Editorial After six months of consideration, talks and market analysis for multicultural targets, we were able to find what had taken so much effort: positioning for our business. It has not been easy to grasp the communicational strategy as it pertains to a multicultural market such as the one we service in the cities of Weston, Davie, Pembroke Pines and Miramar where a high percentage of the community is not American and 12 different nationalities co-exist.

That was one of our challenges this year and we are very proud to have achieved it!!

That is why our new logo opens new roads full of innovation and aiming to create a higher impact. Our clients will be happy to share in this transition. New things are coming to the Newspaper leaning to satisfy the needs and demands of our clients.

We could not make it without the support of our readers, associates and advertisers whose trust and understanding compel us to improve ourselves everyday. Although a monthly Newspaper, our content is as dynamic as our sales strategies. We are on the threshold of a new era and closing out the old one as well as posed for a celebration of our 6th year in circulation with all of our advertisers.

The Month of Hispanic Heritage. We also celebrate it here at CIUDAD WESTON NEWSPAPER because the members of our team are from different countries, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and USA. Our heritage, filled with creativity, ingenuity and spontaneity adds an immeasurable value to our Newspaper and our community.

However, this is not enough, we have to work consistenly with our consultants to successfully integrate ourselves into the American system. Our view of integration will not take place if we fail to understand the idiosyncrasies on both sides. That explains how hard it is to maintain a Bilingual Media such as ours making our challenge a permanent one.

The added value that we have as a multicultural paper translates into enrichment and evolution. In a community where so many cultures cross with the American culture, there exists a great potential for business. For the Media it is not only interesting but also a challenge we must face everyday.

The letters and comments to the Editor have become one more reason. Your encouragement makes us work harder to put out the most important vehicle of local information and improve our Newspaper everyday. We are very proud for the results we have achieved.

We are very excited about the changes that have taken place and those that are about to happen. For the production, sales and marketing teams there is always something new to explore. It is not easy to put together any print media nowadays, intent on new structures and lines to enhance the exposure of local clients. Después de 6 meses de estudio, conversaciones y análisis de mercado para target multicultural, pudimos encontrar lo que nos había ocupado todo nuestro esfuerzo: Posicionamiento para nuestros negocios. No ha sido fácil entender la estrategia comunicacional cuando se trata de un mercado multicultural como es el que atendemos hoy en día, donde las ciudades de Weston, Davie, Pembroke Pines y Miramar tienen un alto margen de comunidad No-Americana, donde se juntan más de 12 nacionalidades.

Por eso nuestro logo nos abre nuevos caminos, llenos de innovación para lograr un mayor impacto. Nuestros clientes estarán muy contentos de formar parte de esta transición. English NEWS ranges offer training classes for those who qualify.

Recently we have seen many cases of fatal incidents in which firearms have been used. Gun laws in Florida regulate the sale, possession, and use of firearms ammunition in the state of Florida, also in all United States. “Unless you have a Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) carrying a concealed firearm other than on your own property or the property of your business is a third degree felony in Florida punishable by up to five years imprisonment. According to (Florida Statute 790.01)” Our newspaper is concerned about these incidents of interest to our community; we went to the office of the police department in Weston to make sure that our community is really safe. Captain Kevin Butler is the leader of this Department and he gave us a tour through the office facilities.

Captain Butler began his law enforcement career in 1980 with the City of Pompano Beach and worked various road patrol assignments.

In 1985, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit as a detective. In 2006 he received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2011, he was selected to serve the City of Weston. He conceded to our interview: CWN: We published an article written by Angel Gomez in past editions about a state law passed

by Governor Rick Scott stating that cities and counties cannot create laws that restrict use of firearms; only the state can do that. Can you comment on that?

KB: That is true. During the past year there was a new law, a state law stating that cities and counties cannot create laws that restrict the use or possession of firearms. Only the state can do that. For example in the city of Weston, we had an ordinance that said you could not bring guns to parks. However there was no punishment if you violated that law.

What happens now is the punishment has been implemented and the law is being enforced.

Now the city of Weston does not allow bringing guns to a park or a school. If the city created an ordinance preventing the use of guns, it would be in violation of that state law. Only the State statute rules over laws concerning guns and weapons. We lost the control to legislate over to the state.

CWN: If someone is carrying a gun without a permit. Are there any consequences? KB: If a person is carrying a concealed firearm and they don’t have a CCF License, they can be arrested under the state law. However he cannot be arrested under any city violation. Now if he is carrying the gun in a threatening manner, we can arrest him. That is why if you see someone carrying a gun. What do you do? You call the police.

