A Note from the Publisher
T
his year we celebrate 15 years of serving you and the renewal of classical education in the United States. For us, the renewal of classical education is no mere business endeavor—it is a passion and a calling. Most of the time, it is also fun. We never tire of noting what a delight it is to serve with so many wonderful people. Even our “competitors” (fellow publishers and consultants) are our good friends. This makes our work a cause for celebration. So, many thanks to our customers, our publishing colleagues, our authors, and our collaborators for your friendship and fellowship. I would also like to thank my team members here at Classical Academic Press (CAP), who help to make everything happen. They make it joyful work. The renewal keeps growing, and so are we. This year we are pleased to release two new eLearning services: Scholé Groups and ClassicalU. After a year of testing and refinement, both of these services are being released in their “beta” phase. This means that they are ready for use, but not yet fully developed or built out, and are priced accordingly. Scholé Groups (www.scholegroups.com) offers homeschooling groups a model for a classical, yet restful, approach to education. ClassicalU (www.classicalu.com) is our platform for offering teacher training for classical educators who wish to grow into master educators and mentors. The site features leading classical educators from around the country presenting recorded training courses in a progressive, clear format. Several of our best training sessions are offered free to anyone. You might also visit ClassicalReader.com, another new site designed to make it easy to find superb literature for your student, filterable by grade, genre, and level of difficulty. You will also note that our consulting team is growing. This year we are glad to add Jenny Rallens (expert on memory and liturgical learning) and Jason Ulbrich (expert on classical charter schools) to our consulting team. We are also glad to announce the publication of another important book: Well-Ordered Language: The Curious Child’s Guide to Grammar (Level 1A & 1B, school edition). These books begin our four-year series on grammar aimed at upper elementary students. Written by veteran classical teacher Tammy Peters and Hillsdale education professor Dr. Daniel Coupland, this series will prove to be a guide to grammar that is clear and systematic but also beautiful and engaging. Finally, we can note some other exciting publications: Our French for Children series will now feature two books (Primers A and B). We are also thrilled to release the first of a two-book series on high school rhetoric: Rhetoric Alive! Book 1: Principles of Persuasion. This book is written by Dr. Alyssan Barnes, who teaches rhetoric at Live Oak Classical School (Waco, TX) and has her doctorate in . . . rhetoric. We are also delighted to release Everyday Debate, another book by CAP author Shelly Johnson, this one addressing how to engage in formal and informal debate and Socratic discussion. As usual, we will also be on the road a good deal in the spring and summer, attending some 15 school and homeschool conferences. If you find yourself where we are, please stop by and say hello. Scholé Group is a homeschooling community of at least two families employing the content of a classical curriculum and the pedagogy of restful learning embodied by the word scholé. The word scholé (pronounced skoh-LAY) comes from a Greek word that means “restful learning,” with the connotation of “contemplation,” “conversation,” and “reflection.” We believe excellence in academics need not be frenetic or dry and boring. Instead, we contend that, with care, instructors and educational environments can foster deep engagement that results in enjoyable, incisive learning. At Scholé Groups, we provide homeschool communities with the resources and support they need to cultivate education in its fullest sense—bringing scholé to their homeschool communities. At Scholé Groups our mission is to pursue deep engagement that results in enjoyable, permanent learning—that is, to put the scholé back in (home) school. Resources & Support • Scholé Groups Forums: a space for members to connect with like-minded individuals from across the globe • Scholé Groups Handbook: a comprehensive guide to running a Scholé Group • Training Webinars: live, online training events on everything from philosophy to administration • Document Library: documents created by Scholé Groups directors for use by fellow Scholé Groups • Discounts on Scholé Academy Courses: live, online courses taught by master instructors • Discounts on ClassicalU Courses: self-paced online courses designed to train classical teachers • Discounts at Classical Academic Press: curriculum and educational resources • Discounts on HeadventureLand.com: where language practice is a whole lot of fun!

