“Inspired By Arctic Beauty“
the success story.
Sincethe 1950s, “Designed in Denmark“ has conquered the world with its distinctive features: simple forms, minimalism, functionality and unique value for money.
The Danish line has inspired creatives in design, architecture and art worldwide. The founders of the Danish design style include greats such as Arne Jacobsen and Verner Panton.
Since 2010 within the Danish “façon de faire”, BERING Time ApS has been producing unique watch and jewellery collections while establishing its very own design concept.
The breathtaking nature of the Arctic is the brand’s inspiration, motto and abundant source of new design ideas.
“Contributing to the protection of this unique landscape and its habitats is very close to our hearts and part of the brand’s DNA and continues to inspire us” Michael Witt Johansen, founder and CEO, BERING Time ApS.
“Bering meets the highest standards of quality and aesthetics, combined with unbeatable prices. For our customers, this means that every single collection impresses with its puristic elegance, straightforward, clear forms and first-class materials, which time will not leave a trace.” Robert Bixenspanner, CEO, Embix Watch Importing Co.
For some collection, BERING collaborates internationally with acclaimed creative icons such as Max René and the KiBiSi collective headed by the star architect Bjarke Ingels to result in a collection of watches that are both elegant, functional and timeless with a style that’s uniquely their own.
This year the brand capsuled every benchmark to create its “time to care” charity collection, special edition watches for the protection of polar bears. This collection projects Shimmering in cool blue, like the Arctic glaciers, the two charity watches from Bering’s Time to care collection are now available for our retail partners.
For each model sold, the brand will donate $15 to the charity to PBI, Polar Bears International. The clear design and ultra-flat housing made of robust, shiny stainless steel make the models timeless, and durable, within the brand’s design DNA to reflect the eco-responsibility that BERING has undertaken.
The collection is very unique as the watch and wristband in this special edition are seamlessly and firmly connected, without edges, making the watch very elegant. This cool, sleek look retains its Arctic inspiration and Bering creative tradition. With its dazzling sunray dial and gold-tone hands, model one evokes the play of sunlight on ice. A special highlight is the addition of a real diamond. The second model, also in cool tone-on-tone blue, features an unusual wave
pattern. The smooth Milanese wristbands are harmoniously colour-coordinated and comfortable to wear. Both watches are perfectly protected from wind, weather, and scratches thanks to their crystal clear sapphire crystal.
Time to care collection is not the only eco-responsibility collection that Bering has undertaken, in a matter of fact the true Arctic environment is even deeper engraved into the Ocean Pebble collection. The fascination with the deepest, coolest blue of the Arctic Ocean is highlighted in the new, ultra-flat women‘s watch with a mother-of-pearl dial, which thanks to its natural pattern makes each piece unique. Sparkling zirconia stones set into the dial underscore its elegant appearance.
“Year after year we are impressed with the brand’s ability to keep its design pedigree and test its acceptance before launching a new collection.” Bering’s head office also pays attention to our needs and respectfully appreciates our own expertise of the Canadian Jewellery market and how Canadian shoppers have a unique fashion flare.” Raphael Bixenspanner, EVP of sales & marketing, Embix Watch Importing Co.
Indeed, since 2017 Embix Watch Importing Co has exclusively been the Canadian distributor and the voice of Canadian jewellers to the BERING. Since its distributorship Embix Watch Importing Co not only increases the brand’s market share but also streamlines a dedicated repair assembly within its Montreal repair center so that every retail partner is at peace with the quality and speed when a BERING watch is being sent for service or repair. Embix Watch Importing Co constantly maintains a large number of parts not only for Bering but for every brand they carry.
Embix Watch Importing Co, understands that having an excellent product is only part of the battle. “If you want to play in this game, you have to be prepared to constantly reinvent the way you do business and how you bring consumers to your retail partners”
Joel Bixenspanner, VP Marketing. What we are looking for in our retail partners is their openness to let us help them with their digital marketing obligations. Joel is a strong believer that it is not about just having the right product in their showcases but despite the little or lack of digital resources a partner may have, Embix Watch Importing Co’s partner
programs are in place to elevate the jeweller’s business. “ their success is our success” Robert Bixenspanner.
