Sew Much Fun (Ages 8 - 12)
Sewing is not as hard as it "seams!" Needle punching is a sewing technique that is often referred to as "painting with thread." Participants will learn the skill of needle punching and will complete a sewing project by the end the program. Oakview Recreation Center Tuesdays, February 1 - March 1, 6 - 7 p.m. Free
Junior Scientists (Ages 8 - 12)
Our fun and educational science program reinforces learning through hands-on experiments. Participants will be challenged in a positive way and enhance problem–solving abilities, creativity and critical thinking skills. Let's Make Some Racquet! Intermediate (Ages 8 - 12)
Tennis builds character, focus and sportsmanship. This program is designed to give young coed participants the intermediate foundational skills of tennis through game play and step-by-step curriculum guided by staff. Participants must have previously completed the Let's Make Some Racquet beginner program. Oakview Recreation Center Thursday, March 10 - June 23, 6 - 7 p.m. $12 per person
Oak Hollow Youth Fishing Derby (Ages 15 & under)
This program incorporates hands-on activities that teach youth up to age 15 about fishing skills. After training, youth can participate in a fishing tournament to hone their newly-learned skills. T-shirts are provided for the first 125 kids. Prizes are drawn throughout the day and trophies are awarded to those catching the biggest fish, the smallest fish and the most fish in three age groups. After School Zones (Ages 8 - 17)
Get in The Zone after school! The daily Homework Zone takes priority, but we also have fun playing video games and basketball and participating in arts and crafts. Southside Recreation Center Mondays - Fridays, now through June 3, 2022, 4 - 6 p.m. Free

Intermediate Level Tennis (Ages 8 - 16)
These players are near the competitive level and are beginning to understand the importance of more serious tennis focus and play. Emphasis on point play will be stressed, as well as proper technique and court movement. Oak Hollow Tennis Center Wednesdays, January 5 - March 9, 4 - 5 p.m. $140 per person, $18 drop-in
High Point United Gaming Club (Ages 12+)
Are you a gamer? Looking to make new friends, play your favorite games together and show why High Point has some of the top gamers around? Then join a community of gaming enthusiasts who play, create and learn new and advanced strategies in some of your favorite games. HP United Gaming Club meets and competes representing High Point Parks & Recreation Esports as the top gamers in the area.