Live, Teacher-Led Online Courses
Scholé Academy: where live, online learning meets classical education! The word scholé (pronounced skoh-LAY) comes from a Greek word meaning “restful learning.” We believe excellence in academics need not be frenetic or dry and boring. Instead, our teachers foster deep engagement that results in enjoyable, incisive learning. We have worked hard to structure our courses so that the amount of work required is in accord with the allotted time while an atmosphere of contemplation, conversation, and reflection is also cultivated. Our instructors are masters of their disciplines and experienced teachers, many of whom have written the text from which they teach. They seek to wed truth to beauty in their teaching and to cultivate education in its fullest sense, ensuring that through Scholé Academy your student will receive excellent, classical instruction that leads to wisdom and mastery. Your student’s world will be enlarged and you will be there to share it with them. Put the scholé back into school.

Introducing CAP’s new grammar program for schools! for grades 3 or 4
What if the study of grammar could harness a child’s natural curiosity? What if it could be a source of delight to children? What if students could apply their grammar skills in later years and not just recite them? The WellOrdered Language (WOL) series presents the study of language in a way that appeals to a child’s inborn curiosity and desire to collect, gather, and order. It presents grammar in a clear, orderly way, while simultaneously seeking to cultivate a child’s wonder of language by presenting instruction in the context of narrative and language, attractive illustrations, and samples taken from classic children’s literature and poetry. Students will not merely learn the mechanics of grammar, but will see components of language (the parts of speech) unfolding before them as this series helps them to gather and arrange words to express their thoughts clearly and accurately. The Well-Ordered Language series is designed so that teachers and students actively engage with each other and with the grammatical concepts in each lesson, using language skills—reading, writing, speaking, and listening— along with physical movement, songs, and chants. Through the unique, creative, and orderly method of analyzing the grammatical functions of the parts of speech, students will find the mastery of grammar achievable, meaningful, and delightful. Each level is a full year of grammar covered in two books (A & B). Each book is one semester long. Three more levels are currently in production for a full four-year grammar program. We will release one level (two books) per year over the next three years. Homeschool educators may use the school edition, adjusting it to their needs.

Why Latin?
D
orothy Sayers points out that when you study Latin, you are doing advanced study in several subjects simultaneously. The following are some of those other subjects studied in and through Latin as well as some of the benefits of studying Latin: • Professions steeped in Latin vocabulary: law, medicine, science, music, art, philosophy, and theology • Romance languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian are all forms of Latin. • Educational virtues: The study of Latin requires concentration, analysis, and puzzle solving that develop a student as a student. It also helps gifted students to slow down and attend! • English vocabulary: 50% of all English words come from Latin; 90% of all polysyllabic words come from Latin. • English grammar: The regular grammar of Latin is ideal for shedding light on the way all languages, including English, work. • Writing/Reading: An increased vocabulary and understanding of grammar enable students to write and read with greater ease and clarity. • Pleasure: Deciphering the “secret code” of Latin and reading great authors in their own tongue is a pleasure that can last a lifetime!

Song School Latin
Optime!
The Song School Latin series (Book 1 and Book 2)
C
hildren love to sing and love learning while singing! They happily learn their ABCs to song and will also learn Latin words, vocabulary, and phrases. The classical model of teaching commonly uses singing to teach young children, so we have employed it throughout our Song School Latin series. Each student book comes with a boundin CD filled with lively songs and chants children love that help them master their Latin vocabulary. Parents and educators often tell us how often children go around singing these fun (and funny) songs throughout the day on their own—even the toddlers tag along! Even if you have never taught Latin before, you can easily walk children through Song School Latin, and enjoy the journey yourself! Song School Latin is designed so that children can do much of their work independently, learning from the music CDs, the creative teaching DVDs, and the user-friendly books themselves.
“A six-year-old boy’s favorite part of school is Latin? Want to know why? We’re using Song School Latin. We love this curriculum! I cannot recommend this book enough for [those] who want to introduce their early elementary students to Latin.” —Amy S. “Classical Academic Press seems to have a knack for producing materials that are academically sound and very user-friendly for [parents], teachers, and students. Song School Latin does not disappoint!” —Nancy D. “My children loved Song School Latin so much that they begged me to get Song School Greek. Even my three-year-old is picking up Latin words. It’s a wonderful introduction and well worth every penny!” —Laura

