Overview
The Business Module Level 4 course is part of the HN Flex programme, which allows students to study individual units and gain a Certificate of Unit Credit, with the opportunity to progress onto a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND).
What you will learn
You will explore the nature of business, how to meet the needs of customers, stakeholders and employees, and how external factors affect business performance. Subject areas include entrepreneurship and small business management, financial accounting, organisational behaviour and understanding and leading change.
How you will be assessed
This course will be assessed through a variety of methods which may include exams, reports, projects and coursework.
Where it can take you
After completing this course, students have the opportunity to progress to a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business. The course content also has applications across a wide range of industry sectors, so most students will take what they have learned into future employment.

Professional Accounting & Taxation Technician
Level 4 Apprenticeship
Overview
This higher apprenticeship is for professional accounting and tax technicians who want to achieve an internationally-recognised AAT qualification. The apprenticeship provides knowledge and skills for new accountants to pursue a career in industry, commerce or practice.
What you will learn
You will build on the skills in financial/ management accounting and taxation gained from your Level 3 studies, covering topics including management accounting budgeting, decision and control, and personal taxation.
How you will be assessed
At the end of your apprenticeship you will complete an end point assessment which consists of a professional discussion supported by a portfolio of evidence.
Where it can take you
Typical roles you could consider after the apprenticeship include commercial analyst, payroll manager, senior bookkeeper, senior financial officer, personal or business tax assistant and more. You could also progress into fully-qualified status with ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA with further study.

Accounting Professional Diploma
Level 4
Overview
This AAT course is a higher-level accounting qualification. If you successfully complete this qualification and fulfil the AAT’s work experience requirements, you can apply for full AAT membership and achieve professional AAT Accountant status.
This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in College.
What you will learn
This course covers a variety of key accounting areas, including management accounting, financial statements, accounting systems, tax, auditing and credit management.
How you will be assessed
This course is assessed through computer-based exams and a synoptic assessment, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.
Where it can take you
The accountancy skills developed by studying this qualification will enable you to progress to study chartered accountancy. The Professional Diploma in Accounting can lead to the achievement of professional AAT (MAAT) status. Employment opportunities include: accounts payable and expenses supervisor, assistant financial accountant, commercial analyst, cost accountant, indirect tax manager, payments and billing manager, payroll manager, senior finance officer, senior insolvency administrator, tax supervisor or VAT accountant.

This programme has been developed to develop practising senior managers. The qualification has been designed to meet the requirements of various MBA programmes, to allow the possibility of negotiating exemptions from such courses.

This course is for students who want to pursue a career in the technical side of computing including software development, installation and support. Game Development and Design
Overview
This course is designed for students who are technical or creative with an eye for designing and developing digital products. The Higher National Certificate has six core units and two optional that cover the digital development sector focusing on games, mobile apps and web. The Higher National Diploma has two core units and six optional that can be selected across a range of specialist pathways.
What you will learn
This course covers a broad range of topics including design and development of games, mobile apps and websites, emerging technologies, digital design production, concept design and modelling techniques. Each unit is assignment-based and involves a project designed to reflect those you would find in industry.
How you will be assessed
This course is assessed through internal assignments, which will be verified externally.
Where it can take you
Upon completion of year 1 and receiving your Higher National Certificate, you can continue studying for a second year to complete your Higher National Diploma. After this, many students begin their careers in games design, web development or animation, or you may choose to top-up your HND to a Bachelor’s degree by studying for a third year at university.