CWN: Are there any training courses provided by the Weston Police Dept.? KB: Weston does not provide training for CCF (Carry Concealed Firearms) license; only gun shops or shooting

CWN: What are the requirements for a CCF license? KB: You go through an extensive background check. You need to have a clean background, no indictments, no drug problems, no history of alcoholism, no domestic violence, and no offenses. Some other qualifications are that you get some of type training, weapon training classes.

CWN: Are gun stores in contact with the police department? KB: Gun stores are not always in contact with the police department but the forms that are filled out when you go to purchase a gun are shared with the police department.

It should be noted when we asked Capt. Butler about the Shooting Range at Markham Park in reference to certain topics, he said that BSO Weston District do not have anything to do with it.

CWN: What is the difference between Florida state gun laws and other states gun laws? KB: Most states are mostly the same. In New York the gun laws are stricter; you cannot carry a gun, period. Florida is about the same as the other states in regards to restrictive gun laws CWN: Can a person carrying a gun with a CCF license use it to defend themselves without consequences?

KB: A person can defend themselves under that threat of fear or harm and it is not a crime. If he discharges the weapon in self-defense, he would not be arrested. There are some limitations however. For example, if I am in a parking lot and someone takes my place, I have no right to use deadly force.

That would be a crime. But if a guy comes to you and ask you for your money with a knife in his hand, and you defend yourself, that is not a crime. That is perfectly legal.

As you know, you cannot bring a gun to bars, schools, polling places, government meetings and such.

After seeing the tragedy of what happened in Connecticut. It’s such a travesty, that we are still waiting for new legislation. I think we need it. What is more horrible than killing babies?

CWN: In regards to school safety. There are some parents at soccer games at the schools who are a little concerned about safety. We have the Cypress Bay High School with almost 5,000 students. Are there any safety issues that you have observed in the past years?

KB: It’s one of the biggest high schools in the country. For such a big school we don’t really have a problem. We made one or two arrests but not for guns, just like a typical high school. We have one deputy there all the time. I have met a lot of students there.

I am impressed about the students there. A lot of them are great students. They want to do the right thing. They want to achieve their goals and be productive. We know there are good kids and bad kids. I am very blessed being here in Weston.

According to City Commissioner Angel Gomez “The ability to obtain a gun permit and the responsibilities that come with it should only be given to mature and capable citizens. Keeping the 21 year of age requirement for holding a gun permit is more in alignment with this belief. As with

Is Our Community Safe?

Changing the topic there is something that involves community safety. Recently we saw a video in the local news that shows a woman stealing wallets from ladies’ purses at Publix supermarket here in Weston.

CWN: What can you say about this incident?

KB: We put the video out because it was a very good picture of the woman doing that. We like to put that out to the public, so everybody in the community is aware of this kind of situation.

I don’t think she is from here for different reasons, because of the way she committed the crime. So I said let’s put that out to the Weston community. I wanted the people in Weston to see what happens when you are shopping and leave your car unattended. When you are shopping, your basket and your purse must be close to you or in front of you. Always in front of

you, never behind you. If you leave them behind you bad things are going to happen. The person you saw in the video was being recorded.

“Ciudad Weston Newspaper shared this video on the social network with some organizations like Viviendo en Weston, Weston Relay for Life, Venezolanos viviendo en Weston and other groups from our community” CWN: Can you tell us if she was already identified? KB: Yes, she has already been identified and she arrested. Her name is Janet Cooper from Hollywood.

CWN: Is this person from the Weston area?

KB: No, but she comes here. People in this community think because this is Weston bad things won’t happen and that is not true. We have people who come to Weston to commit crimes.

We have residential burglaries committed by burglars who come from other locations.

We recently made an arrest in Savannah.

A Spanish person, his mother is Spanish.

He was committing burglaries. Not a lot but once a month, he was living with his mom in Savannah. But because I spoke with him we know how he did it.

Last year we had 88 residential burglaries, this year we have had only 40 up until August; that is like 50% less. It is considerably lower than last year. This year it dropped to 22% in residential burglaries. Everything is still down except for auto theft. Last year we had 13 and now we have 17. A lot of auto thefts are because some relative took the car. I don’t say all of them are like that but it happens.

The Weston District has contact with all other cities around, like South West Ranches, Davie and we know what is happening around.

