was found guilty and sentenced to one year's imprisonment and fined fifty pounds. There was a storm of righteous protest, both in Hong Kong and London, against Caine's ungentlemanly conduct. Tarrant was released after six months in prison and the fine was paid by public subscription.

The pedestrian crossing on Hennessey Road outside the Sogo department store is one of the busiest in the city. or many, the defining feature of Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour is the hundreds of skyscrapers that line its waterfront on both sides, with many jutting out from the steep surrounding hills. According to most surveys, Hong Kong has the most skyscrapers in the world. The city has over 350 buildings of 150 metres or taller – about 40 storeys tall (NYC is next at over 270) and a whopping 1,500-plus buildings over 100 metres height. The night view of Victoria Harbour with the skyscrapers lighting up the sky is an image recognisable around the world.

The headquarters of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (designed by renowned British architect Norman Foster) sits on the southern side of Central’s historic Statue Square, near the colonial beauty that is the Old Supreme Court Building.
For many, this unmistakable tower is the defining structure of the Hong Kong skyline. It was designed by award-winning Chinese-born American architect IM Pei, the genius behind the Louvre Pyramid in Paris.
Did you know? The building consists of prefabricated steel modules and, according to urban myth, can be dismantled and shifted from its base whenever needed. 坐落於中環歷史悠久的皇后像廣場南面，鄰近殖民地風格 建築舊最高法院大樓，由知名英國建築師諾曼．福斯特設 計建造，是香港上海滙豐銀行有限公司的總部所在。

Several feng shui elements were incorporated into the building, including the guard lions at the building’s entrance (Stephen and Stitt). The pair were brought back to Hong Kong from Japan following the end of WWII after an American sailor recognised them in an Osaka dockyard. The twin tower complex based in Tsuen Wan (end of the red line) has the most inscrutable of pasts. The late owner of Chinachem Group (real estate) Nina Wang had her sights set on building the tallest tower in the world at 518 metres. However, due to its location near the Hong Kong International Airport, its height was restricted to 319.8 metres. Wang then broke the plan down into two towers, the taller of which ‘Teddy’ was named after her husband Teddy Wang – one of China’s richest men, kidnapped in 1990 and never found again. 坐落於荃灣，由兩座商業樓組成。華懋集團前掌舵人龔如心本來有意將 之建為全球最高摩天大樓（518米）。但由於香港國際機場遷往其附近的 赤鱲角，該棟大樓的高度被限制在319.8米。龔如心因此改變計劃，將如 心廣場一分為二，高的那棟以她丈夫王德輝的洋名 Teddy 命名；後者是 中國最富有的人物之一，1990年被綁架後至今下落不明。

T
he 44th edition of the Cathay Pacific/ HSBC Hong Kong Sevens and the granddaddy of the Sevens Series tournaments takes centre stage this month in Hong Kong with cheering fans packing the Hong Kong Stadium and spilling into the streets of Hong Kong for a week of exciting action and non-stop partying. This year, a whopping 40 teams will compete in three competitions, headlined by the 15 teams going head to head in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series core competition. Also, Hong Kong is again hosting the 12-team Men’s Qualifier event from which one nation will advance to full-time participation in the 2020 Core Team competition. And, for the second consecutive year, Hong Kong is hosting the 12team Women’s Qualifier for next year’s Series. With the stakes high in all three competitions, expect tense action aand total effort by the participating teams. And the action spills into the streets over Rugby Week, with several off-site fun-filled activities being held as part of the festivities. So, if you don’t have a ticket, don’t worry, you can join in any of these activities and catch all the action on live broadcast there. These events include the Hong Kong Sevens Concert with Gwen Stefani, held at the Central Harbourfront event space. The same venue is hosting the Hong Kong Sevens Central with live broadcast, live music and a variety of entertainment. Our gastronomic journey this month took us to two venerable restaurants that epitomise the fine-dining experience. 本月我們的美食之旅到訪了兩家歷史悠久的餐廳，它們的存在定義了什麼是永恆珍饈。

