is the outgoing type, having lived most of her life in the Philippines she recently moved here in Japan in 2009. She loves to sing, in fact she always goes out with her friends to go to karaoke. Fun and quirky, Ainie always puts a smile and laughter in a conversation. She plans on taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Nihon Hotel School in Shinjuku

ay kasabihan tayong mga Pinoy na, mahirap magpalaki ng magulang. Kung iniisip ninyo na mali ang basa ninyo, tama kayo, mali nga. Ano ang mali? ‘Yung tama. Ang gulo ba? Kalimutan na nga lang ninyo ang sinabi ko. Kung sasariwain mo ang kapanahunan ni Freddie Aguilar at kakantahin mo sa karaoke ang kanyang pinakasikat na awiting Macarena.. este yung “Anak” pala, ang sarap pakinggan nung unang linya. Iisipin mo na isang napakahalagang regalo na nahulog sa kalangitan ang napakacute na mga supling na ginawa sa dilim. Pero darating tayo sa punto na habang lumalaki at tumatanda ang mga anak natin, ay unti-unti silang nagkakaroon ng sariling personalidad at malayo sa pagkakakilanlan noong kayo pa ang nagpapalit ng kanyang diaper at nagpapadede nung hindi pa sila tinutubuan ng ipin. Nakakamiss din ang maging isang anak, lalo na kapag halos lahat ng sinabi ng magulang mo ay sinasabi mo na rin sa mga anak mo. Naniniwala na ako na bilog nga ang buwan. Matutulog na tayo!” at “Kapag ikaw nabulag sa ginagawa mo, makikita mo!” Masarap na mahirap maging magulang, nasa inyo kung paano ninyo palalakihin ang mga anak ninyo, pero sana ‘wag ninyong kalimutan na naging bata rin kayo, at kung makulit man ang mga anak ninyo, kasalanan ninyo ‘yan, nagmana lang sila sa inyo. Hanggang sa muli.. WALANG BASAGAN NG TRIP!

is unique yet versatile. A sporty woman with lots of talents, it's no surprise that she is also a karate expert. She spends most of her time practising the art of karate at her local dojo in Yokohama area. Being the only woman at her dojo, it was hard to be accepted at first but most of their doubt were erased when she performed well and became one of their top students. Lilian works hard at the gym as well to keep her body fit and strong. She loves to shop, but prides herself in making and designing her own accessories.

A tale of two
Villages I
t is still winter in Japan and you still have the time to visit the the Shirakawa-go and Gokayama villages in Gifu and Toyama prefectures. These two villages were listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. I have been to Shirakawa-go last summer of 2012. I made a promise that if I can get a chance to visit it again in winter, I definitely will. That day came just two weeks ago, after joining a photography club bus tour. First stop of the tour was in Shirakawa-go. I almost did not recognize the place as it was covered with snow. It was winter wonderland. But when I saw at the gassho-zukuri, I know I have been here before.

Gassho-zukuri is a house built of wooden beams combined to form a steep thatched roof that resembles two hands together. *1 I have a confession to make as a photo enthusiast. I hate tripods, long exposure and night shots. Perhaps I am just too lazy and impatient to set-up everything, wait for 15 - 20 sec before seeing the photo. But, during my last vacation, I got a good deal and bought a tripod. Finally. Hey, I still suck with long exposure photography but life goes on. Ha ha! Next day, we went to Gokayama. It is comparably smaller than Shirakawa-go but both villages showcased the same houses that could withstand the heavy snowfall. At Gokayama, we were introduced to Sasara. Sasara is a traditional Japanese wooden percussion instrument used in folk songs, rural dances and kabuki theater. The purpose of sasara is to sound an imitation sound of rubbing ears of rice. *2 At some point I wish the roofs were filled with snow but over-all it was still a great experience. Yuki
is no newbie when it comes to modeling - having modelled and acted in the Philippines before, she was also the favorite of a lot of Japanese photographers for their books and magazines a few years ago. Yuki is now staying in the tropical island of Okinawa, preferring the sand and beaches over the cement jungles of Tokyo. She loves to pamper herself by going to the salon and spa or just lounging at the beach with her friends. She believes that the life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence.

あなたも税金の還付申請対象者！！ 知らない人と差がつく！ 得する税金！？ 日本に住むフィリピン人、又は配偶者がフィリピン人の日本人は 約９7%の方々に税金還付のチャンスが有るのを知っていますか！？
皆さんは日本に住む外国人も日本人と同じように所得税と住民税の還付申請ができるという話をご存知ですか？ 日本で働き日本の所得税と住民税を納めていて母国の家族や親戚に援助を行っていれば、一定の条件のもとその行為が 「扶養」 と認められ、税法上の優遇すなわち 「扶養控除」 の適用を 受けることができるのです。最長で所得税・住民税それぞれ5年分の納め過ぎた税金が還付されるということです。 では実際どのくらいの税金が還付されるのでしょうか？還付される金額はあくまで支払った税金の範囲内で、 それ以上になることはありません。 しかしこれまで支払った税金の合計は意 外と多額で還付予想額を算出すると皆さん非常に驚かれます。 この制度適用は外国人のみならず、外国人を配偶者（フィリピン人等） にもつ日本人も配偶者の家族を扶養していれば適用されます。外国人と結婚した時点で配偶者の母国に住む配偶 者の家族・親族も法的な 「家族」 となるのです。 もちろん経済的な援助をすることで 「扶養」 となるわけですから、 これを証明することが必要となります。 還付申請を行う上で重要な注意点がありますので説明いたします。 ＊日本人が申請する場合、扶養親族と認められるのは外国人配偶者の3親等以内の親族。 外国人が申請する場合、 自分自身の6親等以内。 ＊ 「扶養」 とは扶養親族に経済的に援助（金銭・物品） していること。 またそのことを証明する書類を提出できること。 一般的な質問事項＜＜Q & A＞＞ Q: どれくらい還付されるの？ A: 還付金は、 申告者により異なります 還付の可能性と還付概算額等は、 申請時に個々の書類を確認後に判明します。 Q: 還付されるまでの期間はどれくらい？ A: 還付金額同様申告者の扶養状況により異なります。 最短で約２~３カ月、最長で約１年から１年半程かかる方も中にはいます。 Q: 手数料はどの位？ A: 申告者により異なりますが、基本的には還付金額に対しての２０～２５％ （グループ割引、 リピーター割引あり） Q: ビザを持っていませんが、 申告は可能？ A: 超過滞在者（オーバーステイ） でも申告は可能ですが、 申告には必ず外国人登録されていることが必須となります。