Latin Upper Grammar
Latin for Children
by Aaron Larsen, DA & Christopher Perrin, PhD In its fourteenth year, the Latin for Children curriculum continues to be a strong, inviting, and creative program designed to introduce students as young as third or fourth graders to Latin. It incorporates elements that will engage students of every learning style. As a step beyond just an exposure to the language, when used as a whole, this series trains students in grammar, vocabulary, and English derivatives in a lively, interactive way that is perfectly suited to students in the grammar stage. The Latin for Children series is taught directly to the child and is a perfect choice for teachers and parents, including those who will be learning along with their students.
“I love Latin for Children and Latin Alive! I teach Latin in middle and high school, and this is honestly the first curriculum I haven’t had to rewrite (or at least seriously tweak) in order to teach it. It’s all there, well written and fun to use. The kids love it, I love it, and I’ve seen the kids grow in understanding and application of the language. Thanks CAP!” —Jennifer D. “Latin for Children and Latin Alive! are challenging and thorough enough for the students, yet simple enough for a homeschool mom without a Latin background to implement.” —Jennifer “We love this program! Our kids find Dr. Perrin very engaging, and we all look forward to our Latin time each day. With the DVD, lessons, and fun activities, our learning seems almost effortless. My kids’ English vocabulary is also increasing as we progress through the program. Thanks so much!” —Julie G.

Writing & Rhetoric
“
Your Writing & Rhetoric program has inspired my 9-year-old son! Before beginning Book 1: Fable, he had been a very reluctant writer. After only the first lesson, he wrote an outstanding original story completely on his own. My husband and I were amazed, and humbled, at how much was stored up in that little mind of his, just waiting to come out.
“
“
–Tricia Harbaugh, Homeschool Educator
When we started this program, [my son] was producing sentences like: The silly girl laughed a lot. But in our last lesson, he wrote: The dark, shaggy monster rose from under the bed, and in a dreadfully fearsome voice started to growl . . . Thank you for your quality, make-a-difference materials!

Writing & Rhetoric Series
A Classical Approach to the Progymnasmata Note: The first 6 books are available for the 2015/2016 school year. We will continue to publish 2 books per year to complete the series. What are the progymnasmata (progym)? Derived from the same root for “gymnasium” and “gymnastics,” the word means “preliminary exercises.” It is a writing system so dynamic, so effective, that it outlasted the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. It even survived into early modern times and is extraordinarily relevant today. The goal of the progym is to prepare students for the art of writing well and speaking persuasively. This method assumes that students learn best by reading excellent, whole-story examples of literature and by growing their skills through imitation. In this series, you can expect your students to grow in all forms of modern composition—narrative, expository, descriptive, and persuasive—while at the same time developing unique rhetorical muscle. Each exercise is intended to impart a skill (or tool) that can be employed in all kinds of writing and speaking. The exercises are arranged from simple to more complex. What’s more, the exercises are cumulative, meaning that later exercises incorporate the skills acquired in preceding exercises. The progym will prepare your students to enjoy transforming that blank sheet of paper into a spectacular view from atop the pinnacle of their own imagination. Writing & Rhetoric Teacher’s Editions include the complete student text, as well as answer keys, teacher’s notes, and explanations. For every writing assignment, this edition also supplies descriptions and examples of what excellent student writing should look like, providing the teacher with meaningful and concrete guidance. Writing & Rhetoric Audio Files allow students to engage their sense of hearing and their listening intelligence as Dr. Christopher Perrin, along with his wife, author and poet Christine Perrin, deliver the fables, parables, myths, tales, and historical narratives aloud in a thoughtful manner (corresponding with each book). Students will enjoy and internalize the stories before they enter them more deeply.

Writing & Rhetoric Book 4: Chreia & Proverb One-semester course for 4th or 5th grade & up
by Paul Kortepeter The word chreia (cray-ă) comes from the Greek word chreiodes (cray-o-dees), which means “useful.” It is a short essay or remembrance that praises the author of a saying or proverb and shows why the saying is useful. This book employs all the skills of the preceding books in the series and teaches students how to write a six-paragraph essay on the basis of a saying or an action. In this book, the thinking and exercises occur within the framework of stories about historical figures such as King Arthur, Lady Godiva, King Canute, Omar Khayyam, and more. The six-paragraph essay using the five Ws (who, what, when, where, why) is arranged this way: • Praise the author of the saying of your chreia or proverb • Restate the saying in your own words • Explain why the saying is useful • Contrast your example with another person in history • Compare your example with another similar example in history • Epilogue—conclude your essay