d i n n e r, o r a n y m e a l f o r t h a t m a t t e r, a t the Verandah, the elegant, colonial-style restaurant in Repulse Bay, is a special occasion to be savoured. Located on the site of the former Repulse Bay Hotel, a historic establishment that was redeveloped in to a luxury apartment/commercial c o m p l e x a n d r e n a m e d T h e R e p u l s e B a y, t h e Verandah commands stunning views of the green lawns and tropical garden below, as well as the vista of the beach and the seas beyond. The restaurant serves fine continental fare using the freshest and choicest ingredients. The décor of the restaurant harkens back to a bygone era of class and grace; a sweeping grand staircase and its generous foyer add to the grandeur of the place. Its settings are classic yet comfortable: candlelit tables with linen tablecloths as the soft tinkling of a piano sets the ambience. The Verandah is known as one of the city’s top choices for a romantic dinner or to celebrate a special occasion; it’s also frequented by regulars for its English Afternoon Tea ($308 per person and $588 for two persons on weekdays, and $328 and $604 respectively on weekends and public holidays) for its famous scones, savouries and sweets and its variety of Peninsula Tea. It also serves a sumptuous Sunday Brunch – $688 (adult) and $344 (child) – that is also a hit with nearby residents.

Our dinner began with a trio of appetisers for sharing: Alaskan King Crab ($388) avocado cannelloni, Oscietra caviar, citrus salad; the uber fresh and tender Hokkaido Scallop ($288), herbgarlic butter, cauliflower mousseline, crisp potato, and Heirloom Cherry Tomato ($238), Granny Smith apple, avocado, cucumber. Potel Chablis, Burgundy went well with the starters. The soup at the Verandah is also known to be excellent. We collectively ordered three: the richly flavoured Lobster Bisque of Boston ($188), the Oxtail Consommé ($168) and Black Truffle and Wild Mushroom Cream Soup ($188) – all three were more than delightfully tasty. For the mains, we ordered two to be shared: the Verandah Seafood Mixed Grill ($608) with lobster medallion, Akaroa NZ King Salmon, black mussels, king prawn and scallops with herb butter and roasted ratte potatoes with green asparagus, Bearnaise sauce and Steak Tartare ($428), ground raw lean Australian OBE organic Angus beef tenderloin served with toasted rye bread, green salad and pommes gaufrette. The Steak Tartare was expertly prepared (kneading and mixing) at the table and tasted yummy. A very nice Medoc, 2013 Les Fiefs de Lagrange, St. Julien, complemented the entrees. We b a r e l y h a d r o o m f o r d e s s e r t s b u t h e l d out for three classics of The Verandah including our favourite Crêpes Suzette ($258, two people minimum), Baked Alaska ($138), and The Repulse Bay Souffles ($138), with several flavours to choose from. Our dinner at the Verandah was easily one of our dining highlights of the year: relaxing yet elegant ambience, a sense of history and grandeur, excellent food and wine and impeccable service. For a memorable dining experience in Hong Kong, something you can tell of when you get home, it would be hard to better the Verandah.■

andarin Grill + Bar, one of Hong Kong’s most esteemed fine-dining restaurants, in the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is a gathering place for power breakfasts and lunches for the business elite, and still garners accolades and awards after so many years. A one–Michelin star restaurant for ten years running, Mandarin Grill + Bar, under Chef de Cuisine Simon Guthridge and his team, serves classic grill specialities with a contemporary twist and seasonally inspired dishes, using the best meat, game, seafood and produce ingredients sourced from around the world. The menu offers a large selection of meat and seafood dishes and a range of superbly-concocted desserts. A few years ago, the restaurant went through a redesign by the institution that is Sir Terence Conran, in which contemporary design features were introduced to lift the look a little, while retaining the traditional, unashamedly posh, clubby atmosphere that its regular guests expect. The restaurant’s classic deep booths and high-back chairs are still there, a fond throwback to yesteryear. There is now a private dining room for up to 14 people, with a frosted window partition giving guests an unimpeded view of the show kitchen.

We took the occasion to sample the Grill’s Classic Tasting Menu ($1,388 per person), a 5-course delight. The selected dishes are mostly the restaurant’s signatures – so we knew we were in for a real treat.
Banoffee Cake 香蕉拖肥蛋糕
Our dinner started with a winner, the Housemade Applewood Smoked Salmon. As the name suggests, quality Atlantic salmon was carefully aged in-house at the restaurant and smoked from an applewood accented fire. The salmon’s subtle smoky flavour is distinctive, while allowing the meat’s tender taste to come through. The next appetiser was the Steak Tartare with Sourdough. We are always partial to sourdough