BERING is certainly an excellent brand for new partners to experience our digital suite, from our 24/7 online ordering desk, repairs and services dedicated BERING specialist, to social media, content management and PPC free marketing suite.
“When new retailers inquirie about BERING, we don’t just ship every collection, we go through the process to understand the Jeweller’s vision, the client based, where his consumer flow is missing, what other products that are in their store, how they are marketing their store so that I can present the right product mix.” Ushie Braceiner VP Purchasing and procurement.
A BERING dealer’s success is measured by the number of repeat sales and the new consumers walking into the partners’ doors asking for BERING.
“We too had to learn and adapt to this new marketingagesowecanhaveallthetoolsthat our partners can benefit “ Robert Bixenspanner.

reveals Luna Magna Ultimate II at Geneva Watch days event
HIGH JEWELRY MOONPHASE TIMEPIECE
FEATURES LAGOON-BLUE PARAIBA TOURMALINE AND DIAMOND MOON
A PRECIOUS LAGOON
A fine, atoll-like ring surrounds Luna Magna Ultimate II. It is formed of 112 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 5.90 ct. They overhang the flat surface of the bezel, appearing as if simply placed upon it, floating over its edge, allowing light to pass through them like an open prism. This is known as an “invisible” setting, generating unique sparkle. The rarity of its material makes the dial just as exceptional. Its glittering appearance is due to millions of pure ruthenium crystals.
This extremely hard metal is found in platinum mines, as they are present in the same ore. However, ruthenium is much rarer than platinum. For Luna Magna Ultimate II, the ruthenium was reformed into crystals and dyed using complex processes, before being deposited onto a dial plate. The result, now found regularly on Arnold & Son’s timepieces, is unique in the watchmaking world.
A TOURMALINE NIGHT
A traditional dial is located at 12 o’clock, marked with 12 signature Arnold & Son Roman numerals. This off-center subdial owes its pristine, slight milky white hue to opal. Its classic design harks back to the aesthetics of the famous marine chronometers made by English watchmaker John Arnold. Under the time display, Luna Magna’s three-dimensional moon takes on a new appearance. The white gold globe is entirely pavé-set. It is split into 161 brilliant-cut diamonds, representing the illuminated side of the moon, and the same number of Paraíba tourmalines for the portion in shadow.
MECHANICAL EXCELLENCE
Luna Magna Ultimate II is driven by the A&S1021 calibre, which has been fully developed, manufactured, assembled, and adjusted in the Manufacture. This hand-wound calibre, which has been designed with the lunar globe in mind, features a 90-hour power reserve and a regulating organ oscillating at a frequency of 3 Hz. The movement offers a secondary display on the case-back side presenting the phase of the moon. Its clearly readable markings are designed for high-precision adjustments.
The sophisticated celestial mechanics are also based on precise astronomical reality. The duration of a complete lunar cycle is 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.8 seconds, and Arnold & Son has managed to replicate it in such a way that it will take 122 years for the movement’s display to deviate from the correct celestial reading by one day. The correction required at this time will be easy to make, as the Luna Magna’s moon-phase function is directly accessible from the crown. This practical feature has been made possible by Arnold & Son’s total command of the watchmaking process.

‘MIDNIGHT IN THE PERSIAN GARDEN’ RDAZAEI
The new Swedish luxury womenswear brand presented its first couture runway show, ‘Midnight in the Persian Garden’, in the Salle des Textiles of Paris’ Musée des Arts et Métiers.
As earthly manifestations of an imaginary paradise, where architecture and horticulture were brought together into meticulous perfection, the Persian garden was the point of inspiration for ArdAzAei’s debut couture collection.
A poetic ode to the transcendent beauty of nature, ‘Midnight in the Persian Garden’ honours the incredibly complex systems of engineering required to create such sublime spaces through couture’s intricate techniques of smocking, pleating, embroidery, and appliqué.
An evening wear collection of red-carpet gowns and cocktail dresses, tailoring, jewellery and accessories, the collection sees a recurring reference to the Persian Rose and the Parrot Tulip, with the flowers informing silhouettes, three-dimensional sculptural forms, and elaborately embroidered jacquard.
