Zoo Venues African Elephant Crossing Outdoor Venue Treat your guests to something truly unique as they enter this world-class, award-winning African elephant exhibit. Your guests will be amazed as they watch elephants stroll by the elevated wooden decks of the African village. Guests can enjoy cocktails while they watch the antics of the nearby mob of meerkats or listen to the busy black-cheeked lovebirds and African gray parrots chatter in the aviary. Easily accommodates 150 guests for a sit-down dinner or up to 800 guests outdoors for a standing reception.
Windows on the World Experience a glimpse of Africa with a breathtaking view of the Zoo’s magnificent elephants in the world-class, award-winning African Elephant Crossing through floor to ceiling windows. Easily accessible from the Main Gate. *Elephants not out in cold weather
Reinberger Homestead Your guests will start their “Land Down Under” adventure with a walk-about surrounded by red and gray kangaroos and Bennett’s wallabies on the way to the Reinberger Homestead, a beautiful Victorian-style ranch house. This is a unique setting for sit-down dinners for up to 50 guests or a standing reception for 100 guests. Surrounding the exterior is a stately wrap around covered veranda perfect for cocktail hours. *Not open during winter months
The RainForest Venture into the jungle without leaving the city! Entertain in style while viewing exotic animals, reptiles and plants in lush tropical surroundings. The RainForest seats 300 guests for a sit-down dinner or up to 800 guests for a standing reception among exotic rain forest animals and a simulated rainstorm. The RainForest provides plenty of room for your guests to roam and visit the animal exhibits while stopping at bar and food stations. Your event will rock as your guests dance the night away on the large wooden dance floor.
Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building Dance and dine among the primates! Your guests can wander around the world seeing an array of animals and fish, then dine comfortably close to the glass-enclosed exhibits featuring several species of primates and cats. The venue is heated and air conditioned. Ideal for corporate parties, wedding receptions and banquets. Many people have asked me about our experience there, being such a unique venue. Wolf Wilderness Lodge Travel back in time as you and your guests explore a 3,000-square foot rustic Wolf Lodge reminiscent of a nineteenth-century cabin. Guests can relax in comfortable rocking chairs on the spacious front porch, watch the pack of gray wolves roam through the woods behind a large window or warm up by the stone fireplace. The wilderness experience continues as your guests discover a bald eagle and other northern wetland species in a large open-front aviary or beaver swimming by the underwater viewing window to the inside of their lodge. Ideal for cocktail parties for up to 100 guests and up to 56 guests for sit-down dinners. We are just thrilled with the Zoo staff, Aramark catering (food was excellent), animal antics, cleanliness & atmosphere of the Wolf Wilderness Lodge. Zoo Venues Wade Hall Building and Deck The historic Wade Hall building constructed in 1884, has been restored to a Victorian-style parlor offering a picturesque setting for any event. A large, wooden deck surrounds the building providing a scenic view of Waterfowl Lake. It is the perfect location for casual to elegant, sit-down meals, standing receptions and wedding ceremonies.

Roaring Lion Café Be the first to invite a lion to your event. The unique circular Roaring Lion Café features an inspiring collection of African artwork that will make any sit-down dinner or reception a special occasion. Your guests will have a close-up view of the lions and some of the Zoo’s Savanna residents from the surrounding patio.
Auditorium Stunning Andy Warhol animal artwork brings the Zoo indoors. This attractive room with wood-beamed ceilings can easily and comfortably accommodate theater, classroom or dining seating. Easily accessible from the Zoo’s main entrance, this room is perfect for corporate meetings/conferences, luncheons and theme parties.
Zoo Venues Palava Hut Pavilion
Throw your next picnic, family reunion or theme party in the Palava Hut Pavilion. Use the covered courtyard for buffet displays or as a reception area. The large U-shaped 110’ x 80’ brick pavilion can accommodate up to 450 guests. Picnic tables included. Conveniently located near the Zoo’s front entrance.
Tucker Court Break away to Tucker Court, a secluded Australian-style wooden shelter and courtyard, located in the Zoo’s Australian Adventure. Guests can enjoy refreshments served at the large separate buffet/bar shelter. Miniature horses, merino sheep and a domestic donkey will watch the activities from across the path. Picnic tables included.
Primate Picnic Canopy Located in the scenic wooded area near the Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building, this 30’ x 60’ canopy includes picnic tables. Your guests will enjoy the shade from the trees and close proximity to the Zoo’s playground.
Waterfowl Lake Tent Available seasonally, the 30’ x 60’ Waterfowl Lake Tent is centrally located and overlooks picturesque Waterfowl Lake. The canopy comfortably holds 225-seated guests. Picnic tables included.
Nature Nook Pavilion Plan your next event at the beautiful stone Nature Nook Pavilion located next to the new Circle of Wildlife Carousel with its 64 exquisite, hand-carved animals. Entertain your guests in this new 45’ x 65’ open shelter and on the adjacent deck. Picnic tables for a casual picnic or tables for an elegant affair make the space versatile. Nature Nook Pavilion can accommodate 120 seated guests or can be combined with Wild Wonder Pavilion to accommodate up to 240 seated guests. Circle of Wildlife Carousel ride packages available.
Wild Wonder Pavilion The 45’ x 65’ open stone pavilion is located next to the Circle of Wildlife Carousel and the adjacent deck, providing the perfect setting for a customized event. Picnic tables for a casual picnic or tables for an elegant affair are provided. Wild Wonder Pavilion can accommodate 120 seated guests or can be combined with Nature Nook Pavilion to accommodate up to 240 seated guests. Treat your guests to a ride on the new Circle of Wildlife Carousel with 64 beautifully hand-carved animals. Circle of Wildlife Carousel packages available. Guests of the Nature Nook Pavilion and Wild Wonder Pavilion have use of the Nature Play Zone, a natural playground designed for kids!

Additionally, Aramark supports sustainable sourcing practices as outlined in the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program.
