Mr . Wood spends much of his free time talking tD students. Here Sophomore Brenda Hartness is asking him a question .

We quite often take for granted the hard work of our teachers who go about their tasks day after day unnoticed. It is to one such man, Mr . Dewall Wood , that we proudly dedicate our annual. He received his education at the University of Nebraska and has been teaching at Golden Hi gh School for six years . Serving 1n the capacity of Head of the Social Studies Department he has helped many students by t eac hing them an appreciation and understanding of history instead of text book facts . Mr . Wood has been a favorite among students for his willingness to let them study what they felt was important and let them freely express their per sonal opinions .

Mr. Wood is married and the father of two children . His hobbies lllclude bicycling , camping and fishing . He 1s constantly seeking new knowledge and improvement and attends summer school as well as classes such as speed read1ng He plans to continue in the teaching profession.

Dewall Wood is always willing to help the students outside the classroom as demonstrated by his coaching of the football team and sponsorship of several clubs throughout hi s years at Golden High. It is with grea t pride that we dedicate the 1968 Gold en High School Year Book to such a man

Sophomores won't do for Se-

The halls of Golden High School became crowded and noisy as students returned for another busy year. Sophomores were extended a special welcome as Se nior s oriented them to the tradit1ons of Golden Hi gh. The week was highlighted by dress-up days and ended with an all-school assembly and kangaroo court.

The opening of school at Golden found students crowding in the halls to get schedules , find classes, greet old friends, and make new ones.