The Department is committed to educating over 1,000 people and creating awareness campaigns to keep the community in alert “2013 has 22% less crime than 2012.

Home and Residential Burglaries was down in Weston by 50%” “Weston is a safe community. However, residents really need to be aware and look around. If someone sees something or a suspicious person doing something wrong, please call 911. I want the community of Weston to be safe but they need to pay attention to things like leaving your purse behind. I would tell the people to be safe but also to be smart”. Captain Butler said.

Also Angel Gomez, the City Commissioner said “This incident at Publix is a clear sign of how important it is that regardless how safe we are in our own City, we must keep alert, we must be cautious, most importantly - we must not fall victims of a fall sense of security.”

Español NOTICIAS Recientemente hemos visto muchos casos de incidentes fatales en los que se han utilizado armas de fuego. Lo que ocurre ahora es que el castigo se está aplicando y la ley se ha implementado. Ahora la ciudad de Weston no permite llevar armas de fuego a un parque o una escuela. Si la ciudad creara una ordenanza para prevenir el uso de armas de fuego, sería una violación a esa ley estatal. Sólo las normas estatutarias del Estado sobre las leyes relativas a armas de fuego y armas podrían regular. Hemos perdido el control de legislar sobre el estado.

CWN: Si alguien lleva un arma de fuego sin permiso. ¿Hay alguna consecuencia? KB: Si una persona lleva un arma de fuego oculta y no tiene una licencia de CCF, podría ser detenida bajo la ley estatal. Si él descarga el arma en defensa propia, no sería detenido. Sin embargo hay algunas limitaciones. Por ejemplo, si estoy en un estacionamiento y alguien toma el lugar, yo no tengo derecho a usar la fuerza mortal. Eso sería un crimen. Pero si un chico se te acerca y te pide tu dinero con un cuchillo en la mano, entonces si puedes defenderte, y no es un crimen. Eso es perfectamente legal. Como usted sabe, usted no puede traer un arma a bares, colegios, centros de votación ni reuniones gubernamentales.

Después de ver la tragedia que ocurrió en Connecticut. Es como una farsa, que todavía estamos a la espera de una nueva legislación.

Creo que lo necesitamos. Que es más horrible que matar niños?

CWN: En lo que respecta a la seguridad escolar.

correcto. Ellos quieren lograr sus objetivos y ser productivos. Sabemos que hay niños buenos y malos niños. ¡Me siento bendecido de estar aquí en Weston!

Según el Comisionado de la Ciudad, Ángel Gómez nos dijo al respecto “La capacidad de obtener un permiso de armas y de las responsabilidades que vienen con él sólo se debe dársele a los ciudadanos maduros y capaces. Manteniendo la edad requerida de 21 años para sostener un permiso de armas, es lo más consistente con este principio. Al igual que con muchos otros posibles cambios en la ley, la Ciudad esta supervisando este asunto, y lo que se desarrolle en el futuro.”

Cambiando de tema, hay algo que involucra la seguridad en nuestra comunidad.

Recientemente hemos visto un video en las noticias locales que muestra a una mujer robando billeteras de las carteras de las señoras en el supermercado Publix aquí en Weston.

CWN: ¿Qué puede decir acerca de este incidente?

KB: Pusimos este vídeo, ya que era una muy buena imagen de la mujer que hizo esto. Nos gusta ir a la opinión pública, para que todos en la comunidad estén conscientes de este tipo de situación.

No creo que ella sea de aquí por diferentes razones, debido a la forma en que cometió

el crimen. Así que dije vamos a publicarlo en la comunidad de Weston. Quería que las personas en Weston puedan ver lo que sucede cuando está haciendo compras y deja el carro de compras sin vigilar.

Cuando usted esté haciendo compras, su carro de compras y su cartera deben estar cerca y en frente de usted, nunca detrás de usted. Si los dejas atrás va a suceder lo malo.

CWN: ¿Es esta persona de la zona de Weston?

KB: No, es de Hollywood, pero ella viene aquí.

La gente en esta comunidad piensa que porque es Weston, no pasa nada malo y no es cierto.

Tenemos personas que vienen a Weston para cometer delitos. Tenemos robos residenciales cometidos por ladrones que vienen de otros lugares. Sin embargo, hemos hecho un arresto en Savannah de una persona hispana, su madre es hispana. Él estaba cometiendo robos.

No mucho, pero era una vez al mes, vivía con su madre en Savannah. Pero porque yo hablé con él sabemos cómo lo hizo.

