Welcome to National Dance Week

Use this event guide to find dozens of dance workshops, classes and activities produced by individuals and organizations throughout the Eugene area. We have something for dance lovers of all interests, ages and abilities.

We hope you join us for this week of celebration. We can’t wait to get moving with you!

Presented by Harmonic Laboratory as part of the Artistic Encounters series

Enjoy public dance performances in Kesey Square Tuesday through Thursday during National Dance Week. Artistic Encounters presents a wide range of dance styles for all to enjoy during lunchtime. No registration necessary.

Tuesday, April 23: Eugene Bhangra

Eugene Bhangra teaches Bhangra and Bollywood dancing to students of all ages and backgrounds who love and appreciate Indian music and culture.

Wednesday, April 24: RETRO

RETRO is a self-taught freestyle movement artist, teacher and mental health advocate. He combines elements and techniques of multiple dance styles while freestyling and creating his own story in the moment.

Thursday, April 25: Adam Kelly

Adam Kelly loves tap dancing his heart out! When he isn’t performing he teaches tap around Eugene and choreographs musicals for local theatre groups.

Presented by Frolicking Meese Céilí Dance

Come try céilí dancing! Céilí (pronounced “kay-lee”) is a social dance style from Ireland. It is related to contra and square dance, but a little faster and danced to Irish music. Classes are beginner-friendly so no partner or dance experience required. Please bring comfortable dance shoes—or be prepared to dance barefoot—and a water bottle.

Can you find the wonderful waltzing witches of Eugene Hexenbrut? Expect them to magically appear at various locations throughout downtown Eugene, such as the Lane County Farmers Market and the Saturday Market.