Writing & Rhetoric Writing & Rhetoric Book 5: Refutation & Confirmation
by Paul Kortepeter One-semester course for 5th or 6th grade & up Writing & Rhetoric Book 5: Refutation & Confirmation introduces students to persuasive writing and speech. A refutation is a short essay that attacks certain parts of a narrative. In this book, students will learn to identify and refute, or criticize, parts of a narrative that are unbelievable, improbable, unclear, or improper. A confirmation is a short essay that defends certain parts of a narrative. When students see parts of a narrative that are believable, probable, clear, or proper, they will confirm them. After learning to identify the parts of a story that can be attacked or defended, students will practice writing refutations or confirmations using sound arguments to explain their opinions. Be assured that this exercise of refutation and confirmation is not about taking the magic out of stories. On the contrary, it is designed to help students love truly good stories even more because they will think about them more deeply. As students practice refutation and confirmation in this book, they will not only learn to form arguments and express their opinions, but also to find delight in the stories they read. Students will learn to: • Write four-paragraph essays • Refute or confirm parts of stories • Understand comparison and contrast • Introduce and conclude an essay
• Use narrative to further the purpose of exposition • Use direct quotes to support an argument • Deliver writing orally • Revise writing

Instead, this book describes the liberal arts as a central part of a larger and more robust paradigm of classical education that should consist of piety, gymnastic, music, liberal arts, philosophy, and theology. The book also recovers the means by which classical educators developed more than just intellectual virtue (by means of the seven liberal arts) but holistically cultivated the mind, body, will, and affections. Educators wanting to take a second big step toward recovering the tradition of classical education should have this book. In this practical, faith-based, and inspirational book, Sarah Mackenzie addresses these questions directly, appealing to her own study of restful learning (scholé) and her struggle to bring restful learning to her children. The Story of a Bad Boy Audio Book The Story of a Bad Boy (1870) is an entertaining novel in the “bad boy” genre, a precursor to Mark Twain’s Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Boys and girls (typically ages 8–15) will enjoy Thomas Bailey Aldrich’s semi-autobiographical account of his experiences as a boy growing up in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The narrator of the book, Tom Bailey, turns out not to be such a bad boy after all, but he sure enjoys some fun, pranks, and adventures growing up. The epic snowball battle on Slatter’s Hill will make everyone wish for a great snowstorm! Then there is an attempt to revive some old canons on display in town . . . This book was a favorite among children in the CAP offices, and we just had to release an audio recording of the book read by Dr. Christopher Perrin. Audio Book (MP3 download)

Creating Skilled & Virtuous Thinkers 7th grade & up

W
e use logic every day, often employing it to distinguish “logical arguments from those that are unreasonable. However, few of us have been trained in logic so that we can quickly
detect bad reasoning, attach names to fallacies we encounter, and articulately form our own reasoned arguments. By studying informal and formal logic, as well as rhetoric, students will gain and learn to apply these vital skills. Studying informal logic and the informal fallacies (everyday arguments gone wrong) will aid students in recognizing bad reasoning and identifying fallacies. Studying formal logic will also further train and hone students’ minds, enabling them to determine the form that arguments take. The study of rhetoric will teach students how to create, find, and arrange content in order to craft their own persuasive arguments.

Reasoning & Reading

Reasoning & Reading: Level One 5th–6th grade
Reasoning & Reading: Level Two 7th–8th grade
Reasoning & Reading 3rd–8th grade
by Joanne Carlisle The Reading & Reasoning workbooks develop basic language and thinking skills that build the foundation for reading comprehension. Exercises reinforce reading as a critical reasoning activity. Many exercises encourage students to come up with their own response in instances in which there is no single correct answer. In other cases, exercises lend themselves to students working collaboratively to see how many different answers satisfy a question. Reasoning & Reading is an excellent supplement to any grammar program and is best used 1 or 2 days per week. All the books in the series share the following: • Unit I, Word Meaning: comparing, contrasting, and classifying words, and discriminating between good and vague definitions • Unit II, Sentence Meaning: complete sentences, recognizing the main thought, as well as time order, cause and effect, comparison, generalizations, and examples • Unit III, Paragraph Meaning: topic sentences, signal words, unity, examples, and support for the main idea • Unit IV, Reasoning Skills: fact and opinion, relevance, syllogisms, and inferences

