EDITORIAL EDITORIAL
Broward County, you have something to be proud of this month. You’ve kept a bilingual monthly publication name the publication here going for 6 years. In April 2008, the first issue was first published in the CIUDAD DORAL NEWSPAPER office. We’ve been publishing continuously ever since, changing its design, layout and logo for better marketing. But there is still one issue to be solved: CIUDAD is a very difficult word to be understood by Americans. One day, after 3 hours of meeting to find out a better way of showing the word CIUDAD, we decided to leave it as it is. In fact, it is the real name of our publications. As a bilingual publication, we have been writing in Spanish and English in order to promote a better understanding within all the 8 cultures present in Weston and CIUDAD is part of that melting pot. It means CITY, the amazing city of Weston!!
Since 2008, CIUDAD WESTON NEWSPAPER has been part of the Media Communications LLC family of magazines (Ciudad Doral and Ciudad Kendall). For those of us entrusted with CIUDAD WESTON NEWSPAPER now, the challenges - the opportunities, really - include extending our reach into digital editions for iPad, the web and the social media. I think one of the hardest parts of this new world is retaining that reflective, introspective quality that people look for from monthly publications. Don’t you think so? Happy Birthday, CIUDAD WESTON NEWSPAPER. And to all of you who read us and who have advertised with us over the years, thank you for making this birthday possible.
