2022 Vallejo Water Quality Public Health Goals Report
Every three years, public water systems with more than 10,000 service connections are required to prepare a report for contaminants that exceed their respective public health goals.
WHAT IS A PUBLIC HEALTH GOAL?
A PHG is the concentration of a contaminant in drinking water that poses no significant health
risk if consumed for a lifetime.

Sideshow particpants arrested
This week Vallejo Police officers were dispatched to a sideshow in the city.
The pictured vehicle was blocking the roadway in order to prevent the sideshow from being disrupted.
When VPD arrived at the scene, the owner of the vehicle and his passenger fled from the scene. After a short pursuit, the vehicle eventually pulled over.
The driver and the passenger were arrested for sideshow activity and sideshow spectator violations. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days which will cost the owner approximately $2,800 to retrieve their vehicle back.

Future Leadership Vallejo Youth Program Graduates its First Cohort
Excitement and smiles could be seen from the stage as students from the Future Leadership Vallejo Youth Program were honored with certificates and stipends on October 13.
The first cohort of the youth program arose as a passion project from members of the Leadership Vallejo Year 14 group. Member Juan Vallejos, who was unable to attend the event, was the originator of the idea, who aimed to create something to provide Vallejo youth the same opportunities that they received in the Leadership Vallejo Program. Additional team members Paul Lamb, Francisco Marin, Jameelah Hanif, and Toni Condit helped to create the program and see it through to completion. The group congratulated the kids for their time and dedication to the program and expressed a plan to continue the program in the future.
“My favorite part about this program was being able to share my experience and talk with other guests. It was really a fascinating experience and
if I could give a tip to anyone wanting to join, it would be to speak your mind.” Said Sonia Valdez, a 13-year-old graduate of the program. Sonia, along with fellow youth graduates, expressed their thanks to the organizers of the program for bringing them together.
Students were exposed to several guest speakers to help them understand the many people, departments, organizations, and businesses that help run the city and make Vallejo great. Guest speakers included people such as local historian and Aide to Congressman Mike Thompson, Mel Orpilla, Vallejo Mayor Robert McConnell, and Vallejo Police Chief Shawny Williams. These speakers also presented to the adult Leadership Vallejo Year 14 class during their program.
The Leadership Vallejo program educates adult participants and trains future business, government, and volunteer leaders. Individuals gain valuable skills and experience to help make positive changes in Vallejo and the world. They are currently in Year 15 for the program and continue to produce projects and graduates that benefit our Vallejo community. You can learn more about Leadership Vallejo at LeadershipVallejo.org
