Book Launch: Paul Kohn "Soul Refractions"

Join us for the launch of poet Paul Kohn’s debut collection, ''Soul Refractions''. Paul’s work is both confronting and uplifting, and he shares his work in the hope that it helps others. This special afternoon will feature readings by Paul and special guests WAbased artist Nesha Turner and poets Skylar J Wynter, Tracey O’Callaghan, Luke Baker and Elijah and Jadon Kohn. The event will also include opportunities for open mic.

Local poet, publisher and teacher Julie Wright will explore the many types of love that live at the core of our human relationships. You will look at what others have written and the devices they have employed to engage the reader’s heart and mind. Join award winning author Katherine Tamiko Arguile in this special workshop exploring memoir writing. Discover your voice and get tips on transforming your personal story into a compelling narrative.

Born and raised in Tokyo, Katherine Tamiko Arguile is a JapaneseBritish-Australian arts journalist and author. She migrated from London to Adelaide in 2008, where she now lives beside the sea. A graduate of Cambridge University, she has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Adelaide. She is the author of the novel ''The Things She Owned'' and ''Meshi: A Personal History of Japanese Food'' which explores memory, family and culture through the prism of Japanese recipes.

Join Neverland author Margot McGovern for a special teen only writing workshop. Margot is a YA and horror author whose debut novel Neverland was published by Penguin Random House in 2018. Her horror fiction has also appeared in Hometown Haunts: #LoveOzYA Horror Tales (Wakefield Press, 2021) and The Dark. She is also a former member of the LoveOzYA committee.
