Trials And Tribulations

A story of the year must, out of tradition , present the highlights of the year. So also must the problems be presented, so the yearbook presents a behind the scenes look at the Trials and Tribulations of GHS. 68-69.

Student Council

Every year a ne,~ group of officers and representatives are elected to Student Council. They go in with enthusiasm and great expectations. But, it takes more than dreams to make a great Student Council. This year ' s Student Council had more than dreams; they had responsible people led by Mr Dick Booton who planned and carried through a successful year. This year

Student Council sent buses to the basketball games which boosted everyone's spirit. They a l so took over the election of Mr. and Miss Demon in hopes of making it a very high honor. Everything must start as a dream, but it took this year ' s Student Council to make this year at GHS a Success.

The most fulfilling event of the year was a visit to a head start school at Christmas . They put on a play and it was hard to tell who had more fun, the kids or the performers. Another exciting event of the year was the State FTA convention in Fort Collins.

Key Club

How can a club possibly exist with a ll boys and no girls. Well, it so happens that Key Club has more than 60 members all of which are boys and they all l i ke i t . Mr. Art Papenfus, sponsor, says that the best way of gett i ng boys, after brainwashi ng, is to give them l ots of activities This year they had a booth at Carnival, a Homecoming float, distributed canned goods at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and had a cam pout at the end of the year. Although i t ' s a blow to girls' egos, its helpi ng to develop t he members i nto leaders and me n.

Hard work is always on the agenda for Key Club members . Here

Queen Of Canzelot Jenny McCarthy

Travel ing back through the ages of time we land on the small is land kingdom "just right for happy ever-aftering, " a place called Camelot. The music and dancing have changed, but the youthful feeling and gaiety will always be the same. Knights with their fair maidens danced to the music of the Brass Menagerie under the reign of Queen J enny McCarthy . In her court were Anne Roberts , Lindy Bullock , and Chris Wagner. The evening at Camelot ended all too soon and the Knights and maidens had to return to their lives of T -shirts and tennies.