Sharp tailoring in the form of contemporary women’s suits see sleek jackets and flared pants with hypnotic floral patterning evoking the undulating chaos of nature’s rhythms.
Another key theme running throughout the collection is the dynamic between mathematic forms of composition – a key element of Persian garden architecture – and the craft of the handmade, evident in crystal sequins custom-cut to the lines of the ArdAzAei logo, designed by M/M (Paris), which are then hand-embroidered to create organic forms.
AEI
The dynamic is also evident in an evening dress which sees 60 metres of fabric pleated and cut into geometric shapes appliqued to its top, while 100 hand-painted pleated fans go into the construction of its flared skirt.
In order to realize such intricate forms of construction, the collection is made in France in collaboration with highly skilled couture artisans focused on upholding the highest craftsmanship and material standards. The show venue, the ‘Salle des Textiles’ at the Musée des Arts et Métiers, pays homage to the country’s rare artisanal expertise.
“I have been searching for the long-lasting beauty and respect for nature that you’ll find in the Persian garden, some of which date back to as early as 4,000 BC,” says Bahareh Ardakani, ArdAzAei’s founder and creative director.
“This is reflected in our endeavours to certify part of our collection to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and why this collection is made in France with the country’s leading couture artisans. Every detail is precious, and we want to express the feeling of walking through a Persian garden at midnight to the smallest of details.”
ARDAZAEI COUTURE AND THE GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD
ArdAzAei focuses on working with textile suppliers that can reveal the details of the origins and processes behind its products, tracing each fabric right through the supply chain of raw materials, yarn spinners, weavers, and print and dying techniques.
Transparency also relates to how the company operates. As such, ArdAzAei received the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) Certificate in 2022. GOTS is the leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, which assesses a number of ecological and social-ethical criteria of the entire textile supply chain, covering not just the fabric used, but the entire end-product. ArdAzAei is proud to announce that two of the couture collection’s silk gowns are certified organic through GOTS.

TURN OLD INTO NEW
Itgoes without saying that refining gold these days are in higher demand and has some tremendous benefits where Canadian Jewellers can find themselves with new money while lowering their boroughing thirst and fighting higher interest rates.
Let’s explore the principle mechanism other than interest rate that is to every jeweller’s benefits, the buying franciness of central banks.
WHY DO CENTRAL BANKS BUY GOLD?
In 2010, global central banks turned from net sellers to net buyers of gold, collecting over 35,000 tonnes of gold.
Central banks perform many key functions, including setting interest rates, regulating monetary policy, and controlling the printing and circulation of coins and banknotes.
Their most important task, however, is to provide price stability for the national currency while preventing the collapse of the banking system. This is achieved by controlling inflation - although as the current global economic crisis has shown, the fortunes of national currencies are sometimes difficult to control by national banks.
This risk is one of the reasons for the increase in central bank gold purchases over the past decade.
As the Dutch central bank puts it: “Gold bars always hold their value. Crisis or not. It gives you a sense of security. So central bank holdings of gold are a vote of confidence.”
Here are three main reasons why gold is the central bank’s preferred reserve commodity.
1. REDUCE RISK
Gold is a well-known safe-haven asset that tends to perform positively during times of uncertainty and market volatility. It is seen as an asset without any liabilities, which contributes to its ability to reduce risk.
The American banker and financier JPMorgan Chase is known to have said, “Gold is money. Everything else is credit” to highlight another inherent advantage of gold: its ongoing purchasing power.
Central banks are looking to buy gold as a hedge against a weakening dollar or other fiat currencies.
Gold’s role as portfolio or investment diversification also contributes to its ability to reduce risk.
Therefore, central banks have traditionally held large gold reserves to protect their financial systems. In the event of a system crash, gold reserves provide an opportunity to recover. In this way, gold inspires confidence in the strength of central banks and the financial security of nations.
2. HEDGE INFLATION
Hedging against inflation is another reason for central banks to buy gold. Simply put, inflation is an increase in the price of a basket of goods.
In order for inflation to not significantly affect a country’s economy, the country needs investments that are not pegged to the dollar -- into gold and other precious metals.
Gold is seen by many as a barometer of the value of a foreign exchange instrument. Gold appreciation is seen as evidence of currency devaluation.