El año pasado hubo 88 robos residenciales, este año tenemos sólo 40 hasta Agosto es como el 50 % menos. Es considerablemente más bajo que el año pasado. Este año se redujo a 22 % en los robos residenciales. Todo ha bajado excepto por los robos de autos. El año pasado fueron 13 y ahora tenemos 17. Gloria Chermak

Born in New York, she attended City College of New York where she served as the President of Student Council and Vice Chancellor of Sigma Alpha, the Honor Society.

She was listed in the Who´s Who among Students in American Universities. At CCNY she met Murray Chermak, and they were married

A good woman passed away To speak of Gloria Chermak is to speak of a person who was quietly efficient in any volunteer job she was asked to take-on. A special Mother, grandmother and a devoted wife to Murray. She will be missed by all who knew her – Renee Smoley, Weston.

On behalf of the members of the Weston Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW), I express our appreciation and gratitude for Gloria Chermak’s service to the branch as its Director of Finance. three days before graduation. After having two sons, Murray, a CPA, and Gloria returned to college to obtain degrees in education and become educators. Teaching allowed the Chermaks to spend summers in camp. They returned to Camp Tioga in Pennsylvania where they have been counselors while in college, and eventually bought the camp and were owners/directors for 10 years. Gloria was the first women president of the Wayne County Campers Association.

After moving to Florida in 1978, Gloria helped organize and was the first president of the Bonaventure Gardens Club. She joined the Bonaventure Chapter of the Women´s League for Israel (WLI) and later became the president of the chapter and served as the president of the Florida region of WLI for 9 years. In the past few years, Gloria was Treasurer of the American Association o University Women ( AAUW).

She is survived by her beloved husband of 86 years, Murray Chermak, former Weston City Commissioner, two sons Dr. Jerome Chermak of Coral Springs and Dr. Richard Chermak of Weston, daughters in-law Sheila Chermak and Shelley Chermak and grandchildren Douglas, David, Alanna, and PJ Chermak.

Educate the Community about healthcare reform begins with knowing what it is and how the process will work with the famous “Affordable Care Act” (ACA), which is now called “Federally-Facilitated Marketplace” (FFM) and knowing what this new law requires the community meets, to achieve affordability and a significant improvement as far as health benefits are concerned.

ACA requires all people have a “Minimum Essential Coverage” for themselves and their dependents. This “Minimum Essential Coverage” is the kind of health care coverage that individuals

How Educate the Community about the Health Care Reform

The main steps to be eligible for “Marketplace” (FFM) and apply to an individual health insurance are: Apply and submit all the necessary information, FFM verifies the information and determines whether that person qualifies or not, and according to that, the individual completes the comparison process, selection and registration with the insurance company, helped by a FFM certificate insurance agent or broker.

The initial open enrollment this first year, started from October 2013 to March 2014, to be effective in January 2014 to April 2014. The following years the annual open enrollment will be only from October to December. All plans are required to provide preventive care at no cost.

In reference to the extra charges we face today, from January 2014, insurers cannot extra charge an individual for pre-existences diseases. Nor may increase premiums when renewing current customers for engaging in claims or have deteriorated his health condition during the policy year.

Under the Affordable Care Act, premiums can only vary based on the following factors: age, family composition, geographic area, and tobacco use. Premiums cannot vary by age for enrollees under the age of 21 or over 64 years. Older enrollees cannot be charged more than 3 times the amount that younger enrollees are charged.

Tobacco users cannot be charged more than 1.5 times the rate of non-users. From January 2014, all insurance companies must eliminate annual dollar limits on EHB, and must cap annual out- ofpocket spending for individual market plans.

For a person to be eligible for the FFM must live in the US, be a citizen or permanent resident, not be incarcerated, other than incarceration pending the disposition of charges.

Las primas no podrán varias para asegurados menores de 21 años ni mayores de 64 años. Las personas mayores solamente podrán ser cargadas tres veces el monto de lo que una persona joven. Y los fumadores no podrán ser cargados más de 1.5 veces de la tarifa para una persona que no fume. A partir del 2014

Los siguientes años este periodo será solo de Octubre a Diciembre. Fuera de ese periodo, solamente podrán comprar seguro de salud individual aquellas personas que incurran en eventos especiales como nacimiento de un bebe, matrimonio o divorcio, finalización de un contrato de trabajo, etc. El resto de las personas tiene que registrarse y comprar un plan de salud individual (califiquen o no para ayuda federal) dentro del periodo indicado anteriormente, de lo contrario, tendrán que pagar una multa al momento de presentar su declaración de impuestos del año 2015.

