AQUATICS NEW! SWIM ACROSS CLARKSVILLE

Location: New Providence Pool Fee: Free with paid admission Can you swim the same total amount of mileage it would take to drive from city park to park? By logging miles swam over the length of the program, participants can figuratively “Swim Across Clarksville” while getting fit, having fun and scoring some great prizes as well! Open to all ages and swim levels. This program runs through April.

Fee: $110, includes four, 45-minute classes One-on-one private swim lessons with an instructor are great for beginners, those who need a little more attention, or who aren’t quite ready for a group class. By appointment only. Sessions must be completed within two weeks.

Saturday, February 25 • 10:00AM-3:00PM Location: Fort Defiance Interpretive Center Fee: Free Join us as we commemorate the surrender of Fort Defiance to Union soldiers in 1862 with a living history event featuring uniformed soldiers and cannon firing demonstrations.

Saturday, March 11 • 2:00pm-4:00pm Location: Fort Defiance Interpretive Center Fee: Free In celebration of Women’s History month, the Fort will host its first event with a specific focus on women’s history. Many women have lived on this site and surrounding areas as they experienced the frontier period, the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the segregated South.

Our trails need constant maintenance, but to make it more fun, we schedule volunteer maintenance days throughout the year to help keep them in shape. Groups are encouraged to participate. Children ages 1-11, as well as special needs children and adults can collect eggs, visit with the Easter Bunny, and enjoy refreshments. Pre-registration is required.

QUEEN CITY ROAD RACE

Saturday, May 6 • 8:00am Location: Austin Peay State University Fee: $20 (5K) and $25 (10K) on or before April 14 $25 (5K) and $30 (10K) after April 14 This race is not just a running competition - it is a promotion for fitness and health in the Clarksville community. Each center features a full-size gymnasium, fitness center with cardiovascular and strength training equipment, racquetball court, game room, and meeting space that is available for private rental. This will allow the coordinator to create plans that are tailored to fit the specific needs and goals of each individual athlete. At the end of the program, participants will participate in the Queen City Road Race to show their progress and accomplishments!