3. PROMOTE STABILITY AND GROWTH
The main role of a central bank is to promote stability and encourage economic growth. As currencies continue to depreciate as is currently happening at the time of publishing this article, banks must ensure their respective economies are not shaken. Therefore, gold is used to control the size and speed of market growth.

The Global Bullion report cites Chinese and Russian central banks buying gold as an example, explaining that emerging markets are particularly vulnerable to free market excesses and are using gold to offset risks.
TOP 10 CENTRAL BANKS HOLDING THE MOST GOLD?
The US holds 8,133 tonnes of gold, more than double the 3,358 tonnes of second-placed Germany.
Italy, France and Russia are third, fourth and fifth with 2,452 tonnes, 2,436 tonnes and 2,301 tonnes respectively. China and Switzerland came in sixth and seventh with 1,948 and 1,040 tonnes, respectively.
Japan (8,455 t), India (760 t) and the Netherlands (612 t) are close behind with less than 1,000 t.
WHAT ABOUT CANADA?
HOW MUCH GOLD DOES THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA OWN?
Currently, our gold holdings amount to less than 0.1 per cent of the $82.6 billion US that Canada has in official international reserves, which represent about 186 tonnes. The U.S., by comparison, had 8,133 tonnes of gold (261.5 million troy ounces) as of the end of 2015, according to the World Gold Council, worth almost $300 billion US.
ARE CENTRAL BANKS EXCLUDED FROM THE GOLD MARKET?
The price of gold has risen 88% since central banks became net buyers of gold a decade ago. In 2010, the price of an ounce of gold was US$1,096. At its peak in 2020, gold sold for US$2,063.
Following the second-largest central bank’s net gold purchases (25 tonnes) in the first quarter of 2020, the Russian central bank suspended new gold purchases. So far, demand for gold from the Russian central bank has remained stable since 2006. At the time, the likely reasons for the suspension of purchases were lower oil prices, higher bullion prices and the country’s already strong gold reserves.
However, higher gold prices did not stop central banks of India and Turkey from increasing their gold holdings. In 2020, Turkey made the largest net purchases of gold at 198 metric tons, while India added more than 24 metric tonnes.

REFINE YOUR GOLD
Acknowledging current market facts, the question is why holding on to unbranded jewellery too long mostly when it becomes out of style. It will be a management dilemma as to how long we sit on inventory acquired via financing while interest rate is increasing causing margin reductions.
We wish we had a clear answer, however your financial situation will dictate the direction you will take or be forced to take.

Cartier welcomed the light of summer with an unforgettable night in celebration of Clash de Cartier in Stockholm
Cartier hosted Swedish and other Nordic guests for a grand celebration of Clash de Cartier in Stockholm. The city thrives on the duality between tradition and modernity, an inspiration it shares with the rebellious collection.
Notable guests included royals and celebrities such as HH Prince Nikolai of Denmark, Omar Rudberg, Edvin Ryding, Alicia Agneson, Gizem Erdogan, Sophia Roe, Eric Saade, Jeuru, Emilia de Poret and Louise Thott.
The theme of the joyful evening was duality, light and dark, in honour of the intriguing designs of Clash de Cartier and the longer days of summer. Guests departed from Nybroviken by boat to a secret location where they were welcomed by the iconic Cartier grooms.
Upon entering the venue, guests discovered an immersive Clash de Cartier installation in a cave room.
Swedish DJ Tina Misaghi and French DJ producers Doppelganger Paris (twins Brice and Régis Abby) entertained the guests.
The celebration coincides with the unique Clash de Cartier installation in the Stockholm Boutique at Smålandsgatan 10. From June 3rd until June 18th visitors can discover new creations that amplify the dualities within the Maison’s codes.
PROVOCATIVE FINE JEWELRY STYLES BY KIL N.Y.C
Cupid’s Arrows Pendant Sterling Silver, with Gem Quality Sri Lankan Moonstones $800
14k Gold, with Ethiopian Opal and Garnet Briolettes $1,500
The Agape Sword Pendant and Earrings, and the Cupid’s Arrows pendant – for your editorial consideration.