Lamentablemente, hemos estado escuchando denuncias que personas oportunistas están ofreciendo planes, pidiendo adelantos de dinero, tomando aplicaciones, etc. NO se deje engañar, busque a su corredor de seguros de confianza o consiga uno que lleve años en el mercado y sepa lo que está haciendo para que le pueda asesorar adecuadamente. Hasta el día de hoy, no se han liberado ni los planes definitivos ni los precios. No se deje engañar, ni se comprometa con nadie.

Although it is hard to believe but eating while working, talking on the phone or watching TV, is one of the leading causes of digestive diseases, stress and obesity. How you eat and where you eat, defines how you “digest” your world, your community, your friends and your life style in general.

Have you ever asked yourself who is right in the right way to eat?

Did you know that in India people eat without cutlery? There, you simply must eat with your hands. According to the Ayurveda tradition ( traditional medicines of India), this makes a lot of sense. I will explain why.

If you haven’t noticed, by eating with your hands our tongue comes directly into contact with food using our own skin as the intermediary.

One thing at a time.

Eating with your hands means you cannot read, check your e-mail or answer the phone.

Could it be the Asians who use sticks? Or the Indians who use their hands? More than a question of which makes more sense, I think it’s important to know who is healthier and who has better digestive systems.

By using the cold metal of a fork, our tongue is bypassed and food is sent straight to the throat, sometimes avoiding the taste buds.

This is the second year in a row and all personnel involved with this new cycle were there; Mr. Frank Zagari, Principal of the school, Pete Muniz, assistant principal, Lauree Rich-Levinson, of the school Board, Wanda Robinson, youth mentoring program school board and the president of Latin women promoting Latin Women and her collaborators and last but not least the mentors.

Ana Valladares, President of Latin Women promoting Latin Women was in charge of the presentation and addressed all present with a word of hope that this year will be better than last year. Information material was handed out and all mentors were encouraged to establish goals and set a purpose to all participating girls.

There was talked about improvements to the organization and a topic is to be selected on a weekly basis. Goal setting is one of the biggest targets for the mentors. 100% of all successful people write down their short and long term goals. One of the golden rules for any mentor is to have that girl graduate from High School.

That is one of the missions as mentors.

A mentor is not a parent or a professor. It is not one who reprimands or complains about the behavior or bad record of a student but someone who can become a great friend.

Someone who guides the students to achieve the goals set by the school.

Many girls are Bilingual, others possibly just arrived here from their home country but they are all ESOL girls and English is not their native tongue. As mentors, we must help these girls become successful in life and keep them from being excluded for lack of language skills. You should access the information in the school and anywhere else you can find it. The school portal is accessible to students and parents as well.

A good consideration as to whether or not tutoring maybe good for your child is to consider the following idea: If your child is stuck, if your child has exhausted the school’s resources, then tutoring may be a good option. A tutor needs to first build trust with your child. To the student, the tutor is neither a parent nor a teacher. Tutors need to be advocates who listen to the student.

Parents need to provide information and feedback to the tutor, which is just as important as parent expectations. Benefits of tutoring include working in an informal atmosphere. Tutors can create a comfortable and secure environment for students.

Tutors should be able to identify learning problems of students. Tutors can utilize different instructional

Maybe it will take one minute or ten, one hour or one day but it is a fact that at some point, you will become aware that you entered a world where nobody wants to be. Not the one with uncommitted singles or divorcés, no, it is one that is one thousand times worse. It is the world with the ones left behind (married, divorced or singles) but not available. It is a surreal place where he will not call on Friday night for a date or worse, one where he will not come home to sleep but neither will anyone else because he “might”. Now, why does this happen? Why does a man want to leave his partner but not in a permanent way? It is hard to answer since this relationship strategy ( to give it a name) is used for several purposes. For example, when women are always fighting or are very jealous, men take this position to neutralize the “beast”. She calms down, becomes a little lamb and they reconcile. Another possibility could be that the man is seeing someone new, is not sure about ending his current relationship and can’t muster the strength to end it permanently. There could also be a decline in the relationship and the man thinks that a temporary break can rekindle the old flame.

There are many reasons that drive a person to ask for a pause in the relation. I will be analyzing the most common elements in the next article (Part II). I will also give some advice to handle the situation the best possible way.

