Are you new to Red Deer and/or your neighbourhood? We want you to know that you belong here. The City of Red Deer’s Great Neighbourhoods Program invites you to journey through this Adventure Guide, developed with the assistance of Arts à la Carte, to experience “4 Adventures in Belonging.” The Great Neighbourhoods Program works to improve neighbourliness and the quality of life at a neighbourhood level by providing opportunities to connect and get involved in your community. Use this fun guide to help you explore your community and become familiar with many of the great things it has to offer. As an added challenge, we encourage you to use Green Transportation such as walking, biking and transit as you discover your community.
Arts, Culture & Heritage Sports & Recreation Local Services Information
Moving into a new place can be exciting, and a little overwhelming... This Adventure Guide has been designed to help you explore the Red Deer community so that you can soon feel at home. Inside these pages, you will find four sets of adventures including arts, culture, heritage, sports, recreation, local services and information. The locations of these facilities and activities are listed at the back of the Guide.
Here is your challenge: Whether you’re in the first year of living in your new home or simply wanting to get to know your community better, try to fill in the blanks under each adventure with the information you find. Once you have completed TWO activities under EACH adventure category, bring your book in and show us what you discovered!
Would you like a prize for your efforts? Take this guide to one of these City facilities to get your “You Belong Here Stamp of Approval” and your name will be entered into a draw for a prize pack: Red Deer Public Library, Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery, Recreation Centre, Collicutt Centre, Culture Services Centre, and GH Dawe Centre. Addresses, phone numbers, and web addresses are listed at the back of this guide. Be sure to keep your Adventure Guide for future reference. It’s full of great information!