Rhetoric Alive! by Alyssan Barnes, PhD, for grades 10–12
Rhetoric is traditionally the last “trivium art” to be studied, following grammar and logic. While grammar focuses on the structure of language (for accurate interpretation and expression), and logic focuses on the right use of reason and the construction of logical arguments, rhetoric focuses on making speech and writing compelling, pleasing, and persuasive. CAP is pleased to announce the release of Rhetoric Alive! Book 1: Principles of Persuasion. The book is authored by Dr. Alyssan Barnes, an experienced rhetoric teacher from Live Oak Classical School. Alyssan is a clear, engaging writer with her PhD in . . . rhetoric. Have you ever won an argument but “lost the person”? Without the skillful use of rhetoric, we may still leave our hearers unchanged and unconvinced. This is because humans are not mere “logic machines” who make decisions solely by reasoned argument (logos). Aristotle recognized this and therefore exhorts us also to appeal to human emotion (pathos) and to establish our own credibility (ethos) as speakers and writers. These three “appeals” are studied and applied in Rhetoric Alive!, along with the three types of speech and the five canons of rhetoric: Three appeals Rational (logos) Emotional (pathos) Ethical/Credibility (ethos)
Three types of speech Ceremonial (praise or blame) Judicial (determine true and false) Deliberative (when we urge what is advantageous or expedient)
Five canons (rules or standards) Invention (generating points) Arrangement (arranging point) Style (appropriate/pleasing words) Delivery (delivering the speech) Memory (memorizing the speech)
Dr. Barnes takes high school students through these elements of rhetoric using her own compelling and delightful style, clearly presenting rhetorical theory, but also including many exercises of imitation and practice. As students learn rhetorical theory, they will also begin putting rhetoric into practice, starting with short speech assignments and gradually building to longer ones.

British Literature Guides Walking to Wisdom Literature Guides: The Inklings Collection 7th grade & up
Stories give us an experience of certain knowledge, which is why how we feel about a book is part of what a book is teaching us. We have kept these things in heart and mind while making The Inklings Collection of literature guides to be used in conjunction with the work of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Dorothy Sayers.* We name these guides “Walking to Wisdom” because acquiring wisdom happens at the pace of a walk and with a mentor. We have sought to guide students through these marvelous books as well as in the skill of reading these particular texts. Tolkien, Sayers, and Lewis all expressed their ideas in both fiction and nonfiction. The fiction includes dramatic literature, short fiction, long fiction, epistolary satire, and allegory. To shed light on their fiction, we have incorporated some nonfiction essays of Lewis and Sayers in the guides that cover their works. We strongly encourage students to take the year and use all 8 guides as a twentieth-century British literature course, though working through even one guide will be beneficial. Each literature guide both stands on its own and interacts with the others, with sidebar comments and thematic continuity. These books will change students’ lives and, in the meantime, teach them how to read with delight, depth, and skill, as well as prepare them to write well. These substantial literature guides thoughtfully instruct students with the following habits: • taking notes in their books • keeping notes book-wide on the great ideas that animate the book • orally telling back the story • summarizing • creating their own questions • answering life questions that apply the material • reading sample student writing • memorizing important quotations • writing a strong essay at book’s end • participating in creative enrichment activities related to the books • engaging with questions that stimulate discussion about thematic material • answering different types of questions, such as reading questions, which develop close-reading skills *Sayers was not technically a member of the Inklings literary group, but rather was a close associate of Lewis and Williams and her work shares the same concerns. Thus, we have included her in this series, considering her an Inkling “in spirit.”
A note on the teacher’s edition: This essential companion to the student guide supplies substantial answers for every question in the book. Students learn by comparing their answers to those provided in the teacher’s edition, reading and discussing the answers as a significant part of their experience. This practice will instruct students in the processes of reading, writing, and critical thinking.

True to form, God’s Great Covenant [New Testament 1], is a high-quality, biblically accurate, and academic curriculum. . . . [It’s a] very comprehensive program, but also very easy to jump right in and begin. If you’re looking for a solid Bible curriculum, search no further! My testers ranged in age from 1st–8th grade. It was a subject we did all together, but the [student edition] would be easy to implement as an independent learning subject with your older elementary children.