Porque lo menos sano era caerle a golpes y cachetadas a ese malagradecido, pero créeme que tu autoestima lo lamentaría para siempre. Las reacciones son parte del azar, nadie está preparado para algo así, pero como a nadie le falta Dios, él nos hizo con la capacidad de entrar en shock para protegernos de estas eventualidades. Es probable que en ese momento tu reacción fuera tan serena como la de una autómata al decir: “si, es verdad, quizás es lo mejor”. Y luego de intercambiar unas frases de esperanza como, “cuando yo me aclare, todo va a estar bien”, o “nuestra relación necesita tomar aire”, Precisamente en esa profunda inhalación que toma ese hombre, se despide con un “te amo” y exhala aliviado mientras das la media vuelta para irte serena. Otra opción es porque el hombre tiene a otra persona y no está seguro de terminar con su pareja, y tampoco tiene la valentía para hacerlo definitivamente. También puede ser que realmente haya un desgaste de la relación y el hombre piense que la separación temporal puede reavivar la llama que se extinguió.

Son muchos los factores que llevan a una persona a pedir tiempo. En la próxima edición voy a estar analizando los factores más comunes (Parte II). También voy a dar algunos consejos para poder manejar esta situación de la mejor forma posible.

It is like a punch in the face that sends you right to the floor unexpectedly. While still on the floor, you try to massage your jaw while you figure out what happened. Then, you get up, wait until the pain goes away… and the jaw pain does subside sooner or later.

From then on, it depends entirely on the individual parent. At the beginning, one embarks in a

medical centers. But there is more, much more and it was different. It was a mindset — one that makes it easier to face the enormous challenges with a belief that you can make it. You realize that every day you can add another piece to the puzzle until you complete the image. That is what Weston did for us. It was not only a beautiful place, with great hospitals and extraordinary people, but it was the general conviction that for an autistic child, a better future is possible.

When we returned to Naples, it became obvious that the experience in Florida needed to be shared. In October 2004, AUTISM AID ONLUS, a nonprofit organization for the benefit of parents and children with autism was founded. Its mission was to disseminate and affirm one on one the wealth of knowledge and values of full integration and equal opportunities for autistic people that we acquired in the USA. However, there isn’t a specialist sufficiently talented to do so, or at least one that will change this life sentence — one that will dismiss the others who may not have understood that our child is a different case, and that a cure is on hand. At this point, I did not know whether to keep the illusion of a cure or take hold of the new reality and reorganize life using different parameters.

I am absolutely certain that there are no perfect parents and of course, including us. But in the last few years, We (my wife and I) have developed a fair number of skills and capabilities that have helped us understand the behavior of those members of the same club: Parents of Autistic Children. We never really applied to this club — it was nature that registered us. But we are united through our desperate resolve to strike back regardless of what part of the world we live in.

This is our story - In March 2003, the expert on hand proclaims: “We have a problem.” The solution, according to this expert, is to use the resources available in Naples (Italy). My response was: Go to Weston Fl. within two months.

It is now ten years later and still sometimes I think it was a moment of folly that made us decide to put our existence on wings and fly overseas and I can assure you, that it was that step that changed how we would coped with autism radically. From that decision onward, we no longer faced a dead end street but rather, an extraordinary opportunity to build a better future.

I remember it as if it was yesterday. The places, the faces and moments during several encounters at that time. But I cannot pinpoint what made the difference specifically. It was surely the expertise of the doctors, the professionalism of the therapists, and the efficient organization of the

Era un modo de pensar - que hace que sea más fácil para hacerle frente a los enormes desafíos con la creencia de que sí se puede hacer. Te das cuenta de que cada día se puede añadir otra pieza al rompecabezas hasta que se complete la imagen. Eso es lo que Weston hizo por nosotros. No sólo era un lugar hermoso, con grandes hospitales y personas extraordinarias,

local y transformado en un centro de actividad múltiple utilizado en parte por los niños autistas.

Muchas veces nos preguntamos sobre todos estos acontecimientos del pasado. Pero entonces pienso en mis días en Weston y cómo se ha convertido, con el tiempo, en una caricia para mi hijo y para muchos otros niños.

En el primer semestre de 2013 , ONLUS tenía 140 padres que participan en cursos de formación. Seis escuelas locales fueron incorporadas en nuestros programas escolares, y 20 niños participaron en el campamento de verano bajo el cuidado y supervisión de 15 consejeros calificados.
