Volunteers: A Special Gem of the “Emerald Necklace” In 2014, Cleveland Metroparks and its visitors benefitted from the knowledge, patience and dedication of 2,200 volunteers. In addition, approximately 3,600 people served the Park District as part of group projects coordinated by their employer, church, service club…etc. Volunteers were an integral part of 23 programs including natural resource research, eliminating invasive species, assisting with educational opportunities and in a multitude of ways to make sure visitors to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo have an exceptional experience!
