Lil’ Ninjas Age: 3 - 5 yrs. FREE! Sat, 10 – 10:40 a.m. Multicultural Family Center This is a class designed to teach 3-5 year olds movement and how to follow directions. The class will involve jumping, crawling, diving, acrobatics, and other fun movement drills. This class builds the student’s discipline and basic knowledge to be able to move into martial arts, dance, or gymnastics at a later age. Instructed by Michael Quam, Keegan Quam, and Adam Kieffer. Children’s Hung Gar Kung Fu Age: 6 yrs. & older FREE! Sat, 10 – 11 a.m. Multicultural Family Center Adult Hung Gar Kung Fu Age: 14 & Older FREE! Sat, 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Multicultural Family Center Hung Gar Kung Fu is a southern Chinese martial art training created for military defense in the southern Shaolin Temple. Hung Gar is centered on coordination, conditioning, discipline, and fighting application. Instructed by Michael Quam, , Brian Laird, and Matthew Oppert. This is an ongoing program. Visit www.mfcdbq.com for availability. Capoeira Afro-Brazilian Dance & Martial Arts Age: 6 yrs. & older FREE! Sat, 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Multicultural Family Center Capoeira (pronounced cap-oh-air-uh) finds its roots deep in the culture of slavery in Brazil. Capoeira was a way for them to blend their past culture with their newfound culture in Brazil. The movements reflect the dances of northern Africa, and the martial arts were a way for the slaves to stay limber and practice self-defense. The movements of capoeira are like zumba, gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do, and African dance all rolled into one! Instructed by Michael Quam, Adam Kieffer, and Aubrey Gitter. This is an ongoing program. Tae Kwon Do Age: 7 yrs. & older T/Th

FREE! Multicultural Family Center 7 – 8 p.m. 1157 Central Ave. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean art of hand and foot fighting. This is a useful way for you to learn the art of self-discipline, mental preparation, concentration, and self-control. Various kicking and punching techniques, correct body position, and self-defense will be covered. Instructed by Josh Conley. This is an ongoing program. Registration is required. Teen Hangout Age: 13 – 18 yrs. FREE! MWF, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Multicultural Family Center Come hang out after school at the MFC on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Enjoy a snack, meet other teens, play games, access our wifi, do homework, and use our computers! Registration NOT required. Tween Time Age: 11 – 13 yrs. FREE! Th, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Multicultural Family Center Every other Thursday, 6th and 7th grade students are invited to join us for games, activities, movies, cooking lessons, field trips, and more! Dinner will be served. Registration NOT required.

LGBTQ+ Support Groups Ongoing, 2nd & 4th Monday of each month Youth Groups: Grades 6 - 12 4 - 5:30 p.m. Adult Groups: 18 yrs. and older 6 - 7:30 p.m. The youth and adult support groups are for individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, +plus. The MFC is a place where anyone can feel free to be themselves without concern about being treated differently because of sexual-orientation and/or gender identity/expression. Instructor Coleen Frenzel is an experienced yoga instructor who believes yoga to be essential for mental, emotional, and physical health. Adult Athletics

All adult atheltic leagues are designed to be recreational and fun. However, in an effort to keep the games fair and competitive we have classified the leagues into different divisions. Teams can register for the league of their choice. To be considered a resident team 50% of your roster must reside within Dubuque city limits. Men’s Basketball Leagues Registration Deadline: Friday, Oct. 7 League starts the week of Monday, Oct. 31. Roosevelt Middle School $625/R, $650/NR Leagues are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. All teams will receive a 12-game regular season. The top four teams from each league will automatically qualify for an end-ofthe-season tournament. Game times will be scheduled at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Learn more and register! Women’s & Mixed Volleyball Leagues Registration Deadline: Friday, Oct. 14 League starts the week of Monday, Oct. 31. Roosevelt Middle School $210/R, $225/NR Women’s leagues are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays. Mixed (coed) leagues are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Miracle League

Miracle League of Dubuque Fall Baseball All Ages 10 a.m. - noon FREE! Sat, Aug. 27 - Oct. 15 2970 Miracle League Dr. The Miracle League of Dubuque Baseball League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities which cause them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional baseball leagues. Here are the rules: • Every player bats once each inning • All players are safe on the bases • Every player scores a run each inning • The last one up gets a home run • Community volunteers serve as “buddies” to assist the players • Each team and each player wins every game Fall League started on Aug. 27, but we will continue to take registrations throughout the season.