bread as it goes well with the tartare. We also liked the texture of the beef and its seasonings. Next came Traditional Lobster Bisque, a staple of any highend steakhouse. The soup is richly flavoured and we appreciated the generous portion of succulent lobster chunks. Two main courses were available: Slow-roasted USDA Prime Beef Rib and Dover Sole on the Bone. Both are Mandarin Grill’s signature dishes, so we decided to sample them both, and share. We like our beef medium rare, which is perfect for the beef rib. The slow-cooking brings out the beef flavour fully while keeping the meat tender and juicy. The Dover sole is also superb, the fillet’s texture is firm, and it tastes moist and succulent. We rounded up our dinner with Custard Tart and Banoffee Cake, both light enough that we were able to finish them all, as a fitting close to an excellent meal. Mandarin Grill + Bar is still a first choice for discerning diners in search of a fine meal. Many a major transaction has been sealed over the dining tables of this august restaurant. Whether or not you have deals to do, to impress your clients or business associates with an exceptional meal, you won’t go wrong with the Mandarin Grill + Bar.■

我們的晚餐以自製蘋果木煙熏三文魚開始。顧名思義，優質的大西洋 三文魚經過精心釀製，並以蘋果木火焰熏制。此般烹飪後的三文魚風味獨 特，肉質滑嫩。 下一道開胃菜是韃靼牛排配德國酸種麵包多士，酸麵包與韃靼搭配巧 妙。牛肉的質地和口味都讓人讚不絕口。接下來是傳統法式龍蝦湯，每一 家高檔餐廳都會配有這道主食。湯汁濃郁，而且龍蝦肉大塊且份量足。 有兩道主食可供選擇：慢燒 USDA 美國頂級牛肋肉或是烤或法式牛 油煎龍脷柳，兩者都是餐廳的招牌，我們最後互相分享，兩種美味盡入口 中。半熟的牛肋骨最為美味，慢燉法在保持牛肉鮮嫩多汁的同時，也讓牛 肉的鮮味盡顯。龍脷魚也是高質素美食，魚肉鮮嫩多汁又耐嚼。 我們以吉士撻和香蕉拖肥蛋糕結束了晚餐，份量剛好，也為這頓美饌 畫上圓滿句號。 文華扒房及酒吧是追求精緻食客的首選。傳聞中不少 重要的商業交 易均曾在此餐廳達成協議。倘若您並沒有什麼商業交易，但食在這裡， 您可以讓客戶或商業伙伴十分滿意，印象深刻，何樂而不為！■

Cobo House
Tucked down a side street in trendy Sai Wan on Hong Kong Island is Cobo House, an artsy restaurant that celebrates Bohemian living – Cobo stands for ‘Community of Bohemians’. Art and artistry permeate every element of the restaurant, from its contemporary décor to its curated art pieces – personally selected and acquired by business tycoon Adrian Cheng, founder of K11 Art Foundation and head of the New World Group – to its sourced fine esoteric crafts and wares and gourmet products. The two-storey restaurant includes a dining room on the ground floor and a secluded event space for exhibition and private dining upstirs, with paintings from avant garde artists adorning many of the walls. An adjacent café, Artisan Room, with a lovely outdoor garden porch area, offers the finest Italian coffees, French organic teas ad delectable pastries and sandwiches. The menu, designed by Chef David Kim, is Italian with a Korean influence, a reflection of Kim’s own culinary roots. It also serves specialty cocktails and mocktails. The food dishes are a paragon of creativity. Dishes we tried included Homemade Beet Cheese Ravioli ($168), the succulent Hokkaido Scallops ($188/ 4 pieces), the signature Flat bread – Beauty & Beef ($328), Abalone Risotto ($258), and Okinawa Pork Belly ($328). Desserts included Pop Mountain ($188) which is salted popcorn and Soybean Tiramisu ($198); we capped off our meal with Jingdezhen’s Coffee Jug, a hand-drip and cold brew coffee from Artisan Room. Cobo House is making an indelible mark in this style-defining area of Western District, check out the place for a combined sensory experience of food and art.

