City Rail Link Project Update
• Wider project is progressing well – practical completion November 2025
• Western Line returns to dual running through Maungawhau Station
• All mined tunnelling is completed
• Station and tunnels fit out phase has begun
• CRL was awarded the highest possible rating for infrastructure sustainability at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC)
Re-Constructing Waitematā (Britomart) Station
Milestones achieved in the last 3 months
• Completed planting to Britomart Place/Scene Lane corner
• Re-established the traffic island to Britomart Place
• Completed paving around the glass box at Britomart Place
• Continued with an excellent standard of safety management and control
• Over 100,000 safe working hours completed over the Britomart projects in the last year
Milestones continued Platform 5 upgrade works
Ballast being removed from Platform 5
Completed new tracks having final clean down for completion
• Completed track improvement works to Platform 5, Waitematā (Britomart) Station
• Commenced track and signalling improvement works for Waitematā (Britomart) tunnel
What’s planned for the next 3 months?
• Form temporary track alignment at Platform 5 for work train access
• Continue track improvement works for the Waitematā (Britomart) tunnel

Appendix 26 & Systems installation
Aruna Mylvaganam
• Smokescreen above escalators to Chief Post Office entrance installed
• Righthand elevator at Chief Post Office entrance returned to the public
• Elevator upgrades at southern end underway – scheduled to be complete in September
• Civil and architectural fit out of basement rooms, including mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulics (MEHF) work complete and handed over to systems team
• Systems now being installed in basement rooms
• Excellent progress on platform raising –scheduled for completion in September
At the western end of the station
• Civil and architectural fit-out substantially complete
• Switchover to permanent power connection 9 July – a milestone we’re really proud of!
• Mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulics (MEFH) installation progressing well –scheduled to complete all testing works by middle September
• Additional systems fit-out being carried out in the Eastern Equipment Rooms in preparation for energisation – expected to take place in Q4
At the eastern end of the station
Inside the tunnels between Waitematā and Te Waihorotiu stations
• Overhead line installed in both tunnels
• Cable trays installed in both tunnels
• Systems – including signalling and electrical – fit-out underway including signalling, traction power, communication, lighting and power
• Concrete pours alongside rail tracks inside MC20 underway
• In August we’ll begin bringing in railway track via Zephr to Platform 1 to start fitting out MC20 & remaining part of MC30
• From September to late-2023 we’ll continue cable pulling including for low voltage & communications cables