Covenantal Bible 3rd grade & up God’s Great Covenant New Testament 2 Program 4th grade & up
by Claire Larsen In God’s Great Covenant New Testament 2: A Bible Course for Children, we follow the spread of the gospel from Jerusalem into all of Judea to the territory of Samaria and finally into the whole world. It’s a story of adventure, misfortune, mighty miracles, and God’s marvelous grace. God’s Great Covenant New Testament 2 teaches children fourth grade and up how God completed His covenant promise to Abraham that “all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3). The textbook has 5 units. An introductory unit that gives the purpose of the book of Acts, short biographies of Acts’ leading men (Luke, Peter, and Paul), and a description of the New Testament world precedes 4 units that trace the gospel’s spread into the world. The book of Acts continues the story of Jesus’s ministry through the acts of His apostles. It is the bridge that connects the gospels that tell the story of Jesus’s ministry to the epistles that explain and apply the gospel story. Though the epistles are not studied in detail, this text has chapters on the nature of Paul’s letters, problems in the early churches, and a concise description of Paul’s theology. The book of Acts is an exciting adventure story, but even more it is the culmination of a beautiful redemption story that began many, many years ago in the Garden of Eden. The book of Acts is not only a page-turning adventure story, but it is a testament to the faithfulness of our God who makes promises to His people and keeps them.

Our elementary Spanish curriculum is unlike any other. How so? It is the only elementary curriculum on the market that seeks to teach students how to speak Spanish correctly by teaching the principles of Spanish grammar. Why is this? Well, many modern educators are hesitant to teach grammar to young students and they want students to start speaking the language right away without the distraction of learning grammar. Idea: Isn’t it really because educators want to see the immediate benefit of students being able to say a few phrases? Learning correct Spanish is well within the reach of elementary students who will learn and enjoy it as they see the language “power” it imparts.

Singapore Math Singapore Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition 1A–6B is ideal for both classroom and home use for 1st–7th grades. 1A is suitable for 1st–2nd grades. Singapore Math is the most popular primary math series used by schools and homeschoolers in the U.S. and Canada. The series is recommended for those who want a solid, basic math program with a proven track record and an emphasis on concept development, mental techniques, and problem solving. This is primarily a direct instruction program. Students are given several approaches for solving problems and are encouraged to discuss ideas and explore additional methods. e Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition series of elementary Th math textbooks and workbooks is meant to be part of a system of learning in which adult supervision and independent practice go hand in hand. The main feature of this series is the use of the Concrete > Pictorial > Abstract approach. The students are provided with the necessary learning experiences beginning with the concrete and pictorial stages, followed by the abstract stage to enable them to learn mathematics meaningfully. This approach encourages active thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas, and problem solving. This helps develop the foundation students will need for more advanced mathematics. The workbooks are consumable and should be used in conjunction with the textbooks. They contain the exercises the student does independently. Answers or answer keys for Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition textbooks and workbooks are found in the teacher’s guides and home instructor’s guides. e Home Instructor’s Guide will help you to understand the important concepts of the Primary Mathematics Th (U.S. and third edition) curriculum and how these concepts fit in with the program as a whole. It will provide suggestions to help you to introduce each new concept concretely and use the textbook effectively. It includes additional activities for reinforcement and practice and a suggested weekly schedule. The guide contains: • notes to the instructor with some mathematical background for each section in the textbook • objectives for each chapter • teaching activities using manipulatives where appropriate • reinforcement and enrichment activities • answers and solutions to corresponding textbook pages and learning tasks for the lesson, to be discussed with the student • answers to the corresponding workbook exercises and solutions to many of the problems • mental math pages rimary Mathematics U.S. Teacher’s Guides provide, in both flexibility and detail, a clear framework for the P Primary Mathematics textbooks. Each lesson is accompanied by numerous activities which expand and reinforce the concepts for that lesson and which are designed to fit both teachers who wish to adapt lessons to their own classroom situation, and teachers who desire easy-to-follow, effective teaching strategies. Through the notes to the teacher and the detailed objectives for each learning task in the text and activity in the guide, these teacher’s guides help teachers to fully understand the purpose and concept behind each set of problems, both within the context of the unit and the context of the overall curriculum. This new edition is a revision and reformatting of the previous edition. Each lesson contains clear objectives, background notes, and a suggested lesson plan in an easy-to-follow format. Some lessons include optional reinforcement and enrichment activities, when appropriate. Answers, as well as worked-out solutions for many problems, are provided for both the textbook and workbook.