CLICKED Restaurant and Bar 擊
Clicked Restaurant and Bar is a contemporary Thai fusion restaurant founded by A Jing, a Chinese former beauty queen–turned interior designer. The restaurant, which opened recently to rave reviews, is her brainchild, representing the culmination of the passion and effort that she poured into becoming a restaurateur, including apprenticing with Michelin-starred chefs to learn the trade. Clicked’s décor is urban-edgy but comfortable, using a bold mix of lights, concrete floor, metallic printed walls, to create a resort-loft feel and a relaxed dining setting. The menu is focused on fresh, flavourful dishes made with healthy, quality ingredients sourced from around the world. Clicked also stock a large collection of wine and spirits and cocktails. We sampled a range of its innovative dishes, most of which can be shared; the dishes are all reasonably priced. The small plates included Italian Ham-wrapped Mango Bites ($78), Flash Grilled Japanese Squid with Spicy Green Sauce ($88), Crab Meat Salsa with Avocado Rice Cake ($88) and Deep-fried Soft-shell Crabs Rice Paper Roll ($88 for three pieces). The à la carte dishes included Green Coconut Milk Duck Breast ($128), a trio of seafood dishes: Rock-salt-baked Whole Tilapia with Fresh Herbs & Chili Sauce ($198), Deep-fried Whole Tilapia with Australian Mango Cubes ($228) and Stir-fried Live Mud Crab with Tamarind Sauce and Krachai (seasonal price). The seafood dishes were consistently delicious, as is Clicked Pad Thai with Tiger Prawns and Salted Egg Yolk ($88). The dessert, Mango with Sticky Rice ($78), was also tasty and original. In the city’s crowded dining scene, Clicked stands out for its food and unique setting. Give it a try.

Censers were popular in the Han dynasty. This goose-shaped censer is life-like. The back of the goose body is latticed, allowing smoke to rise from it. The censer is similar in function to the more well-known boshanlu-style censers from the Han period, but its form is very different. Incense was burned not just for the aroma, but also for practical reasons, such as acting as an insect repellent, and to purify the air. ‘Paul Cox’s “Red Hero IV” Photography Exhibition’ at Oi Ling 22 Mar – 7 Apr The photographic works in this exhibition are captured from Paul’s time in Mongolia— a place and whose people he has grown to love deeply. “Red Hero” is the literal meaning of the word “Ulaanbaatar,” the Mongolian capital city. ‘The Art of Photography’ at Fabrik Gallery 7 Mar - 11 Apr In his “Life” series, artist Yoichiro Nishimura embeds years of experiment, capturing the beauty of his own ‘Ikebana’: the Japanese art of flower arrangement. The format that the artist employs expresses the flowers’ elegance, one of the two translations in Japanese Kanji characters for the word flower (華). Silvio Rosenberger, General Manager, The JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, shares with us his career experience and thoughts on the hotel industry. 香港 JW 萬豪酒店總經理盧思沃與我們分享了他在酒店業工作的 經驗和看法 I grew up in then East Germany, and went to a small, elite boarding school in Leipzig, studying high-end hospitality, right around the time the Berlin Wall came down. That allowed me to go and work in Frankfurt, where I eventually joined Marriott. I was attracted to the hotel sector for the variety of things you get involved in: it’s all about people and never boring. For a long time I worked in the finance area and then there was an opportunity to go to Vietnam with Marriott. That was a nice assignment and I’ve stayed in Asia ever since, spending most of my time in China: Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing before taking the GM job here in Hong Kong. I’ve only been here for a short while, but it’s clear that the JW Marriott Hong Kong is a special hotel. Our location is excellent, and we have superb facilities and great F&B outlets. In the end though, it is our associates that have made this hotel so special – the little touch points that they provide and the care and passion they show every day in their work. Many of them have been here for a long time, with quite a few from 30 years ago when the hotel opened. As more luxury hotels open in Hong Kong, we of course will need to keep up with the market. We want to strike a balance between serving the millennials travelling the world more and more and our regular guests who’ve been with us for 20, 30 years or more. How we do that though, I think, still comes down to the associates and the guest experiences they provide that will differentiate us. We want to make sure when our guests check into our hotel, they feel like they’re being looked after, in a personal and caring way. The Marriott Bonvoy, our new rewards programme under one umbrella, which was launched early this year, is going to help a lot. The app is user-friendly and it’s easy to redeem. Best yet, we now have such a large portfolio of hotels – over 6,000 – for our members to choose from, including in unique places in the world where we didn’t previously operate. Social media has greatly impacted how we run hotels. We do review our social media feedback regularly and respond accordingly, although we take a balanced view of it. It does help us with how we train our associates, using it as a feedback tool. Plus, we find out right away what others are doing as well. My favourite part of the job is being able to joke around and make people happy. On the serious side, I just love to walk around talking to our guests and associates and making them feel good. It is so rewarding to see a smile on the face of an associate. My mantra is: positive attitude equals positive results – which is really true in our business. What I like about Hong Kong is that even with so many people living in such a small place, everything works, and so well. I love the ding ding – the tram, and the MTR is fast and efficient.
