WHAT WILL I LEARN? This course offers you the opportunity to explore a vocational route throughout KS4. The course lets you gain knowledge in a number of key areas in the media field, from pre-production skills to digital animation, and offers a hands-on approach to learning. This course will also provide opportunities to develop useful transferable skills such as research, planning, and review, working with others and communicating creative concepts effectively. COMPULSORY UNITS Pre-Production Skills You will learn how to plan preproduction effectively including understanding of client requirements and reviewing pre-production briefs. You will use this knowledge in the
optional units when you develop your own media products. This unit also provides excellent transferable skills such as project planning. Creating Digital Graphics You will learn the basics of digital graphics editing for the creative and digital media sector, considering client requirements that you learn about in the pre-production skills unit. OPTIONAL UNITS You will choose two optional units from the following: 2D & 3D digital characters; websites; story telling; digital animation; game concepts; interactive multimedia products; digital sound; digital video; digital photography; digital games.