Inspired by the Jabot, a brooch designed to showcase both decorative or jewel encrusted ends, The Agape Sword pendant, our new sword, still captures the values of the KIL N.Y.C. brand.
We are very much inspired by antique jewelry, specifically antique jeweled swords, as well as their ability to blend the masculine imagery of the sword with the gentleness of the hearts and the sparkle of a gemstone.
the Agape Sword Earrings were developed to allow the wearer to show off both the hilt and scabbard’s hand carved designs. KIL N.Y.C. tried and tested numerous versions of the design before releasing them, to ensure it both looks great, and stays put.
The Cupid’s Arrows Pendant has a witch’s heart motif, which is an old Scottish symbol for protection. It uses reclaimed metal, and the piece is cast in NYC. Each of the blood drops are garnet briolettes, with hand cut gemstones, and 10% of the proceeds from each Cupid’s Arrows pendant is donated to the Joyful Heart Foundation (use QR code), which envisions a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.
1888
Theretail space is a renovation and rebranding of the Tourneau boutique that resided at the shopping center since 2010. Expansive and elegant, the refresh is a testament to the Switzerland-based brand’s rich history in the worlds of timepieces and fine jewelry, offering a sense of wonder and sparkle in both the collections and the design of the interiors.
Bucherer 1888 at King of Prussia is the second location to debut under the company’s acquisition of American-based Tourneau in 2018. The first was the TimeMachine flagship in New York, a three-story emporium with a carefully considered layout and decor that emphasizes Swiss hospitality. It serves as the blueprint for its other hybrid boutiques that carry a multitude of premier labels, including the new 4,976-square foot expanse at King of Prussia. From the large transparent windows and decorative “BB” mesh at the storefront to the mix of dark woods, soft fabric panels, and
THE

reflective stones in a neutral colour palette inside, the 4,976-square foot store keeps the elevated design elements consistent.
In addition to the beautiful surfaces, the space features comfortable seating vignettes, two group lounge areas, a custom banquette, and a bar that serves coffee, tea, and light refreshments. Swiss hospitality is one of the cornerstones of Bucherer 1888, and all these design details are there to help bolster the customer experience. The store has worked with each of its multibrand partners-Hublot. Tudor. Blancpain. Jaeger-LeCoultre, Hublot. Longines, and Carl F Bucherer, -to create a consistent
environment that visualizes a whole harmonious lifestyle, along with operating the mono-brand boutiques of the adjacent Rolex, IWC Schaffhausen, and Panerai.
A highlight at the store is the selection of Bucherer Fine Jewellery. Since 1888. Bucherer has been a purveyor of exquisite gems, both contemporary pieces and dazzling one-of-a-kind creations. and the new location marks only the second time that the breathtaking collection is available in America. Also noteworthy are limitededition timepieces from the Bucherer BLUE collection, which are only available at Bucherer. Each of these timepieces was
designed with partner brands, each of them incorporating Bucherer’s signature blue colour. Always unexpected, but always extraordinary. these are the kind of watches that will continue to amaze throughout the decades and beyond.
For over a century, Bucherer 1888 has been dominating the industry in Europe, offering a retail structure that is unparalleled and that continuously raises that bar. Now. it is bringing that same commitment to the U.S. with the unveiling of the King of Prussia boutique. the second and certainly not the last of the brand’s expansion efforts.

Christian Tse of Formula3D
Inpartnership with Formula 3D and luxury goods manufacturers, Desktop Metal is also fast-tracking the development of additional precious metal alloys in 2022, including 18K yellow gold, with active research and development underway on 18K rose gold, as well.
“Desktop Metal’s Production System and 3D printing add extraordinary value to our existing jewelry manufacturing processes, increasing efficiency of production, getting new designs to market faster, and offering our customers greater versatility and multiple styling options. We can actually print in precious metals in two hours what we do in two days with casting,” said Christian Tse, award-winning jewelry designer and President of Formula 3D corporation. “In addition, creating jewelry with direct 3D printing on binder jetting systems allows us to consider new options to circumvent some of the supply chain challenges facing the fine jewelry industry. We can bypass shipping delays and their mounting costs, as well as avoid duties, by printing the precious silver directly, as opposed to shipping the physical metal.”
